A totally synthetic crisis

The Police is creating a totally synthetic crisis out of nothing, as no gathering or demonstration is being planned by Pakatan Rakyat in or near Parliament tomorrow.

Police roadblocks, causing massive traffic jams in Kuala Lumpur today and which will be even worse tomorrow, are not only pointless but completely unwarranted and unjustifiable.

As no gathering or demonstration in or around Parliament is being organised by Pakatan Rakyat tomorrow, the news report below paints a very surreal situation in the Federal capital:

July 13, 2008 21:01 PM

Police Tell Public Not To Join Tomorrow’s Assembly

KUALA LUMPUR, July 13 (Bernama) — Police today obtained a court order prohibiting the public from participating in the assembly in front of Parliament House, here tomorrow morning.

Sentul District Police Chief, ACP Ahmad Sofian Md Yassin said the gathering tomorrow was illegal and reminded the public that those participating in the assembly, which did not have a permit, would be charged under the Police Act 1967.

“We did not receive any application from the individuals who planned to hold the gathering,” he said at a media conference at his office, here Sunday.

He said anyone participating in the gathering would be investigated under Section 27(5) of the Police Act 1967 and could be fined not less than RM2,000 and not more than RM10,000 or a jail term of at least one year or both upon conviction.

Ahmad Sofian said several roadblocks around Kuala Lumpur had been set up beginning this afternoon until midnight tomorrow.

Several police personnel had also been deployed at strategic points and public places.

It is learnt that the gathering tomorrow was being organised by certain parties to protest against the fuel price hike.

In another development, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said in a statement tonight that he and Pakatan Rakyat were not involved in organising the assembly at Parliament House tomorrow.

“I regret that the police had linked my name and Pakatan Rakyat in obtaining an exparte Magistrate’s Court order by the Sentul District Police Chief dated July 13, 2008,” he said.

He said the court order was slanderous and was an abuse of the legal process.

Anwar said he would instruct the Pakatan Rakyat lawyers to initiate legal action to set aside the order.

    Magical, Extraordinary, Superb, Supreme…

    A Three-In-One happening in KL?

Minister ban public from entering parliament house + Police gets court order + 5 km ban on Sdr. Anwar.

What is going on in Malaysia?

What is the logic? What is the intention?

Who is spreading rumors about impending mass demonstration in parliament tomorrow?

The police and the rakyat are confused and panicky over the deteriorating political stability in the country because AAB’s government, after Tsunami 308, was unable to restore calm and confidence in the people.

PR must move in fast to take over federal government to restore peace (since AAB’s government has failed to do it) before the situation gets out of control and before in-fighting for power within UMNO escalates.

  5. #5 by assamlaksa on Monday, 14 July 2008 - 12:34 am

the police tells the rakyat that there is suppose to be a gathering by PR but when the gathering did not materialise, the BN can say PR’s gathering did not receive the support of rakyat.

but on the other hand if PR takes over the federal government, do you think BN will sit down do nothing? I think more illegal demonstration will be forthcoming, just look at KOMTAR when LGE becomes the CM.

Communal and race-based politics in Malaysia must be changed in order that not a single political party or its members ( especially divisional leaders) are in the position to alter any policies or agenda to their own narrow interest at the expense of the larger community.

Seems like the elected representatives in the august parliament house have lots of work to do to achieve this : people-friendly and people-oriented policies, rather than the political party sided ones which are causing lots of unfair and unjust situations in the country.

What they have done is to fabricate evidence to justify police action. People should not then be surprised if later Parliament is suspended and a state of Emergency declared. Does that sound familiar??

Police roadblocks all over Kuala Lumpur are really dirty execise directed by UMNO – Idiot..!!!

Abdullah Badawi’s statement on handing over to Najib in 2010 are just a game plan of buying – in making sure to firm-up Khairy.

UMNO – Please help me to answer these:

Senaraikan perkara berikut ( itupun kalau adalah) :

    A. Sepuluh jasa yang telah dilakukan oleh UMNO untuk kebahagian orang Melayu sepanjang 5 tahun pemerintahan Abdullah Badawi.

    B. Sepuluh jasa yang telah dilakukan oleh Barisan Nasional untuk kesejahteraan rakyat Malaysia sepanjang 5 tahun pemerintahan Abdullah Badawi.

