UMNO power-crazy? Yes, says Pak Lah…

Is Umno power-crazy?

I had said in Parliament (video) that if Umno is not power-crazy (gila kuasa), it would not have suffered the shattering defeat in the political tsunami in the last general election of March 8, 2008.

For speaking truth to power, I was suspended from Parliament yesterday.

Now, outgoing UMNO President and Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has admitted as much that Umno is power-crazy.

In fact, he even gave five illustrations of Umno being so power-crazed as to create a crisis of credibility and erosion of public trust in Umno.

According to Abdullah, the five factors resulting in Umno becoming power-crazy are as follows:

• longevity in power has led to complacency and a number of Umno leaders are increasingly out of touch with the ordinary people who have been the source of Umno’s strength for so long.

• relative neglect of the rural community in our desire and intent to achieve developed nation status.

• ineffectiveness of Umno political programmes in reaching out to the younger generation, apart from what is already being implemented by various governmental institutions.

• prolonged conflict among ourselves, especially while competing for positions within the party, has eroded the spirit of fraternity among party members.

• materialism has seeped into the party, making a number of party members greedy and avaricious, hence creating the negative perception that Umno is a corrupt party.

UMNO MPs who got their pound of flesh yesterday by getting me suspended from Parliament had done Umno the greatest disservice by hoisting the denial syndrome on all levels of Umno.

Pak Lah say the Chinese seldom support BN is totally butsit. For the pass 22 years under the old hat and for the fist term PAk Lah has been voted in with huge majority the Support was tremendous from Chinese.

Remember Jef Ooi say during last election he has supported BN for two election so he slapped himself with his left and right hand.
I was worst my two left and right hand was not enough i have to used my left and right foot too for supporting BN for such a long time.

It was BN own doing and now he claim Chinese has not been supporting BN. We have been disappointed for supporting BN because they have failed us miserably. Most Chinese have been giving out hope on BN and they are now with PR.

Isn’t that abuse of power under MACC Act?

I believe the mould of simply supporting BN has been broken in the last GE.
Nowadays people are more willing to discuss issues. Also don’t forget many older folks are missing their children who have gone overseas for good.

Haven’t we known this for the last 50 years? So what’s new about UMNO? The same old, same corrupt, same racist party.

This is what happens when one is in power for far too long. Power is like a seductress. Once she gets hold of you or vice versa it’s so hard to release/escape. Eventually death & destruction is the only inevitable conclusion.
May UMNO forever NOT rest in peace.

    TAK BERI(rasuah)…KALAH
    YANG TAK SALAH, TELAH KALAH
    UMNO RETAK MENANTI BELAH

AB can only make such an honest speech upon his exit.

Had he made such remark while still in office, he would most probably be ostracised by his party.

At least there is still one decent man in UMNO.

Like the story in Arabian Nights goes ” ……. and behind ALI BABA followed the 40 thiefs……………”

the next line”…………..and unto the night go there goes those who shall rob the innocent”

    Get It! Got It!

What struck me about Badawi in his parting speech is his loyalist stand. The man is incredibly sentimental about it. Its a little perverted if you ask me. Even assuming UMNO has done good for your race, if you are a critical thinker, you would realise that political parties are vehicles of ideas and since ideas must change and ideology is never perfect and must change so all political parties are temporary.

The inability of Badawi to see that its ideas and ideals that should supreme rather than any party that may or may not work towards those ideas and ideals, shows fundametally he just never got it and the real danger is many if not most in UMNO also just don’t get it. The trapped mind is why UMNO is power crazy because they cannot concieve the idea of failures and alternatives of the establishment.

Aiyah…typical of BN/UMNO. Cover the truth and propagate lies. Sometimes when you lie enough, you begin to think its the truth.
