Building of Ong MCA political empire at the expense of MCA leaders, Ministers and MPs

(Media Conference Statement (3) at DAP Ipoh Timur Ops Centre on Thursday 29th February 2008 at 1 pm)

I take great offence at the highly defamatory allegation by MCA President, Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting hurled at DAP leaders that they are greedy and selfish in contesting in two seats, parliamentary and state assembly, as wanting to collect two allowances of Member of Parliament and State Assemblyman.

DAP leaders are very different from MCA leaders including Ka Ting. DAP leaders are in politics not for self gain, wealth, position or government position but for our ideals and principles, and love for our country.

DAP MPs and State Assembly members do not get the constituency development allocations which have now mushroomed to RM5 million per parliamentary constituency for Barisan Nasional MPs –the most blatant example of discriminatory and unaccountable disbursement of public funds, money politics and the root cause of the rampant corruption in the country as it is open knowledge that there are BN MPs and State Assembly members who demand a “cut” for themselves before allocations are made to the public from the constituency development funds.

DAP leaders who are fielded in both parliamentary and state assembly constituencies will have to bear a heavy political responsibility – not to get more allowances but to play a greater role in the larger national objective to strive for a more just and democratic Malaysia.

DAP Secretary-General, Lim Guan Eng, for instance, who is contesting both parliamentary and state assembly seats in Penang, is not in these two contests for the allowances or he would not have stood up on his convictions ten years ago to defend the dignity of an under-aged Malay girl resulting in his conviction under unfair and draconian laws of Sedition Act and Printing Presses and Publications Act, leading to his disqualification as elected MP for Kota Melaka, being jailed for 18 months in Kajang Prison, forfeit of his parliamentary pensions and being disqualified from standing for elective office for five years after his release from prison.- missing two general elections.

Guan Eng had also been detained under the Internal Security Act in the 1987 Operation Lalang dragnet – with both of us among the first to be detained but the last two of the Operation Lalang detainees to be released in April 1989.

It is highly presumptuous and intolerable for a politician, who could climb so high up the political ladder as to become a Cabinet Minister without having to make any personal sacrifices whatever in his political life, to cast aspersions against political leaders who have paid a very high price in terms of personal liberty for their political convictions.

DAP Perak Chairman, Ngeh Koo Ham, who is contesting both Bruas parliamentary and Sitiawan state assembly seat, is not in politics for the money!

I can vouch that Ngeh has given to the cause for a Malaysian Malaysia far more than he had received as Perak State Assemblyman for the past four years.

Can Ka Ting say that he had personally given more in terms of money in politics than he had received from his parliamentary and Ministerial allowances as in the case of Ngeh?

I deplore Ka Ting for such mischievous, malicious and irresponsible politicking. He should have the decency and humility to openly apologise for his misconduct.

While making baseless accusations against DAP leaders, Ka Ting should heed the rumble of discontent in MCA at his building up of a Ong Brothers political empire in the MCA over the bodies of MCA leaders, including Ministers and parliamentarians.

Two MCA Ministers had recently fallen by the wayside – Chan Kong Choy and Chua Soi Lek. Who is really responsible for their downfall?

Chan must be held responsible for the RM4.6 billion Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) scandal, the biggest financial scandal in the Abdullah premiership which is even bigger than Mahathir’s first mega financial scandal, the RM2.5 billion Bumiputra Malaysia Finance scandal 25 years ago!

Chan cannot escape accountability for the RM4.6 billion PKFZ scandal, but it is unfair if he is alone left to “eat dead cat” as the entire Cabinet, including Ka Ting, cannot shirk responsibility as well.

Is it true that Ka Ting is the reason why Chan dropped as a MCA candidate in the 2008 general election?

Who was responsible for the political “killing” of MCA National Vice Chairman and Health Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Chua Soi Lek over the sex videotape scandal?

This is not an outside job but a MCA high-level operation. Was Ka Ting responsible for Chua’s removal from the MCA front-line of contenders for the top political post in MCA?