If UMNO fail to answer my A and B, than its confirmed that UMNO adalah parti pemusnah bangsa Melayu dan Barisan Nasional adalah perosak negara.

Justeru, bangsa Melayu wajib musnahkan UMNO sebelum UMNO terus menjahanamkan Melayu.

Manakala rakyat Malaysia seluruhnya wajib tumpaskan Barisan Nasional, sebelum Barisan Nasional terus-menerus memporak-perandakan lagi negara kita yang tercinta ini.

    Hidup UMNO untuk siapa?
    Betulkah UMNO untuk Melayu?
Atau Hidup UMNO untuk tipu Melayu?

This plot was hatched to inconvenient the people with mass traffic jams so that the ignorant among them would blame PR for causing the snarl-up. Perception is everything in politics. By painting the Opposition in a bad light, they hope to sway the wrath of the populace away from the Badawi government while portraying Anwar as a trouble maker. We are stupid, ya?

    Dear YB LKS,

    G. W. F. Hegel quotes :

“What experience and history teach is this – that people and governments never have learned anything from history, or acted on principles deduced from it.”

    Alex Haley quotes :

“Unless we learn from history, we are destined to repeat it. This is no longer merely an academic exercise, but may contain our worlds fate and our destiny.”

It is the typical “CHAOS” theory application…

Provoke Chaos, NOC could “kick in”.

    The NOC could kick in….

PM-to-be may see his dreams come true…by default!

History could repeat itself….. like father like son !

On the otherhand KJ & his 4th floor boys could do the dirty to remove PM-to-be & take over NOC & appoint Him self or his nominee as PM!

Who knows….with DIVINE intervention…BN could collapse with all its skeletons bursting out from its “Pandora’s Wardrobe” !

Possible scenario…Malaysia could have its first Woman PM to do this nation & its Downtrodden rayaat proud…! No???

    Meanwhile Malaysians can either :

    Dream on…

    Migrate to ???…

    Continue suffering….

My advise – Reposition themselves & family, fasten their seatbelts tight…to safely ride the Political / Financial Tsunami, etc.

    Cheers.

Now, how is Anwar going to report to Travers or Bukit Aman to give statement. Both fall under 5km radius. So if he go he breach the so called court order but if didn’t he would be breaking the CPC. Kesian. And congratulation to the magistrate who issued the order according to democratic principles and based on evidence.

    The police deceived the courts!
The magistrate should have asked for proof of an impending rally – leaflets or print out from web sites.
Looks like the police is using a crystal balls or bomohs to predict opposition rallies.
How on earth can a court order be served by pasting it all over the city.
How stupid can the police get.

DPM Najib said that PR’s no confidence motion was a political ploy; that was no provision for such a motion under the House’s Standing Order; that it has no chance of making it through the Dewan Rakyat; that even if the motion was put to a vote, the motion would fail as the opposition did not have enough MPs to carry it through.

Well if there’s little chance that the no-confidence motion will pass, the Speaker should allow the motion to be debated today. Surely there is advantage from BN’s viewpoint in giving Anwar a drubbing on his high profile prediction of having secured sufficient cross-overs to take over the government on September 16th (though others may interpret that a defeat of such a motion would still boost the confidence of the Opposition in their bid to take over the government). For there is no escape from it (this challenge of no-confidence), direct or indirect. It is only a matter of time. If the Speaker does not allow it, the Opposition will wait for the next government’s motion to try defeat it, indirectly proving its loss of majority. So what is the difference? Maybe it is timing; maybe the ruling coalition calculates facing it later is more advantageous than now.

Be that as it may, so what is the real reason for this ‘totally synthetic crisis’ of heavy police presence?

Some guesses : to prevent and diffuse a potential massive demonstration by PR supporters due to:

    (a) Speaker’s rejecting the no-confidence motion for debate?
    (b) Speaker’s allowing it, and no-confidence motion carried?
    (c) Preempt Arrest of the de-factor PR’s head today? After all Anwar did say, “I don’t know what will happen to me next week. Maybe I have to go to court. Maybe they will put me in the lock up without any bail.”

The BN’s keepers have too many skeletons in the closet. It is therefore not conceivable that they would allow the PR to just defeat the government by a no-confidence motion enabled by crossovers by BN’s MPs!

