DAP calls for the immediate release of the 30 Parti Sosialis Malaya (PSM) members, including Sungai Siput MP Dr. Michael Jayakumar in Penang yesterday and an end to the ridiculous police charade that they are trying to revive communism.
I could not believe my eyes when just before being called to the rostrum to speak, I read the online news portal The Malaysian Insider a completely unbelievable news story, entitled:”Bersih supporters nabbed for waging war against King”.
The Yang di Pertuan Agong, the Prime Minister and the government-of-the-day can count on my loyalty and patriotism and that of the DAP in any treasonous war against the King, but we will not lend ourselves to any fictitious claims to justify gross abuse of power and blatant human rights violations against patriotic Malaysians to prevent them from peaceful and democratic exercise of free speech and free assembly.
I read with consternation The Malaysian Insider report and I believe this is also the shocked outrage of Malaysians – with the question bulking large as to how the country has swiftly descended to such macabre farce.
I call on the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to ensure that good sense prevail in his government despite facing the mortal challenge of a peaceful Bersih 2.0 peaceful rally on July 9 calling for free, fair and clean elections – as such a proposed peaceful rally cannot under any stretch of the imagination be equated to a “war against the King”.
In fighting for his political survival, the Najib government and Ministers should not so undermine public confidence in the independence, impartiality, integrity and professionalism of the key national institutions that these pillars of the national system of governance destroys all public and international confidence in them, resulting in loss of foreign investment and a precipitate economic decline.

Najib’s gang of mindless provocateurs are simply out of sync with reality.
UMNO listens to no reason. Its only stand seems to be to win at all costs. Does that mean cheating, bribing, thuggery, brutal use of force?
Why can’t a peaceful march be allowed to proceed under police supervision.
It’s plain and simple. It’s simply plain.
The 2 cousins of Jib and Din have to show some sense of respect for the people. That is malaysians’ constitutional right.

Leadership struggle always need a crackdown on opposition & dissidents exploiting an issue. Incumbent need it to stamp his authority. If he does not do so it would provide contender to galvanise support against incumbent on grounds that incumbent is not effectual in wielding his executive power to quell threats to collective vested interests. In 1969 the excuse was Gerakan/DAP victory celebrations; in 1987 (operation lallang) it was MCA DAP & Gerakan’s protests Education Ministry’s appointments of some 100 senior assistants and principals to vernacular against Chinese schools many of whom were not Mandarin-educated. In 2011 the issue would be Bersih 2.0. The only difference is that in 2011 many Malays from PKR & PAS will be joining the march. So the need to spin harder and bring in racial undertones in attack of Ambiga. The insistence of Perkasa & UMNO Youth (in red shirts against yellow reminiscent of Bangkok’s fight between factions) provide perfect excuse of national security to justify and legitimiose the crackdown. The clamping of Dr. Michael Jayakumar & 30 PSM members is just prelude of more to come if Bersih 2.0 organisers don’t back down.

The arrests of people who want to restore Democracy and win the people back indicate that the government is afraid of the opposition who are poised the win the coming election.Najib should accept that he had come too late to the scene after total damage had been done.

Desperate minds act desperately! It can only reflect that the Power that be has gone bankrupt mentally! Who would advocate socialist socierty when all such societies have all changed to become big-time capitalists? Even if they do, they themselves would be the only followers!

Najip is scared stiff of Bersih because he knows UMNO needs to conduct massive electoral fraud via the EC in order to win the coming GE. Period!

Umno is an injured and cornered animal. We all know that injured and cornered animals can be very very dangerous. They will bite and even killed their own bred or masters. We humans all have instints and behaviours.Animals too have instints and behaviours. But when animals are injured and cornered they cannot think like humans. They panicked and scream, bark like crazy, snarled dangerously and will attack at any moments notice.Their only objective or priority is to escape from their prey at any cost,no matter what are the consequences.Umno is that injured animal.

Soon DAP will be labeled a communist party and banned from participating in the 13GE. PAS will also be labelled an alqaeda party and banned.