Be that as it may, Ka Ting should not try to distract attention from his MCA troubles by hurling defamatory allegations against DAP leaders.

“I take great offence at the highly defamatory allegation by MCA President, Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting hurled at DAP leaders that they are greedy and selfish in contesting in two seats, parliamentary and state ….” KIT

Isn’t it not the constitutional right of the political party to field candidates for whatever seats it chooses? If that is called being “greedy” and “selfish” then let it be “greedy” and “selfish”. If he is concerned about greed ( i.e. greed for the spoils of political office), then he shoud direct MCA incumbents to step down and give way to contestants from the opposition.

OKT only have the courage to bark at DAP without logic and common sense. Does OKT or MCA dare to make any noise to UMNO regarding the plights of the community?? They will just nod their head and follow what UMNO decides. Believe OKT or MCA say is a vote for UMNO and we poor citizens will suffer more and more.

Look at Gerakan, they have to propose to UMNO to decide who should be the next CM of Penang. They do not have the power to decide on their own. How do we expect them to fight for our rights.
A vote for Gerakan is also a vote to UMNO.

Even MIC…… their own community is going against their leader SV…why? because he cannot do anything for the community but know how to say YES to UMNO only.

Come this March 8th 2008 , think carefully before you cast your vote….VOTE FOR CHANGE for a better tomorrow for all Malaysians.

I am definitely disappointed with a MCA Party Prsident and a Chinese Federal Minister for such nonsensical comments. What has a Chinese got to gain by being a member of an opposition party, dummy? If I want to be rich I’ll join as member of a BN component party, and if I am never a candidate, I would have gained millions from favourable treatment in my business. I have been in business for 19 years and damn it, I know what I have been against within that period.

YB Lim KS, I prefer you don’t answer such degrading accusation but sometimes such comment really made me boil.

Dogs will always remain dogs, toothless ones that is! These UMNO dogs will just wag their tails when their masters throw them a bone! What else can they do for the people, not to mention for the Chinese in Malaysia? They have sucked every drop of blood from the Chinese community and they still want to claim they represent the Chinese in Malaysia. They have thick skin!!!!

And at every election, they bring out the same stories over and over again. Their limits are really limited, only on Chinese education, threaten the Chinese with May 13 and petty issues of no importance. Do they dare tell the Chinese they will stand against UMNO to repeal the NEP? I am waiting for such a day. Dog, good dog!

They just simply create certain new issues to
divert people’s attention from those real facts

Take care of your own house before you come and talk about others! Chan Kong Choy is a disgrace to the Chinese Community.

///the highly defamatory allegation by MCA President, Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting hurled at DAP leaders that they are greedy and selfish in contesting in two seats, parliamentary and state assembly, as wanting to collect two allowances of Member of Parliament and State Assemblyman.///

A person speaks his mind.; and the statement is a result of his thought. Ong ka Ting understands only the value called money, and hence he naturally connects position of MP to allowances. He knows nothing about the purpose of being a representative in a democracy, and to him a position is an employment, and having been in MCA politics, he equates position to making easy money better termed as corruption. It shows that money was the only thought in his mind when he decided to be a member of MCA. To him the reason why he offered himself first as the bag-carrier of Lim Leong Sik was to get to be near the position of power, to collect crumbs falling out of any deals the former MCA chief were engaged in. Since money is his pride, he was willing to be insulted when as a minister, and as President of MCA at that, to withdraw a memorandum which he considered proper to submit to PM AAB. In addition to collecting money, he occasionally took the opportunity to demonstrate that he was aware of the happenings in the country. On the memorandum episode, he thought it proper to submit a memorandum, since as would be expected, he was not articulate in the open meeting. Granted that it was his birth defects not of his choice for being slow in words, he should have bowed out of the position as the president as MCA. But because he is greedy for allowances and salary and other ‘power-sharing ‘ opportunities to make his family rich, he chose to stick to the position which he is ill equipped. Yes, his incapacity is not his choice, but certainly having submitted a memorandum, he have the choice to stick with it. He chose to withdraw the memorandum because he was to prove to PM AAB that he is a lapdog of AAB.