The implication of such a motion carried is that the PM and the cabinet must resign and Parliament dissolved to pave way for another general election to determine the coalition with the clear mandate.

There is no reason to think that the BN would fare better, at this point of time, than 8th March 2008. With the unpopular petrol hike and internal factionalism, the prospect of BN’s faring very much worse is on the cards.

The spectre of an emergency rule therefore looms if Anwar presses on with his agenda of no-confidence vote backed by ‘people’s power’ on the streets. There is also little room for manoeuvre left for him : the authorities appear bent on proceeding inexorably to the stage of arresting and charging him for sodomy. And he knows that this time around they will be more careful in prosecuting the charge, and therefore will have less qualms – nay much of a choice – other than ameliorating his predicament by the last option of rallying confrontation on the streets especially against the backdop of widespread public distruct of the impartiality of the Criminal Justice System.

This so called “synthetic crisis” is likely created to address and pre-empt this challenge from Anwar. As the drama unfolds, we will have a clearer picture.

Is that why the police and military was having the exercise ? The show of force to the citizens of Malaysia to remind them that “DO NOT PLAY PLAY WITH BN – THE RULERS AND GODS” of Malaysia ?

Why no show of force with BN member had a demo when they lost the Malaysian state ? I would not be surprised if suddenly BN goes amok and riot when things do not go their way in Parliament. The “if you can’t win with votes – do it with a good old fashion riot” – best part is the police and military will already be there to join in.

  28. #28 by taiking on Monday, 14 July 2008 - 9:38 am

Its odd for the police to ask the court to sanction the discharge of their public functions. In fact it is odd the for court to issue such order. It must be an exparte application. So we have no knowledge of the justification put forth by them before the court.

It is their statutory duty to maintain public order. They have sufficient powers to do so. Would the court issue an order to cover what is already sufficiently and comprehensively provided in the laws? That would be meaningless. Courts do not issue meaningless or futile orders or issue orders to deal with hypothetical situations.

The injunctive relief obtained in this case is a preemptive move. But havent they done it many times before without any order of court? If they do so now, can we not expect the police to run to the court before taking similar actions next time? We should hold this as a precedent and say that in future, police actions without court order would be “illegal”?

These roadblocks are totally unwarranted. Not only they prevent people from going to work but give the impression that our country is under civil strife. BN is cooking this up to make the opposition look bad. If the police are operating roadblocks all over the city, who is policing the neighbourhood. Already my area has been deluged with so many breakins since the petrol hike.

They prefer to stand in the middle of traffic junctions blowing away their whistles and waving their stupid hand when the “computerized” traffic lights are working perfectly! If they think they are more “computerized” than the traffic lights, I suggest we do away with all these traffic lights and revert to the “oil drum” system used in the fifties and early sixties.

This kind of artificial jam created by the police/BN will onlu cause massive waste of people’ time, energy, and petrol. The economic losses are enormous, not to mention the mental stress created. Pak Lah simply does not know how people suffer due to this!!!

The UMNO/BN government never really learnt the lesson. This will only cause more people to hate UMNO/BN!! Don’t think that the people are stupid!!! We know what is right and wrong and the true culprit! Really can’t wait to kick UMNO/BN out for good!!!

Road blocks. The purpose is obvious. To create havoc to the majority public. To turn the sentiment of the majority public against any mass public display of dissatisfaction. To use the public against the public. A classic case of hantu vs hantu.

The message is “Look people. The no good fellas are at it again. Yes troubling you.”

Lots of people are inconvenienced by the blocks no doubt. But would they buy UMNO’s argument? Twenty years ago. Yes, definitely. Ten years ago, maybe. Now, I dont know. A similar tactic was employed before the general election to counter Hindraf etc. Were the people annoyed and angered by the inconvenience and trouble to the extent that they decided move away from the opposition? Well I dont think the tactic worked.

Look 4 big guns under investigation at the same time. The AG, the IGP, the DG of Immigration and his deputy. These are the real disgusting issues that matters to the people. Not the road block.

But of course, I dont think they (UMNO) can quite see it.

