Vandalism and desecration of the Democracy Tree plaque has been completed in a three-day nefarious operation.
There is now not a trace of the Democracy plague or relic at the historic Democracy Raintree in Ipoh.
Ipoh City Council workers in a lorry and tractor were sighted at the site this morning at about 7.30 am this morning to “cleanse” the site, removing every bit and piece of the Democracy Monument.
Even the signposts for the five Democracy saplings were not spared.
This is the work of people who are mortally afraid of a Democracy monument and Democracy Tree – not realizing that they should be more afraid of the Democracy spirit in the hearts and minds of Perakians and Malaysians
The nefarious three-day operation to complete the vandalism and desecration of the Democracy plaque has only highlighted the fundamental legitimacy problem of the usurper Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Zambry Abdul Kadir as well as the legitimacy of the impending sixth Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Najib Razak in orchestrating the divisive, undemocratic, unethical, illegal and unconstitutional power grab in Perak and neglecting his responsibilities as the Finance Minister to single-mindedly rally and unite Malaysians to tide Malaysia through the world’s worst global economic crisis in a century.
Perakians and Malaysians must tell Najib and Zambry – You can vandalise and desecrate the Democracy plaque, but you cannot quash and destroy the democracy spirit burning ever stronger in the hearts of Malaysians.
Even the former Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad has acknowledged that the power grab in Perak, orchestrated by Najib, was illegitimate, undemocratic, illegal and unconstitutional.
If Najib wants to be a Prime Minister for all Malaysians, and not just for Zambry, Umno, MCA, Gerakan, MIC, and the rest of the BN component parties, then dissolve the Perak State Assembly and return the mandate to the Perakains to choose the government they want!

Hey, you can’t blame people from removing the plaque and signposts. During this plague of economic recession, the plaque and signposts are worth some money to be auctioned off in eBay.
So, look at the bright side. Some enterprising individuals, whether BN or PR supporters, may be grateful to PR for the opportunity to make some money during this hard time.
But watch out, the poor tree may be chopped down and auctioned off branch by branch in eBay too!

It is so obvious who ordered the removal of the Democracy Raintree plaque in Ipoh! I suppose the next thing these people will do will be to chop down the historic and memorable tree. It will be a very sad and shameful day for democracy in Perak if it happens. To them, the tree is an eyesore and bear testimony to the illegal grab of power by the BN!
Whatever it is, the spirit of democracy will never be doused by such acts of vandalism! Long live Democracy!

Dr M merely said that the power grab by BN and Najib was done in haste and did not follow proper procedures, leading to doubts about its legitimacy.
For all you know, the Federal Court might rule that “semua-nya OK” despite all the irregularities. They can always find some loopholes and reasons for their decision whether these be palatable or not. And Najib and Zambry will rule the day with a major victory. And the Sultan and the Royalty will be vindicated. So wait for it.

This was normal because they know they have done something serious wrong and unethical. How can you imagine when you have done something wrong and you put up a permanent structure for all to remember your wrong doing, am sure those guys will try all out to destroy it. This shown that they have admitted thier wrong doing and shameful about what they have done.
Whether they admit openly or not is no longer important, and whether the finding of the court is this or that also no important but the mere fact that they are so afraid of this plate of remembrance has proof everything. I am sure people will not destroy the Tugu Pahlawan as this was honor, but if the plate is for you to remember something yet people do not like it to the estent want to destroy it show it all.
By the way the father who condone the “CORRUPT” ha sopen his golden mouth as say some thing like they are wrong to grab back Perak in that unlawful manner.

