Karpal attacked by missile torrent of loaded plastic “water bottles”

DAP National Chairman and MP for Bukit Gelugor Karpal Singh was attacked by a missile torrent of loaded plastic “water bottles” by Umno/Barisan Nasional members/supporters at the Bukit Gantang parliamentary by-election nomination centre at Taiping town hall this morning.

At least some 50 to 60 of these missiles were flung at Karpal’s MPV when he arrived at the nomination centre with his wife and supporters.

It was fortunate that there was no physical harm to Karpal and his entourage, and the MPV withstood the missile attacks but not without leaving behind tell-tale signs of the disgraceful, disgusting and despicable incident on the MPV windscreens and bodiwork.

Karpal has subsequently lodged a police report in Taiping against the latest example of growing nastiness and beastliness in Malaysian politics. Only last month, wheelchair-bound Karpal was mobbed by Selangor UMNO Youth goons in the parliamentary precincts seeking to interfere and intimidate him from discharging his parliamentary duties.

Will the police take against the latest UMNO culprits introducing an unacceptable and intolerable culture of violence in Malaysian politics?

Will the new Umno President, Datuk Seri Najib Razak apologise to Karpal for this shameful episode of Umno/BN gutter politics?

Glad to know that Uncle Karpal has no physical harm. Voters at Bukit Gantang must teach the uncivilized BN/UMNO a lesson by voting PKR and ensure PKR can win by a bigger margin this time. I wonder what the police is doing?

That is another example that UMNO’s bad habits die hard.

If anyone has captured the image of these criminals, the evidents should be ‘registered’ in internet/blogs/youtube so that the police will have no excuses not to take action. One example is the ‘correct, correct, correct’ video of Linggam….. If the evident is not ‘registered’ in internet, the case could have been closed without any action.

How the police act on this incident would reflect how much will power that the new administration under Najib has for a ‘change’ or whether it is merely ‘rhetoric, as usual..

If stern action can be taken on the harmless peaceful demonstrators, there is no reason why that the police not to take action on this incident.

To answer this question: Will the police take against the latest UMNO culprits introducing an unacceptable and intolerable culture of violence in Malaysian politics?

    Answer: NO…NO…NO…

To answer this question: Will the new Umno President, Datuk Seri Najib Razak apologise to Karpal for this shameful episode of Umno/BN gutter politics?

    Answer: NO…NO…NO…

I don’t know whether I can live to see the changes in Malaysia. I don’t want my children to grow up in this uncivilized country control by those unbrained ppl in the present government.

Even got evidence also no use…remember the POLICE is control by the present government….remember what happen to the Mongolian woman…even got evidence still see….what happen….

From now on, PR leaders should bring along a video camcorder for recording the vandalism or mob on the PR leaders by UMNO samseng Amok. The video recorded shall then be used against the samseng Amok in a prosecution proceedings in court once PR is able to take over the Federal Government by the next General Election.

It will not be too long for the samseng Amok to escape from the dragnet of the rule of law. If the IGP really wants to show his professionalism disregard his personal political affiliation, then he should take firm action against the samseng Amok now in order to maintain peace and order for the sake of the overall society.

No matter what, Mr Karpal is till the hero of Malaysia for he dares to uphold justice without fear or favour even though he had been poised with intimidation from violent vandalism and mob in many occasions!

May God release more of His anointing to this righteous man Mr Karpal and keep giving Mr Karpal the much needed shelter and protection from the targeted malicious attack by the samseng devils!

to be fair, there was a broken window on 1 of the cars driving into the Sultan Perak’s Palace when it was decided that the Perak DUn was not to be dissolved.

the difference though is that in 1 incident, people’s justified outcry was not allowed to be satisfied in legitimate and fair channel while the incident highlighted by Uncle Kit above comes from intimidation, want of intelligence to be able to fight in war of words hence not unlike babies throwing a tantrum when unable to express his needs in adult language.

Violence has no place in Malaysia. The top people in UMNO AGM talk about change and move towards a more acceptable stance for the people

    I rest my case

Is that the reform that Najib is talking about in the just concluded UMNO general assembly, or is that the message given out?

Najib and UMNO better stand up clear and unmistakable in this unsavory, blatant and abhorrent act. Else, the rakyat should send the loudest protest yet to UMNO.

Malicious, atrocious, barbaric, primitive, infantile, uncivilized, stupid, arrogant, idiotic, UMNO-centric, celaka, etc., etc. are what could be said of those who threw objects at Karpal’s direction.

Who should the rakyat choose in the Bkt Gantang by-election?

These celaka UMNO scumbags were impatient to let Malaysians know of their samseng and hooligan behavior…nothing surprising though.