OKT showed AAB that for his greed of money that comes with the position as President of MCA and minister, he has sold the honour of his family, and as president of MCA, he is a disgrace to the Chinese. While OKT himself is greedy, he believed that all persons thought like him. It might be true of people within MCA, but it certainly is not true among members of the opposition parties, except those who refused to turn up at the nomination day.

When money is the only thought in OKT’s mind, he considered a few millions riggit handout to Chinese schools from hundreds of billion in budget are big deal for the Chinese community. He had also been sold by NEP that some corruption money sharing iamong MCA leaders are for the good of Chinese community. It is because of these selfish politicians which chose to remain in collusion with UMNO opportunists that race politics is alive and kicking in the country. How do we curse MCA for not separating from BN, and be a true NGO for self help to the Chinese communities? Because of MCA, the Chinese are said to be happy to be discriminated. Otherwise, why had MCA remained with BN when NEP was not terminated in 1990. Why has MCA not left the government when AAB announce the continuation of NEP till 2020, for the present.

    Shame on you, MCA.

We should all be ashame of ourselves.

MCA people should think twice before point their finger outwards.

How many of ourselves are willing to take the route of Lim Kit Siang, Lim Guan Eng, Dato’ Seri Anwar?

Be jailed, sacrifice the health, family, relationships, income from jobs?

How many of us are willing to do that? Do they earn millions or billions? Even PAS’ spiritual leader leaves in a modest house unlike our Zakaria Istana.

    Very obscene flaunting of wealth.

If the MCA members allows Ka Ting to build his political empire, it is their privilege. I can understand the difficulty that DAP faces to get credible candidates to stand in the elections. Which is why it is very important the opposition constituencies are serviced properly. No doubt parlimentary sittings are important but the constituents must not be neglected. So if any candidate is to win both state and parliment contests, effort must be undertaken to have the constituencies properly serviced.

I agree totally with Kit Siang. I truely honour & have great respect for you fighting for the Chinese community against the MCA. I pass by the MCA building today in Jalan Ampang, all I see was luxury cars i.e X5, XC90 Estima used for campaigning in the coming elections. What does this proofs ? Either theseMCA candidates are highly paid (which I doubt) or of course “makan” so much from the taxpayers money until they do not have a chance to be poor ever.

It’s a tight race, and they’re trying their darndest to make it hard for us.

All our campaign work goes to naught if on polling day there isn’t anything to stop the counter from declaring every opposition vote a ‘barisan’ vote and putting it into the wrong pile.

That’s where YOU come in :)

We’re working on ways to funnel PACA’s to candidates who need them. Just leave a comment with your e-mail and phone number here for starters!

Majlis Perbandaran (under his care) everywhere always look for busy business area in major towns, which is always non-Malay area, identified a place, built retail shop lots for ‘crony’ Bumiputra businessmen, upset the traffic in that area, making things difficult for those existing non-Malay businesses. And there is no where these people can turn to because the officers don’t give a damn to non-Malays complaint.

    Greedy?

    Really who is greedy?

Ong Kah Ting was reported to have come from a poor family if I am not mistaken.

Ask him to derclare his assets and income when he first joined politics (A) and also to declare his assets and income now (B).

    A – B =$$$$$$$

    So who is greedy?

The RAKYAT do not feel that the DAP candidates who stand in both state and parliamentary seats are greedy.

    Let the RAKYAT decide.

I believe that this election will show again that the MCA and Gerakan have lost their mandate and moral right to claim themselves as the party to represent the non-malays especially the Chinese.

But, they will be kept in the cabinet by their UMNO taiko to be their running dogs and show how fair UMNO is.However, to keep their positions ,they will have to be the obedient running dogs.

So how can they voice out the concerns of the RAKYAT?