Massive jams, Syed Hamid says sorry

(The Star) – Police roadblocks leading into the city caused massive jams throughout Monday morning, with Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar issuing an apology to the Malaysian public but reiterating that the police operations were undertaken in the interest of

Most major roads leading to the city have been experiencing traffic congestion since Saturday, when police launched Ops Padam and mounted roadblocks at 12 entry points into the city.

Police said they were staving off an illegal gathering that Pakatan Rakyat was planning at Parliament or its grounds on Monday morning, in anticipation of a motion of no-confidence being filed against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his Cabinet.

The police obtained a court order barring Parti Keadilan Rakyat de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, his supporters and the public from holding any rally or participating in it within a 5km radius of the Parliament building.

Pakatan Rakyat leaders have denied they were planning any such gathering.

The roadblocks are expected to continue until midnight on Monday or until further notice

This roadblock is part of the BN’s grand psy-strategy to hoodwink the rakyat into believing that PR and DSAI is responsible and cause of the massive traffic disorder. Secondly, it is design with the cooperation of the police to bar DSAI from entering Parliament House to try and influence those MPs ( both sides ) from supporting the no confidence motion if it ever allowed.
The former strategy will try to give the perception ( in conjunction with the mass media ) to the rakyat that the opposition are good for nothing. The BN is trying to hang on to their last vestiges of power and if this power is gone there will be mass desertion of component party members.
Surely, the rakyat can see through BN’s motive and will not be deceived.
Well, we can see the ” biasness ” of the law enforcement agencies through and through without an iota of doubt.

The GOONS are so paranoid now. They saw only smoke yet the yell fire!
In the first place, there wasn’t any plan for a demo by PR and the RAKYAT. Then this stupid botak Elba got the IGP to get a court order for the unneccessary road blocks, in the name of public security.
Was there evidence given by botak and IGP. Then who is the clever one they obtained the order from?
Hasnn’t the RAKYAT suffer enough? Who is gonna compensate for the lost of man hours as a result of this jam? Who is gonna compensate for the extra petrol consumption? Imagine the chain cycle of ‘lost’ that is a result of these road blocks.
A two cents worth of idea if these GOONS do it again!
They deliberately put up these blocks at strategic points or bottle neck areas, right?
Action: Once the jam is so massive and we make sure that all lanes are taken up by the traffic, then all drivers just turn off their engine and all occupants just get out from the car. There you have it, a mass gathering that does not need a permit with no fault of ours and at so many strategic points!
(Sorry to those that may be affected by this action but we have to sacrifice a little to teach these GOONS a lesson.)

Question: where is the proof for such a gathering or rally going to take place & what gathering? Or did our Home Minister got the dates wrongly fixed? It is a Monday you moron – it’s a bloody working day. When the rally at Kelana Jaya stadium took place, was there a massive traffic jam? Did the traffic came to a stand still? Maybe Home Minister thought it was the Kelana Jaya stadium gathering last Sunday. A hint to PM that he needs a new hp with a calendar function otherwise he can’t tell whether it was Sunday or Monday. Just another VIP (Very Idiotic Politician).

All these so called necessary road blocks were synthesized to make one party look bad. Before a murder is committed, already accused of murder. Not only that, then expect to prove your innocence. This is Bolehland. It is guilty until proven innocent legal system. Best in the world. Then again, isn’t everything in Bolehland synthesized by BN? KLSE, Subisidy, ECM-Libra, POS Malaysia, TM, TNB, Petronas, Corridor-corridor, Monsoon cup, So-do-me, Parliament, Election, ex Botox MB, MPOB, RRI…etc etc. Even corruption & our durian is synthetic.

Nothing is natural in Bolehland. Only thing natural is the orang asli. They are the only true bumiputera, if it should be defined as such. Even the term bumiputera was synthesized… Accept the fact & move on. We are all from the same planet, the same African DNA. We are Malaysians – period.

    Dear Home Minister,

Are you sleeping well at night? Do you break out in cold sweat after a nightmare? Then serves you right! Curses from 100,000 KL citizens & tourists as well as late CLP exam candidates are the reason for your suffering. It seems you have lost your rational mind & humanity. Well, what can we say? The rakyat have spoken and the more you antagonize us the faster we will kick you out from power. Go ahead, provoke us some more, make us angry and one day you’ll realize your worst nightmares will come true!!!
