Utusan Malaysia’s daily staple of lies and falsehoods to stoke communal poison and hatred the greatest disservice to Najib’s 1Malaysia slogan and nation-building

Utusan Malaysia’s daily staple of lies and falsehoods to stoke communal poison and hatred, sowing distrust and national disunity, is the greatest disservice to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s 1Malaysia slogan and nation-building.

Mingguan Malaysia today is again at its anti-national worst with its daily diet of lies and falsehoods to poison the political system and undermine the nation-building process when it made the completely wild and baseless charge in insinuating in its editorial that DAP is working towards the goal of making Malaysia a republic and the abolition of the system of Malay rulers.

In its Sunday editorial “Iktibar kemelut Selangor” by Awang Selamat, Mingguan Malaysia insinuated that the lesson to be learnt from the Selangor crisis is that Malaysia will end up a republic if PKR and DAP’s “rule of Selangor continues”, viz:

“Tetapi iktibar daripada kemelut di Selangor itu ialah jika PKR dan DAP memerintah, lagi banyak berlaku kemudaratan. Yang paling pasti, Malaysia akan berada di ambang republik.”

There is no need for me to reiterate the DAP’s public stand down the decades supporting the system of constitutional monarchy in Malaysia.

What Awang Selamat had insinuated are downright lies and falsehoods scraping the very bottom of gutter journalism. In seven paragraphs of “Iktibar kemelut Selangor”, Awang Selamat had told more than seven lies in its multiple objective to disseminate communal hatred and ill-will, even attempting to sow discord among the Pakatan Rakyat parties of PKR, DAP and PAS in the Selangor coalition government.

Under Najib’s premiership and presidency of Umno, Utusan Malaysia has fully transformed from a newspaper into a “liespaper”, diametrically opposed to Najib’s objective of promoting an all-inclusive 1Malaysia media!

If Najib and Umno leaders, as well as the leaders of the other Barisan Nasional component parties, whether MCA, Gerakan, MIC or the Sarawak and Sabah component parties, continue to close their eyes to the daily dosage of lies and falsehoods in Utusan Malaysia to carry out its nefarious objective of pumping communal poison, Malaysians regardless of race, religion, region or socio-economic grouping, are entitled to know what credibility could Najib’s 1Malaysia slogan command whether inside or outside the country.

After 18 months, is there not a single Cabinet Minister, whether Umno, MCA, Gerakan, MIC or Sabah/Sarawak component parties, who dare to raise in the Cabinet next Wednesday the grave issue of Utusan Malaysia’s hatchet job to discredit and dismantle Najib’s 1Malaysia concept with its daily staple of lies, falsehoods and poison to sow communal discord and national disunity?

It is clear that their false reporting is to make you all fire fight every day of the week. Things will get worse as the next GE looms. And many poor, simple, innocent folks will get influenced by all these poop in the media.

Are you all ready for the onslaught? What is your counter strategy?

Pakatan should stage ‘bakar kertas jamban aka Utusan ‘ (translated into mandarin means 5 poison powder) nation wide and show the people of all races that the paper is really mean and useless. The Malaysian public should know that this particular newspaper is the worst among msm and has lost its creditablity.

They are using Utusan and Perkasa as their tool to lie, deceive, mislead, cheat, threaten and blackmail the ignorant and the not so educated people. After achieving that, they will continue to squander and plunder the wealth of the nation until it becomes another Zimbawe.

Utusan is an extension of UMNO political power. UMNO/BN do not control and stifle press freedom for nothing. To blame squarely on those in Utusan is missing the point completely. They are after all prostitutes in three-piece suits which we find plenty everywhere in Malaysia. For 53 years we have always followed the “ideal state” statements and the slogans but never looked at the real actions of the government. Hence, 1Malaysia is nothing more than a continuation of a long line of “farts” from religious freedom, democracy, power sharing, rukun negara to eradication of poverty and building a truly united society. The gulf between declared objectives and actual practices are there for everyone to see since the very beginning and so in what ways 1Malaysia is new. Has it ever occurred to us why after more than 53 years we are still talking about national unity, after more than 30 years we are still talking about the lack of success of NEP, and from merdeka we are still arguing and debating the meaning of freedom, democracy and true equality. Didn’t all these were there in our constitution and the declared policies of the government? You see, if a government is sincere, it does not just create slogans and formulate policies. It sees to it that the true meaning of the slogan and the true objective of the policies are carried out. Here we don’t even have a common meaning of 1Malaysia, so please don’t talk about Utusan not adhering to or sabotaging 1Malaysia. The government has never had the intention to achieve the objective of 1Malaysia (whichever way you choose to define it) in the first place and Utusan is a conduit toward that. Utusan does not need to make commercial profit. It only needs continual support of the ruling party to do its dirty work.

Awang Selamat was talking nonsense. Did not Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim said that he will amend the Selangor constitution to return the power of appointment of the state secretary, financial officer and legal advisor to the Sultan?

Nobody can deny that it was UMNO which stripped away the above power from the sultan in 1993.

Why my comment awaiting moderation until now? Can’t be worst than UM or perkosa right?

///Khalid reiterated that the Selangor government would be making several resolutions later this month to ensure the power of appointment returns to the Sultan and state government.

He also dared Umno to object to the proposed constitutional amendments.

“We will see their true colours, if they really support the Sultan,” he said to cheers from the crowd.///

Awang Selamat must really open his eyes later this month (when Khalid proposes amendments to the Selangor constitution) to see for himself which political party wants Malaysia ends up a republic. The logic is simple – the political party which rejects the amendments is the one which wants Malaysia ends up a republic.

    Well done, Khalid!

    yhsiew,

Sultans and agong have been bought by umno since mamako..te.k.So nothing to expect Khalid can perform miracle at this stage.Remember, twist and twist,at the end umno semua pun boleh lah.Ridiculous as history as it has been and would be but still malaysians will continuously buy expensively the umno and goons’s stories.Enough is enough to say they will be fed forever indefinitely. But not when PR took over putrajaya from putrid jaya.

As wrong as Utusan M is, equally wrong it is for those in power, not to censor them. Not a whisper from Najib or UMNO leaders to rebuke them, must mean that Najib and UMNO agrees with Utusan M. Therein lies the problem. It is Najib and UMNO, and Utusan M is their mouth piece.
Let us all understand that, and do the necessary when GE 13 comes. We need a change. Putrajaya belongs to Malaysians NOT to UMNO.

But if Najib’s strategy is to cheat, squirm, slime and buy his way into his next term, Utusan makes all the sense in the world unfortunately..

Uncle Lim, why is it there hasnt been a pip-squeek from you or other DAP leaders regarding the kidnap and forcible conversion to Islam of Tan Yi Hin – something that any international court of law would readily declare to be child abuse under the UN Convention on the rights of the child????!!!

Utusan Malaysia is the inner voice of UMNO and Najib. That’s why 1Malaysia is all BS