Here is my voice out, there is a 8 addresses issue by DAP but I just again the option No 2, which stimulus plan for RM 40 billion to distribute.
What I say by short term, yes we all Chinese will have some gain but when you touch to long run there is not. Please use your mind to think if you are the fund manager or invester what would you do if you have RM 40 billion in hand.
If you use that money for investment I believe it can help generate more then you expected and it help for the country also.
Just my 2cents, actually I really not like LKS leadership, as I don’t even see he have the capable to bring DAP into higher ground.
No doubt there is so many negative influence I will still vote for the DAP.

How dare you Ka Ting for accusing DAP contestants for being greedy. The raison d’etre of MCA is greed. So, for goodness sake please don’t insult the Chinese of this country. You and your party are despicable. What has MCA contributed the last fifty years other than our continued erosion as equal citizens of this country? What has MCA leadership done other than colluding at the expense of Chinese dignity and equal representation in the Government? What has the MCA leadership concerned with other than longing for some scum to be thrown at them?
This nation should have been a nation based on equal citizenship if not for your party’s betrayal and collusion with UMNO to exclude the progressive ideals and intent of PAP when Singapore was part of Malaysia. Please don’t forget, some of us can still remember what MCA leadership said about PAP when PAP was fighting for its life during the last hours in Malaysia. This nation would have been a nation where every community, including the Malays, was able to feel proud and self assured of its future if not for the third world tribal leadership like MCA and those in UMNO.
Look, Ka Ting, you have no moral decency to lecture on greed. MCA and other BN parties are the epitome of that. If you can’t fight for our rights, let others who are willing (including those sacrificing their personal liberty) to do so. Time is running out. So just SHUT THAT STUPID MOUTH OF YOURS, KA TING.

    Mr. Ong,

I for one would like to know why were you and the whole of the MCA was quiet when the MP of Jerai Hj Badriddin said in Parliament “ Malaysia ini negara Islam. You tak suka, you keluar dari Malaysia”. Is not the priority of an MP to serve, protect the rights of those he/she represents? If your answer is no, then what is your duty? If your answer is yes, then why not one of the MCA MPs voiced their discontent. (That is presuming that they were discontent.) YOUR SILENCE WAS DEAFENING.

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the dirtiest of them all?

Would Ka Ting ever have become a millionaire if he had remained as a schoolteacher scuttering around the basketball court in his shorts? OK, perhaps I am presumptuous. I am judging OKT is a millionaire just by observving his lifestyle. Perhaps, the slam-dunk reality is, many times over if we have access to his income tax records. So, OKT, let’s start at the beginning and with the first basic: do you deny that you became a millionaire because you were furstly a poilitician from MCA?

Secondly, can you cite just one MCA poltician who has gone to jail because he fought for the rights of the peoplle? I can think of a few who have been charged with cheating the people and many more who stole from the people and let off the hook!

Come, come, Ka Ting my boy, talk some sense as teachers often say, don’t talkkok.

Majority of non Malays does not rely on government assistance, handouts and welfare to make a living and raise a responsible family under a difficult and discriminative environment and worked very hard as INDIVIDUALS to contribute significantly to the economy and country.

Their basic rights as hard working, responsible and resourceful citizens are neglected.

No leader/s expressed their outrage at this gross discrimination destroying innocent lives and the totally unacceptable and dangerous behaviors of some politicians doing enormous permanent and long term damage to a multi racial and religious country.

Why is financial assistance given only right before elections for all the Chinese organizations and Chinese schools ? Why does Radio Television Malaysia give more priority to Indian related programmes after the Hindraf rally ? This shows that without people’s power, Chineses, Indians and all non Malays would not be cared for. When the MCA fights for the Chinese, it is with the blessing of UMNO. When the MIC fights for the Indians, it is with the blessing of UMNO. If UMNO does not bless, both MCA and MIC will be just white elephants. If UMNO declares Malaysia to be fully Islamised and Malayised, you can bet there will be MCA and MIC members fleeing Malaysia. At this rate Malaysians are going, we are all heading towards a kind of Malaysia that is something like Kelantan now, the Chinese Muslims in Northern China and Indian Muslims in India. Both MCA and MIC are giving way to UMNO without them recognizing it.