Agreed with you Sdr Lim. Btw MBI is very selfish and unfriendly to us rate payers. When we go to pay our assesment bills,there is just a row for parking our cars, whereas the others(at least 10 rows) are reserved for their own workers.Why there are even nice covered cars parks too.(aircon carparks I’ll supposed next??)These local govt has shown us the fine example of how to treat guests.As a parent I had a hard time explaning to my children. If you want to keep the symbolism of the so called ‘illegitimate, undemocratic, illegal and unconstitutional’ power grab in Perak “alive” in the minds of Perakians – and yet prevent the symbol being destroyed by vandals or carted away by Ipoh City Council workers in wee hours of the morning – you have to place that symbol, whether in the form of a tree, message or meaningful words in a prominent place where everyone can see, and yet no one could get to it!
That place would, I imagine, be the night skies. Get the technology and the kind of projector that could beam the message up to the night skies, when it is not cloudy or raining, where all Perakians could see and be reminded of 303.
The equipment could be placed in a roof of a private building which no outsider could access or break in without committing unlawful trespass.
We probably have no laws prohibiting anyone from beaming “lawful” messages to the skies for all to see at this moment.

Look at the brighter side the BN has perform some crown show to relief the worries that the people carry with them during the un-precedent financial crisis.
Malaysian people get worry by the day as the crisis get deepen by the day. there was not any good news around the world yet this crazy guys from Bn has create such a mess at the some time a crown show so to speak.
It was unfortunate that the head also being involved and seeing being used by the crazy bunch of people.
So have some lough if you wish, and keep whacking you anger away during this stressful period.
It is also reported that suicide rate is on the rise and it is going to happen very soon as the Mr. Sandwich man from the up north has predicted when the remaining hope vanish in the next 12 months when the going concern concept no longer apply to their business many will jump this route to get thing over, but in Malaysia, at least we this crown shown to watch before any one wish to chose that route.
If any one so to chose may be can chose to jump from the Rain Tree thus create another symbolic that \democracy ‘ has died in Perak and so to say in Malaysia. May those wish to chose can jump with a plaque in their pocket. If one may afraid jumping from the tree will not serve the purpose may chose to hang instead, that will sure to achieve the purpose.
Mean time the crown show directed by bn will be on and more series is on the pipe line.
So if any one wish to chose to end your life in such a stupid way may have to think twice since the crown show is on going, so that you may not regret later on.

Nowadays there is a proliferation of stickers and bills on telephone booths, public parks, lamp-posts, etc advertising money-lending, prostitution, foot massages but these are all OK compared to a harmless plaque under a tree.
These town council people are totally beholden to BN, so when the time comes to cut down the grass, make sure you remove the roots as well.

I remember few months ago, the MP for Ipoh Barat, M Kulasegaran was running for Ipoh mayorship… seeing all 3 MP seats and 9 ADUNs seats under Ipoh City council are captured by the DAP…
Alas, the PAS and PKR don’t like the idea by putting up several excuses such as “an MP shouldn’t assume a mayor’s role”… never mind the fact that we have tons of Mayors out there who at the same time are MP/State assemblypersons etc…
The truth is, many of them reject the proposal of appointing him as mayor just because… well he’s from DAP… period…
Anyway, the mayorship was then passed on to the “pro-BN” candidate, i.e. the pre-308 BN appointed city secretary…
I can’t help but sniggering and thinking what would happen if the PR state government was courageous enough to just send one of their man/woman to assume the position of Ipoh Mayor…

I don’t think it would make a difference if someone from PR had become the Ipoh Mayor, never mind the fact that the post is an inherent conflict of interest with elected representatives. The little Napoleons will run rings around him. Wait till after the next elections, whether it is in 2013 or earlier if PR wins its court cases and abolishes the Perak assembly. Then pension off all the heads and deputy heads of departments of the town council. It’s the only way.

Its one thing to fight with everything you got, its quite another to fight with little principle and only thing matter is winning. Even in war, there are unacceptable conduct. These days there is even a court (ICJ) to leaders of any country who go too far. UMNO/BN political machinery is so out of control that it does not recognise these basic principle just as it has forgotten a lot of principles of the founding of this nation and its original intent.
Why even do this? Sheer stupidity if you ask me. People are going to remember in these digital age. It just tells voters BN is just mean and ugly inside and mean and ugly people just cannot be trusted.
Govt is not about just technicality, its about larger principles and spirit that people want to be protected from. Those Malaysian principles and spirit include being generous and tolerant even to those that hate us much less those that only want their voices heard. To be mean is not Malay, its in fact very unMalay. Most Malays would feel shameful to be part of these kinds of spirit.
It just proves an UMNO/BN is a foreign subversive enemy of the state.

