Every Cabinet Minister and Barisan Nasional component party should take a stand – whether in support of Muhyiddin or Nazri on Perkasa and formation of Chinese, Indian, Iban, Kadazan Perkasas

Two diametrically opposite stand on the recrudescence of racist posturings and outpourings in Malaysia 53 years after Merdeka, 47 years after formation of Malaysia with Sabah and Sarawak and 15 months after Prime Minister’s Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s proclamation of 1Malaysia policy.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz rightly smacked down the ridiculous idea of the MCA Vice President Datuk Lim Siang Chai for a Chinese version of Perkasa to counter Perkasa.

I fully agree with Nazri when he described Siang Chai’s suggestion was “ridiculous” as it would only cause racial tension among the Malays and Chinese at a time when the government should be defusing it.

It is utterly shocking that a Deputy Minister of the Najib administration which advocated a 1Malaysia policy could envisage and even publicly propose the formation of Chinese, Indian, Iban and Kadazan Perkasa to counter the extremist racist posturings and outpourings of Perkasa, as it is a great disservice to five decades of Malaysian nation-building and a total repudiation of Najb’s 1Malaysia policy to create a vibrant, productive and competitive nation where every Malaysian perceives himself or herself as Malaysian first and by race, religion, geographical region or socio-economic group second.

But what is even more shocking is that the MCA Deputy Minister’s ridiculous suggestion of a plethora of ethnically-based Perkasas has the blessings of the Deputy Prime Minister and Umno Deputy President, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who came to Siang Chai’s defence.

In doing so, Muhyiddin has confirmed that he is the foremost opponent of 1Malaysia in Cabinet and government – as he had previously declared publicly that he is a Malay first and a Malaysian second!

The question is whether Muhyiddin will have the upper hand if every Cabinet Minister has to take a stand whether to support Muhyiddin or Nazri on the question of the spawning of ethnic Perkasas in the country.

Every Cabinet Minister and Barisan Nasional component party should take a stand – on support for Muhyiddin or Nazri on the issue of Perkasa and formation of Chinese, Indian, Iban, Kadazan Perkasas in particular and the 1Malaysia policy in general.

If Moo Hee Din can say that he is Malay first and Malaysian second, why can’t Donald Duck say he is Chinese first ? Najib’s 1Malaysia is nothing more than a puerile joke.

///Every Cabinet Minister and Barisan Nasional component party should take a stand – whether in support of Muhyiddin or Nazri on Perkasa and formation of Chinese, Indian, Iban, Kadazan Perkasas?///

Nazri is neither the original conceiver, sponsor and advocate of “1 Malaysia” nor is he the numero ono of the Cabinet (as against its no. 2 Muhyiddin). The PM is.

So before any and every Cabinet Minister and Barisan Nasional component party should take a stand – whether in support of Muhyiddin/Donald on Perkasa and formation of Chinese, Indian, Iban, Kadazan Perkasas or oppose it as Nazri, the question should be directed at the No. 1 Cabinet Minister (the PM) who should take the first lead and make stand, so that the rest can either support Nazri’s position or Muhyiddin/Donald’s position, doesn’t it?

Mooyurin has proven that whatever stand he takes it is only for his own benefit. So when Mooyurin declares that he supports the view of an MCA deputy minister, we can conclude that that MCA deputy minister had been made use of. Yes, the unelected MCA deputy minister is more stupid than he looks.

This is the most boring topic in the world!! It’s the same thing, discussed over and over again. It is like a song that has been widely remixed and covered since its original release, For the sake of the future; we need topics, especially on issues particularly relevant to our country or region (i.e Urge the Government to speed up Scenic Bridge project etc) it seems that DAP is trying extremely hard to gain political mileage out of the rhetoric issue.

Indian Muslims want to be called and treated as Bumiputras. They want to be so classified to change from the position of being discriminated to one qualified to discriminate against others.

The term bumiputras is not recognized in the Federal Constitution. To gain that position as aggressor Indian Muslims have to be converted to Malay Muslims; they will lose their link to their ancestor, like Mamakthir. It would appear that they have no qualm about losing the pride of belonging to their race, so long as they have the opportunities to realizing unfair advantage.

During the pre-independence days in Penang, Indian Muslims in Penang also formed a body to claim that they were of a higher standing than Malay Muslims. Now they want to climb down to the status once they would not want to be associated. If there is no discrimination, the Indian Muslims would not be bothered to be proudly declared member of Bumiputraism. After 53 years at the receiving end, Indian Muslims choose not to work for the ending of the discrimination but choose to be on the side dishing out such unfair practice.

RPK said in London recently that Malaysia is a bankrupt country now, though it might take a while to be financially bankrupt. Judging from the fact that the persons who suffer at the hand of the bullies choose not to end bully but be one among the bullies confirm that socially Malaysia is already bankrupt.

Actually I am a bit confused.

First Muhiyiddin basically made a play at PAS by hinting maybe UMNO is prepare to go 100% Islamic state. Mahfuz basically shot back immediately don’t need to discuss. Najib now says cannot set pre-conditions when talking with PAS when they have not raised it. What is going on?