Use the internet and emails to also reach out to many people as possible, other than the current ceramahs.

The media, be it TV, radio or local papers seems to be fully supporting BN and suddenly those news papers that were critisising certain BN leaders previously are now critising the opposition to the maximum without mercy… and at the same time uplifting sky-high those dumb BN leaders whom they were critisizing before.

So BN has 100% advantage from the mainstream media as compared to the opposition and the other effective way for the opposition to reach out to voters, other than the ceramah campaigns, is via internet / emails.

  100. #100 by Menang atau mati on Friday, 29 February 2008 - 11:19 am

Boycott the TV3 news and don’t go for any goverment owned media.
Most of the time they’re trying the brainwashing tactics.
Keep on thinking about the rising crime rate, the lies from the PM mouth, the money that is being wasted, the rising of goods and petrol, and other kind of stuff that have happened during these four years period.

Ask the MCA, Gerakan,PPP or the MIC to speak out thru their own self consience.
On what sort of aspect do they represent the Chinese or the Indian community. When the Umno Youth hurt our feelings and never even apologise, what did they do. They keep mum!
When we say something wrong to them, we are threatened with sorts of action and what did they do? All of our pride have been washed out into the drain and still they’re many so called members of those parties running around proudly. Even in the parliament, the opposition is not spared. We’re even told to get out of malaysia when we oppose of certain things. The Barisan component parties are not representing either one of us.
They’re just representing themselves and their famillies.
    Put it right, please!

MCA works for the people? For every tax payer’s money that flows back to the rakyat via these political parties, how much have it been siphoned off? Is it not a MCA MInister that approved the PKFA scandal which cost the taxpater RM4.7 billion, Mr ONg.

And you MCA corrupts glorified a paltry total sum of RM2.5 million for Chinese schools as goodies for this election and that is only RM100,000 per school over 4 years or equivalent to RM25,000 per year. Compared to the huge RM4.7 billion milked from us, you called that working for malaysians.

OKT, cukup lah….sudah jiak so much, else get choked and may have to vomit out later….OKT, you did that to CKC and CSL, one day, you will have to pay for it when your machai do it to you.

MCA claimed achievement in setting up UTAR and TAR College. If the BN practice true meritocracy in the last 50 years do we need these two institutions?

Former primier Dr. M had mentioned that the chinese communitiy paid the most income tax. It is the duty of the elected government to provide education, healthcare and development to the tax payers. Tell me ONG KA TING, MR. MINISTER SIR, what have you done towards stopping the continual institutionalisation of discrimination being carried out in this country, discrimination such as:-

    (1) Racial discrimination in the appointment and promotion of employees in public funded bodies (means funded by taxea of which a large part comes from non MALAY contribution), resulting in these becoming almost mono-raced bodies (particulrly so in their top strata). These bodies include the civil service, police, army and various semi and quasi government bodies like the 10 public universities whereby all vice-chancellors are Malays!

    (2) Barring of non Malays from tenders and contracts controlled directly or indirectly by the government.

    (3) Imposition of compulsory price discounts and quotas in favour of Malays in housing projects.

    (4) Imposition of compulsory share quotas for Malays in non-Malay companies.

    (5) Blanketbarring of non-Malay to publicly funded academic institutions.

    (6) Completely lop-sided allocation of scholarships and seats of learning in clearlyunreasonable proportions that reflect racial discriminations.

    (7) Almost zero participation in the oil industry (in Petronas).