I suggest PR get China to make fire crackers bursting out..with the words….”Democratic Tree” bursting out on top of the said tree….every year….making it a Perak Day holiday…once they lawfully win back their lawful rights….cutting out few holidays that keep promoting one religion..where the followers go on holidays to enjoy..instead of filling up mosques to pray.
This shows…..vast majority Muslims…are open minded and not hypocrites..or fanatics…enjoying the holidays……as it should be.
Good hearts does not mean you need to pray 5 times a day..in mosques. You keep praying 24 hours a day..in your mind and heart…for the rest of your life.

Heck in fact all other scultures in the christian’s cemetary was smashed to smitherens. .

A message could nowadays be projected with laser to the sky (They got the idea from Batman projecting his logo to the night sky). They have this in Las Vegas. To illegalise light patterns like these (flashed intermittently) they have to get Aviation Administration to say that that these laser beams distract and temporarily impair aircraft personnel’s vision during critical and sensitive flight periods – assuming the place is near airport. :)

It’s expected.
Zambry & his fellow UMNOputras had called the under-the-tree-assembly a shameful embarassment, and labelled the commemoration plaque a sign of disrespect to HRH Sultan of Perak.
So, it was just a matter of time for them to have their minions in MBI remove the plaque, and before doing so, perpetrators have already vandalised the plaque twice in 2 successive nights.
But if these perpetrators had done this because they truly believe that this plaque is an illegal symbol that threatens the legitimacy of Zambry’s state govt, why did they commit the act under the cover of darkness in the middle of the night like criminals?
Are these perpetrators afraid that if they had vandalised the plaque in broad day light, their identities will be known to the majority of Perak citizens who had voted PR into power a year ago?
Can I hazard a guess that this plaque cost PR very much less than USD50k?
That’s the amount the minions of the federal govt are willing to pay the Russians for our first angkasawan’s space suit.
Must be thanks in no small part to the RM60 billion generosity of ‘Mr. Stimulus’…
On brighter note, the Putrajaya court of appeal had last Friday ruled that the Perak state assembly speaker, V.Sivakumar, has the right to appoint his own lawyers to represent him in those two Ipoh high court cases. However, the same Ipoh high court JC will still preside over those two cases, which means that Sivakumar may still face some obstacles…

Illegal Ah Long/loan-shark signboards were not that quickly removed because it is PR that threatens UMNO-BN’s hold on power, not Ah Longs or loan-sharks.
Before MBI finally removed whatever that was remained of the plaque, pro-UMNO-BN vandals had to stealthily damage & deface the plaque in the middle of the night because they did not want to do it in the light of the day and risk facing the people of Perak who are unhappy with the Perak state govt take-over by UMNO-BN without an election.
If these vandals truly believe that Zambry & co. actually has the support of the people to run the state govt. legitimately, why should they be afraid of doing it in broad daylight?

Talking about Loan Shark Banners / Posters, the situation had gotten worse! Even now, the loan sharks put up banners up the Federal Highway’s gantry girder. This is also seen in Jalan Kuching.
Sorry. I know this is not related to Ipoh but it looks like no action is taken against these loan sharks. What is Barisan doing about it ? I am sure the loan shark menace would spread. Why Barisan is not interested to remove loan shark posters that can “indirectly” harm the lives of many but they are more interested to remove a symbol of Justice and Democracy ????

No matter what they do to our good deeds, we should not be too angry for they will face the music some day, one day. For now, there’s seriously nothing we could do as they’re just too strong.
They’re the Goliaths, while the rest of us are the Davids. If we keep pursuing our wish for a democratic country, some day, BIG Goliaths will tumble with a very loud thud.
Rules still have to be followed and our spirits must sustain to achieve victory.
