Wow! That means only pro-UMNO academics can be promoted. If Laksa Mana is an academic, he could be made the vice chancellor of a local university. No wonder our universities were ranked very lowly in the latest Times Higher Education World University Rankings. None was ranked among the top 400 whereas our little neighbour down south has two universities ranked among the top 100.

Prof Aziz Bari will make a fine example of an excellent Education Minister. Not only has he the credentials but also the distinction to define what that is academic and politic. All the past and the one now could only do so much as to gamble with our children’s future with their Touch ‘n’ Go policies.

35 years ago, MU graduates sound respectful and vocational schools were for those who fail their MCE or SPM. Now, private vocational school graduates are not less respectful than a local government University graduate. Of course, those days, we have less than 5 universities but now ?. What had happened? We really need to do act fast. If not, our graduates will be exported as maids and factory workers.

You Pakatan fellows, promise me that you will not muzzle academics the same way, after you win the elections. If you do, be prepared to face the music, not only from Barisan (opposition) guns, but from bigger guns from our own side!