    (8) The Judiciary an important keeper of fair play and justice, I am not sure whether there are any non-Malay judges any more in the Supreme Court.
Our Constitution provides only one class of citizenship and all citizens are equal before the law. The presence of Article 153 does not alter the fact as it is meant only to protect the Malays from being ‘squeezed’ by other races at the time of independence by allowing the reservation of reasonable quotas on certain sections of national life. This special position and not special privileges or special rights of the Malays was put in precisely because of the backward educational and financial positions of Malays at the time of Independence and this position was also to be reviewed in 15 years time (1972) as a gentlemens’ agreement amongst our founding fathers. However , this Constitution has now been hijacked thro decades of hegemony of political power by UMNO of which you, your MCA,MIC,Gerakan,SUPP condone in and may even have contributed to it, resulting in the virtual monopoly of the public sector by a single race. the ensuing racism, corruption and corrosion of our democratic institutions have brought serious retrogression to our nation building process in terms of national unity, discipline, morality and competiveness of our people.
At this critical juncture where nations in this region and around the world are urgently restructuringand shaping up to cope with globilizationour nation stagnatesin a cesspool that has created thro decades of misrule of which you and your MCA has played a part in it of no small measure.
Unless urgent reforms are carried out,Malaysia is in for serious troubles in the days ahead

In all ceramah, DAP and opposition speakers must announce to all Malaysians that AAB is a LIAR!

Fact #1: AAB lied about the date when parliament is to be dissolved. On 12.2.08, AAB said “parliament will not be dissolved tomorrow”. On 13.2.08, the Star (a BN controlled newspaper) screamed: “Parliament will not be dissolved today”. Then on 13.2.08 after 12 noon, Badawi, without any embarrassment, declared to the world the dissolution of parliament.
What the F, ini pun nak tipu!

Of course, there are many more lies.

A country is judged by its leaders. Malaysia was led by a big liar. Are we proud of this? Do we still want a pathological liar, in the Emperor’s New Clothes, to lead the nation?

Malaysian Politics 101: What to do when encountering a BN candidate

    1. When a BN candidate meets you, say in a kopitiam or market, don’t avoid him.

    2. It’s OK to shake his hand.

    3. Just say you will vote for BN and demand from him an ‘ang pow’ or sewing machine, if you like.

    4. If he gives you the ‘ang pow’, open it and check how much. (If possible, record it: photograph or video.) Then you say loudly so that all around you can hear: “Aiyah, so little money one! Need more money lah.”
Keep the money so that you can donate it to DAP/PKR/PAS later.

    5. Then ask the BN candidate: What do you think, can we trust AAB as our PM? Is AAB a liar? Why did AAB lie to the world about the dissolution of the last parliament? Do you agree with the decision for police to use water cannon and tear gas against unarmed citizens who wish to have a peaceful public rally? etc. etc.

    6. Finally, say goodbye to the BN candidate and tell him that after talking with him, you prefer to vote for CHANGE and will be voting for DAP/PKR/PAS.

Tun Tan Cheng Lock (27 February 1949 to March 1958)
Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu (March 1958 to July 1959)
Dr. Cheah Toon Lok (acting) (July 1959 to November 1961)

Tun Dr. Ling Liong Sik (September 1986 to May 2003)
Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting (May 2003 to Present)”

I think the above statement is highly uncalled for. To call someone like Tun Tan Cheng Lok, a crook, is to show great disrespect to a man who tried to bring acceptance of Malayan Chinese into the mainstream of society. We must remember that during those days, many of the Chinese in the country did not have Malayan citizenship. The efforts of Tun Tan were instrumental in ensuring that the Constitution recognised the rights of many Malayan-born Chinese people such as mother tongue education and citizenship. He was not perfect of course, but if we were to just call him a crook because we do not agree with his political philosophies is the first step of a dishonest society.

Lim Chong Eu also should not be deemed as a crook, although his bringing Gerakan into the BN was a disgrace. He lost power in MCA after he fought with UMNO over the number of MCA (Chinese) candidates in the 1959 elections. Under his stewardship as Chief Minister, Penang was the jewel in the crown of Malaysia and he pioneered the concept of attracting foreign investors into the State to set up operations. A concept that was later taken by Mahathir on a Federal level… without acknowledgement to Dr. Lim of course. Was bringing Gerakan into the BN a terrible mistake? Yes, as we can see now Gerakan has lost all revelance and without someone like Chong Eu is all but a punching bag for UMNO. Was he flawed? Definitely. Was he a crook? No.