PR is dealing with a bunch of ruffians who are clutching on to the cheque book, army and police. This is the time when that stroke of genius is required to finish off UMNO once and for all. Perhaps that long awaited photograph of Altantunya and Najib in Paris will do the trick

It will be fun to watch UMNO’s own members turn against their fresh leader right in the midst of 3 by-elections

  12. #12 by DAP man on Sunday, 29 March 2009 - 10:32 pm

No action will be taken as the police is subservient to UMNO. In fact UMNO can take action against the police which is an obedient lapdog.

Unbelievable!!! Besides no police action taken, not even one UMNO leader has come out to condenn such dastardly act by its members. All peace loving rakyat have a responsibility to help check this rotten culture from ever taking root in our civilise society. Send a very strong signal to the ruling party that Malaysians did not, will not and never will accept politics of intimidations by UMNO/BN. Vote them out. Start with the 3 by-elections on 7.4.09. Let PR win BIG, otherwise these uncouth people will not learn their lessons.

‘Torrent’? Maybe you could ask TM to throttle them.

The advice above to keep detailed records of all this stuff is absolutely spot on. I wonder whether evidence will be more useful in the future, or now – when you can show it to people who might otherwise only see one side on TV and in the newspapers.

They admin the governments like under a bunch of gansters of corruption.

You must stop them to admin Malaysia for the new generation.

UMNO love corruption and threaten people to get power.

Please stand up and vote for justice and fairness.

I welcome all the pakatan rakyat leaders to Taiping, sorry for the incident this morning, the crowd was overwhelmingly huge at the PR side but the UMNO TV just showed the umno part.
I’ve been attending ceramah of PAS leaders at kampung, as the only Malaysian with Chinese ethnic there, I felt that more of the Malaysian Chinese should come out and join in the wave of reform, instead of the “cari makan” excuses, they are just too selfish, even from the crowd during the nomination of candidate here, clearly shown that most people are our malay brothers, we must get united, or we havent solve the problem completely yet, after 51 years of nation building.
By the way, how dare the umno racists set foot at my lovely hometown, to najib, muhiddin, mukhriz, koh tsu koon, ong tee keat, get lost!

The danger is this. Najib need not actually direct or instruct the Tuan Rempit McBullys to carry out those attacks, suppression and arrests. Despite requests by LKS and warning by badawi (both of which were made openly), Najib has never categorically announce that he will not use oppressive tactics to suppress political dissents. And didnt he lead a large gathering of umnoputras in stadium negara years ago with the pronounced intent to burn down the chinese assembly hall and petaling street? And the rumour that has been floating up and down the country and beyond about the part he played in seefouring the mongolian woman – a rumour which he has never taken any proactive or categorical step to clear apart from issuing mere denials and swearing on the koran – has given, righly or wrongly, a brash and iron fisted and ruthless dimension to his character. Because of all these reasons, the Tuan Rempit McBullys will, again rightly or wrongly, perceive his appointment as PM as an open licence to carry out and implement what they would interprete as approprite and in line with najib’s brash, iron fisted, ruthlesshey, oppressive suppression of the people.

The mere presence of the man is already a menace to the country. With mahathir now back in the picture – didnt he ridicule LKY by declaring that when he retires he would leave politics altogether and write books to say bad things about singapore and LKY – the whole country will be taken on a ride in reverse gear. Hopefully the ride does not take us too far back. I for one do not want to see may 13. At the same time, I have no trust or faith in najib, mamak and gang that they would not do so. They never listen to the people. They never will.

They only way to stop that is through the poll. 308 has demonstrated to us how powerful very powerful and useful and effective the piece of paper we hold in our hand and tick every five years is. In other words, vote them out of parliament. Vote them out of state assembly. Show them our voice in the three coming by-elections.

UMNO is a party for thieves, robber, murder suspect and thugs. That’s why no one from umno has come out to condemn such thuggery act. And now you have the police coming out with most ridiculous statement that Karpal and his group took the wrong route as if this was some kind of a territory controlled by umno gangsters. Maybe it is, I supposed.

Karpal took wrong route, say police

TAIPING: Police have blamed DAP national chairman Karpal Singh for “encroaching” into Barisan Nasional “territory” which led to an altercation near the nomination centre for the Bukit Gantang by-election.

Perak police chief Deputy Commissioner Datuk Zulkifli Abdullah said Karpal Singh had taken the wrong route to enter the Taiping Municipal Council Hall instead of the one assigned to supporters of the opposition parties.

In the incident, Karpal Singh’s Toyota MPV with seven people inside was pelted with plastic water bottles by Barisan supporters at 10.45am.

He later lodged a police report at the district police headquarters.

