80-Day Countdown to 13GE – Reject politics of lies and falsehoods of UMNO/BN

Congrats to Anwar for today winning his defamation lawsuit against Utusan Malaysia, the newspaper in Malaysia which is making world history in piling up the most number of lost defamation suits against Pakatan Rakyat personalities.

Lies and falsehoods against Pakatan Rakyat have become the staple diet of Utusan Malaysia, the mouthpiece of UMNO, to the extent that Utusan Malaysia is more a “Lies-Paper” rather than a “News-Paper”.

But Utusan Malaysia is not the only “Lies-Paper” in Malaysia although it is the worst example of the stable of UMNO/Barisan Nasional mainstream media (MSM).

With the daily approach of the 13th general elections, UMNO/Barisan Nasional leaders and their propaganda mouthpieces, whether mainstream media or rogue cybertroopers, will be working overtime to pump out lies and falsehoods.

Let all Malaysians, regardless of race, religion, territory, age or gender, unite in the forthcoming 13GE to reject the politics of lies, falsehoods and abuses of UMNO/BN.

It is sad that not only the living, but even the dead, have also become casualties of such politics of lies and falsehoods.

One of the most disgusting and disgraceful examples of such politics of lies and falsehood was provided by former Prime Minister Tun Mahathir last week, when he claimed that what he did in Project IC or Project M in the “citizenship-for-votes” scam in Sabah was “lawful” and that Bapa Malaysia Tunku Abdul Rahman “had done worse by giving citizenship to one million unqualified people in peninsula Malaysia” before Merdeka.

Adding insult to injury, Mahathir even asked: “Why is it when he does it, it is not wrong, and when I do it, it’s wrong.”

I feel sad not only for Tunku, but also for all the UMNO/Alliance leaders of the Merdeka era, as Mahathir had not only smeared the memory and good name of Bapa Malaysia but also all his comrade-in-arms in the Merdeka struggle, including Tun Razak, Tun Ismail, Tun Tan Cheng Lock and Tun Sambanthan.

I feel sadder – not only at the defamation of Tunku, Razak, Ismail, Tan Cheng Lock and Sambanthan by Mahathir, but that after four days, there has not been a single voice from the UMNO/Barisan Nasional government and leadership to defend their memory and good name.

Let us put an end to the politics of lies and falsehoods in the 13GE.

The consequences of the lies is most urgent with Sabahan but next to them are Selangorian. It cannot be over-emphasised that possible even up to Hundreds of Thousands are benefiting from BR1M, phone subsidies and competing for PR1MA flats, places in colleges and universities as well as scholarships other than just the jobs

Remember, Selangor is the first state to have an Indonesian being made Chief Minister who was also likely the most corrupt…

It is indeed shocking to hear what Dr Mahatir has said in relationship to RCI. Sadly, most voters in the country is yet to understand what is all this about, despite the many ceramahs by Pakatan to try to explain this. But I notice most of the time during the ceramah it is just a lot of ‘ kutuk ‘ but not to bear FACTS in a civil way. It is necessary for Politicians in the simplest of language TRANSLATE what is Dr. Mahatir trying to IMPLY instead of KUTUK. Therefore, I urge Kit to train all Pakatan Politicians to LEARN TO EXPLAIN FACTS without been seen as KUTUK but FACTS to determine in VOTING especially for the simple rural malay folks , and now, the New Voters who will be determining the Winner in the next GE13 ! Please act , thank you very much.

why it is the countdown to GE and not countdown to Najxb or BN collapse?

You think Utusan will have learnt its lesson ? Nah, you can bet your last ringgit that Utusan’s bosses will be called by UMNO to “carry on”. After all, Utusan’s assessed penalties will be paid by UMNO, and UMNO generally gets their funds through the usual inflated deal machine, so we the taxpayers end up paying for Utusan’s penalties.

One never seize to wonder, how far history need to be remodelled to suite ones need.
If one does not respect what his elders has done for the country and in gaining independence, how who younger generation respect him/her as an elder who uphold the country and its independence? Why must one try to change the history as documented?
I guess the simple fact is, history is not it is, it is what one wants it to be. The one that benefits him/her. And that is what TDM has done to this proud nation.

Some time ago, the Indian government urged Indian nationals to take up residency in Malaysia. The advice by the Indian government caused a stir in local media. Could that be a “Project IC” for Selangor?

///Even then the influx of Muslim Filipinos into Sabah was not a new thing It started long before that When North Borneo became Sabah and joined Malaysia in 1963 the Filipinos were already free to come and go Like Malaya during British time this was not an issue And like the immigrant Chinese and Indians who were given Malayan citizenship in 1957 many Filipinos settled down and gained citizenship when Sabah became part of Malaysia.///–http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/sideviews/article/anwar-exorcising-the-ghost-of-his-umno-past-a.-kadir-jasin/

Kadir Jasin should tell it to Mamakthir that the issue is the transaction citizenship for votes after Sabah became part of Malaysia.

Could anyone tell us how many suits Utusan has lost so far. I think it is about 10 already. More to come.

Don’t expect anything from MCA’s headman Chua Soi Lek we know his B… are tied, but what about all the past MCA presidents who are still alive & kicking, have they no historical knowledge/minutes/papers of the event leading to Malaya’s independence from the British colonial master?

As GE13 is drawing near, I hope Pakatan Rakyat also sense the need to have/organise more frequent get together public forums/meetings to show oneness of the Pakatan Coalition – the next Federal Government.

Utusan Malaysia has been practising gutter journalism for over 30 years. Spreading lies and falsehoods, vilifying UMNO’s opponents and stoking up racial sentiment are its forte anyway. It can’t do all these nonsense without the tacit approval of UMNO. As for mamak drawing a parallel between granting citizenship to 1 million residents in the Federation of Malaya prior to independence and the indiscriminate granting of citizenship in Sabah, I think it is a blessing to Pakatan Rakyat. Ethnic Chinese and Indian fence sitters would know whom to vote now in the coming GE.

DAP should publicly call all Malaysians to condemn TDM for blaming TAR in granting citizenship to the hardworking non Malays during the pre Merdeka era.It was absolutely absurd of him to make such an unwise statement just to try to save himself from falling into the deep hole of Projek M.Anyway TDM should be charged for treason for selling out the country to illegal immigrants to fulfill his political ambition.

Fully agree with beck, that at ceramahs, members should take pains to explain, why prices of daily needs are getting expensive. Who is controlling the prices?
The corruption and mismanagement may not be easily understood by the ordinary folks, but privatization caused the additional burden to the rakyat.