Tan Koon Swan – Well, this one was definitely a crook. Just ask the courts in Singapore. Does Pan El ring any bells?

  142. #142 by Menang atau mati on Friday, 29 February 2008 - 4:10 pm

Tun Lim Chong Eu – I do have some respect for him. However, bringing Gerakan to BN, I think, was a mistake.

Instead of being developed into a truly national multi-race party, its has become restricted to Penang because it went under the umbrella of BN.

Its growth was curtailed and has generally degenerated into a mainly one race party with its strength only in Penang.

    It can only degenerate further.

As for Tun Tan Cheng Lock, I am too young to know what really happened. But I do understand that many Chinese were dissappointed with him.

  143. #143 by ycchai62 on Friday, 29 February 2008 - 4:59 pm

    OKT,

I have few question for u to answer :

    1. As tax payers, why the Chinese being denied their right for Chinese school development fund from the government. Instead we have to dig our own pocket. why?
    2. Why are MCA has such low self esteem that u are damn satisfied with allocation of only 4 minister posts. If MCA is ranked at par with UMNO, u should aspire to become even a PM. After all, u are also a rakyat of Malaysia.
    3. Why there are not even a single non-malay CEO in GLCs, public Uuniversity, Bank Negara. Are we not qualified or just not being treated as a rakyat.
    4. Ling Liong Sik asked the Chinese to behave like a minority few years back and face the reality. What is u understanding of this statement. Are we Chinese all idiots.
    5. Tan Koon Swan set up Koperasi Mulpha and resulted millions ringgit of hard earned money of the Chinese community washed down to the drain and someone’s pocket. Isn’t it greed.
    6. Your brother, OKC said he failed to bring development to Kinta Valley as he was not elected in 2004 GE. What does it imply? A rakyat will not entitle to any development if he don’t vote for the ruling party, what kind of healthy politics MCA or BN is preaching? Inciting fear, devide and rule or u treat the rakyat as dog? (u get bone only if u bark)
    7. MCA maintain their influence or power in all rural village by handing out goodies to a bunch greedy chaps and make them village head and councilors. And they control the approvals of a various matter such as land, housing , licence etc together with other BN chaps. Now, what u call this if not corruption.
    8. Did the government made any BN’s MP to submit their account on the RM5 million constituency development fund for audit? What kind of transparency is this?
    9. Why do we Chinese have to bend to such a low esteem that we need to kow tow to UMNO if we are EQUAL ? Why? Why?

Don’t ask me but answer your ancestor instead if u are honourable and sincere. Remember , remember the 4th precept since u claim to be a Buddhist.

  144. #144 by mycroft on Friday, 29 February 2008 - 5:03 pm

Many people were disappointed in Tan Cheng Lok because they felt he did not fight hard enough for the Chinese. But we have to understand that the situation at the time called for a give and take approach. The Chinese accepted issues such as the National Language and the Rulers, while the Malays accepted the granting of citizenship to the Chinese.

Of course these days it is UMNO takes takes takes, and everyone else gives.

Tun Ling LS, he never show any regret. He intensifies it with his son’s name.
The present OKT – his crying face tells all.
Tan Siew Sin, Lee San Choon – I think they did their best. (Just opinion). Neo YP, well he didn’t start any dynasty. Hs brother is my close friend – poor like me.

Max2811 – Omega Holdings – are you sure Ling & Sons the schemer behind this? They are related to someone behind the scheme but I don’t think they are the the main players. However I agree that your vote should go to DAP or PKR!

    Saudara kit,

Forget about MCA or Gerakan or BN for that matter.
Just concentrate on winning as many Parliament seats possible.
Those in this blog know of your sacrifice to this nation.

Tan Siew Sin – The man who did the most to break up Malaysia.