Speaking to reporters here, DCP Zulkifli said the police had allocated different routes to Barisan and opposition supporters to prevent clashes.

“Maybe Karpal Singh did not know about that.

“He should have listened to our advice,” he said, adding that the incident would be investigated

    My opinion:
    That police is a moron.

What Karpal did (in which the police claim that he used the ‘wrong’ route) wasn’t a crime and he doesn’t deserve to be blamed for what had happened.

What the BN supporter did was premeditated for the purpose to intentionally assault a person without realizing the potential damage that they would cause to that person or other innocent people around him.

They planned and prepared water bottles and air pump for that purpose.

I only imagine if the rocket actually hit some innocent people at the eyes and blinds them, what would happen then?

What if those rockets happen to break windows or make objects from high heights fall down hitting innocent people?

To me, it is forseenable that innocent people get hurt by the actions of those BN supporters. Water rockets have the tendency to fly around hitting a target without accuracy depending on the shape of the rocket itself.

In the worst case senario, those people should be charge for the attempt to murder/negligence because they have to be responsible with their reckless actions without considering the possibility that people will get hurt from this.

Nevermind all the things I’ve said, because we certainly have the police to ‘protect’ us.

The police seems to be allowing people to attack opposition party members because nothing bad was mentioned about those BN supporters.

UMNO/BN goons speak about change. They speak about rebranding, reinventing and being people-centric, but unfortunately they are not able to walk the talk.

Change could have taken place if AAB was given the room and support by the UMNO warlords. They did the opposite to show him the exit so that they can continue to plunder, rape and sodomise the country with the help of the AG, Judiciary, MACC and of course the corrupted police.

It is good to see the ARROGANT ways of the UMNO and the police. They fail to realize that each and every lunatic action of theirs to imtimidate the opposition YBs and the rakyat are going to BACKFIRE on them.

They seem to be hellbent on winning the Bukit Selambau election by the number of independent candidates standing for election. Even a political novice would know that the independents do not stand a chance. They only STAND TO LOSE THEIR DEPOSITS. But if some sugar daddy is willing to put up the money just to cash on split and spoilt votes, why not?

The UMNO/BN is so myopic that they still think that the people are illiterate, uneducated and not intelligent enough to see through their stupidity. The 3 by-=elections especially the one in Bukit Gantang will show once and for all who the people of Perak want to lead them. Najis and his henchmen should see that the results would be a resounding slap to their thick faces.

UMNO goons should continue to throw water bottles at all the opposition MPs and their supporters. That would galvanize to send the BN candidates to where they belong: the FILTHY GUTTER of UMNO/BN politics.

  30. #30 by taiking on Monday, 30 March 2009 - 2:19 pm

The police in effect is creating a new defence of justification in criminal law. The police is saying that those umno idiots are justified in commiting the crime of assult because of karpal’s mistake in using the wrong road.

Cant imagine how more stupid they can get than that.

The lion did say that they are ‘celaka’.
Now, they have already proven, once not so long ago in Parliament, and again, recently in Taiping, that the lion’s words are true…

I must say, people here in Australia really appreciate their police for risking their lives in the line of duty. I certainly believe that these police deserve my respect as well as the public.

Malaysian police however, with police like that, forget it!

I honestly find them very uneducated. Sure, I can’t say that to all those ‘fine’ Malaysian police. However, I certainly question the qualifications of our police today.

I mean, do they really respect the law enough to really enforce them? Do they actually know what the law is?

The last time I remember, the law was to protect the weak and punish the guilty. Nothing like that happened in this case.

So, if a girl use the dark path to go home at night but end up being raped, would that police blame the girl for being raped and spare the rapist?

Enough about the police, RELA and the Bomba are also useless.

There was an event in Miri (I think 2 years ago). I was at that event when some arsonist start a fire in the forest. As a ‘responsible’ citizen as ‘I am’, I took the responsibility to inform this to the nearest RELA and Bomba personal (which was located quite far away).

But our ‘great’ RELA and Bomba personal, not only are they given the VIP sit, they rather watch the event instead of responding to my report.

Nevermind the fact that they could at least send 1 person to bring a fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire when its small. I was more than willing to escort them to the ‘crime scene’. But they would rather wait and watch until the fire spread till the point that ‘heavy’ smoke is visible near the crowd suffocating them.

The event had to be put on hold that day because of the fire.

Such great police, RELA, and fire fighters Malaysia has.

  34. #34 by bra888 on Tuesday, 31 March 2009 - 1:42 pm

I also want to take this opportunity to say that some Malaysians are dumb.

I mean, nevermind that the fire was still spreading near the crowd, watching the event is somewhat more important. Watching the event somewhat comes first before breathing smoke.

Some people have to straighten out their priorities.