The reason why PAS is with PR and not with BN is not so much about Islamic state BUT about reform first and foremost. Since UMNO/BN leaders have proven they can’t reform, the only way UMNO/BN can prove its ‘really for the Malays and UMNAH’ is for the core UMNO leaders to resign and hand the govt to PAS. Najib and Muhiyiddin has to agree to hand over the PM to Hadi Awang before anything else can be discussed.

But it seems that Najib, even before PAS point our the logic already says No…

  14. #14 by limkamput on Wednesday, 14 July 2010 - 4:19 pm

Why moo hee din said one thing, Nazri said another and Jib remained in deafening silence? It is all part of the dual track strategy – to show there are both moderates and hardliners in UMNO/BN and Jib is playing the balancing role.

Moo hee din is expected to continue his hardliner role for this is the job assigned to him, and I think he loves it. Of course he will say “other Perkasas” are alright because what he wanted is for Malay Perkasa to continue promoting Malay ultras. Let me predict what he will say next:
PAS and UMNO should merge to consolidate Malay dominance and ketuanan.
Vernacular schools are the cause of disunity among Malaysians
Can you fellows see, Malaysia is “Malay – sia”, see Malays come first, sia come later.

Strange, since he became DPM, I have not been able to recall one statement or one idea that he made which is Malaysian in orientation. Can anyone here help me out?

What do the thieves have in common ? Their misdeeds are known to each other, so it means that Moo holds the b@lls of Najib who holds the b@lls of Nazri who holds the b@lls of Mamakthir….until all 40 thieves have each other by the b@lls.

The gentlemen’s agreement amongst the thieves is that no one should squeeze too hard, but once in a while, someone upsets the apple cart and starts squeezing….Najib’s 1Malaysia is therefore nothing more than a reminder that no one one should squeeze too hard….

What people should point out to Muhiyiddin the only way PAS and UMNO can merge is he is prepared to let Hadi Awang be PM and Nasharuddin Mat Isa as DPM? Unless that is accepted, its not about reform and change i.e., the ordinary Malay and Ummah..

To me, this episode is highly interesting. Its clear that Najib has no idea how to stop the continuing slide of UMNO/BN. But what is revealing is that while more confident, Muhiyiddin don’t have much of plan either. He made an old overture to PAS based on old assumptions when the dynamics have shifted and he don’t see it. While PAS members are concern about support from Malays and Islamic Agenda being derailed, its clear they now understand the agenda for reform must take precedent and increasingly obvious to them that UMNO don’t get and the biggest issue between UMNO and PAS.

Yes, Muhiyiddin is eventual on getting enough support to ease Najib out, if its happens, after the next GE but his views are so narrow, his popularity will also be shortlived. A likely scenario is raising taxes and removing subsidies to get money to spend which will be run out quickly enough He will then come full circle the way Mahathir did on resorting to force to stay in power and much quicker than Mahathir did. He would not likely last more than 1 election either.

This episode makes it clear, UMNO/BN offer nothing for the long term future, it offer some minority group of people especially the UMNOputras short term gains at the expense of long term interest.

For the rest of us, they offer nothing.

Aiyah. Let us have a 1Perkasa and be done with it.

Every race, rat or human, can join. Let them all be together with Khun Eblaheemallee as the head.

  36. #36 by tuahpekkong on Thursday, 15 July 2010 - 8:32 pm

I think we should forget about a Perkasa for every ethnic group. This is because only Katak King & Co. have the right to shout hysterically and memperkosa others with impunity and get away with maybe just a slap on the wrist. Try to emulate Katak King yourself and see what the outcome would be. Actually, Katak King is mainly fighting for his own benefits. Otherwise, how can the people he claims to fight for still remain poor even after 53 years of assitance? His days as a wakil rakyat are numbered. He will be bundled out in the next GE. So he has to project himself as a real fighter for the Malays but the Kelantan Malays are unlikely to give him the votes should he contest again in the next GE.

I guess that is it. So much for nation building.

If our own DPM is willing to endorse racist mongering organizations as the norm, I guess the end of Malaysia isn’t all that far away,

There is no helping it. The rot has already gone deep, very deep, almost to the top. Does Malaysia have any hope?

  38. #38 by Indran on Saturday, 17 July 2010 - 9:48 pm

1 Malaysia to 1 Perkasa. In the spirit of tit for tat, every race can form their own “Perkosa” unit to violate and plunder the other races while enjoying immunity. This is not the most innovative idea. Ku Klux Klan used this idea judiciously during the civil rights movement to preserve white supremacy.

This is a passport for all races to practise racial bigotry without being accused of terrorism or drawing any attention from ISA. Let’s give it a try.

    Perkasa – Malay
    Perkese – Chinese
    Perkisi – Indian
    Perkoso –
    Perkusu –

Since we have run out of vowels, so it will be a fight among the “others” for the last 2 coveted names. May the best race win.