Lee San Choon – Mr. Piggy. Between him, Neo Yee Pan and Ling Liong Sik – they form a frightfully ugly bunch. But well, credit to him, he was the only MCA leader with the guts to fight in a DAP stronghold – Seremban vs Dr. Chen Man Hin.

“Many people were disappointed in Tan Cheng Lok because they felt he did not fight hard enough for the Chinese.” – mycroft

Nobody has ever fought hard for the Chinese in Malaysia as they were never once united under any circumstances or any other struggles. No Chinese has ever suggest or say, let’s fight for a separate homeland in this Malay penisular, and from the Malacca days we know that the Chinese are all for racial integration as it was a proven fact with the existense of Baba.

The Chinese know the only way to go foward is total integration with other races but what they didn’t know at that time is not all people want integration, some people wants to be special. At that time who would have thought we have to fight so hard to be call Malaysians? Then it was also totally unthinkable that living together would be so hard.

It was always the question of interest. Self interest vs. group interest and all that. But ever since the day of Yap Ah Loy, Ghee Hin and Hai San, the MPAJA and communist party up till now we still have many factions with different ideologies, but never once one of these claimed to represent the Chinese except MCA.

As far as I concern there is no culprit, if there to be one then it must be everyone.

Chan Kong Choy must have been very tired of political dreams, and resorted to go back to his ??? (for those who can read Mandarin), because at least the world out there is not as cruel as in real life. But what about those problems left behind the Department?
Economic growth of 7 over percent may also be misleading, because deducting from a high percentage of inflation, it amounts to nothing at all! When we talk about less than 3 percent growth in the western countries, we should not forget that they keep the inflation very low indeed!
Hope that DAP will perform well in this coming Election, and don’t forget that it is the people who is the most important in the eyes of a good politician. Abraham Lincoln is one of them. Hope that more will be out from DAP!

The anger and the discontentment expressed here is galringly loud. Unless the Malaysin Chinese have the willingness and capabilty to do what the Hindraff Indians did, and unite with them the we cannot expect our constitutional rights be given in a silver plate.

Winning a handful of seats alone will not allow the racial minorities to be given their rights. In the minds of UMNO elitists MCA equates to access to money and bussiness opportunities for some of the Malays politicians and the MCAChinese have perfected the art of ALI BABA system. The Chinese are satisfied with economic opportunities. They are not interested in the human rights or birth rights. The mind set of the Chinese has to change.

  153. #153 by Loh on Friday, 29 February 2008 - 6:02 pm

“MCA and Umno are political parties of the same standing and seniority. The only people we play bodyguard to are the Malaysian Chinese.” Ong Ka Ting

So, Ong ka Ting knows very well that the position of Chinese in the country is weak and vulnerable. But MCA plays ‘bodyguard’ in the form of blinkers so that Chinese do not see the truth, and MCA can lead them to obey submissively to UMNO. When the group suffer together, they have company.

Ong Ka Ting does not realise that Chinese want to be equal citizens and do not want to depend on bodyguard, like Malays depend on crutches. It is because MCA could not stand up as a political party to reason with UMNO on justice and civility, and submit to UMNO that the right of the Chinese community is a reflection of the ratio of Chinese in the population. Chinese ended up with partial rights as Malaysians. It is because MCA could not fight for what had been agreed to by the founders of the Alliance members that the rights of Chinese as citizens are slowly being deprived.

We are realistic that UMNO might not agree to MCA demand. But MCA has the right to leave BN when UMNO did not honour the agreement. NEP was forced down the throats of the BN component parties because Tun Razak blackmailed them with the threat of not reconvening the parliament after the state of emergency had been declared. But MCA should have demanded that NEP be terminated in 1990; a review be made to evaluate the infamous 30% target with proper statistical methodology. The 30% target had already been reached in 1990 if the government did not lie with statistics. Had there been any gap from the target, Petronas funds could have been used to purchase equity capital in limited companies, and be held in trust for Malays. Other NEP programme should cease from 1990.

MCA obviously did not demand a thorough review because the ministers were greedy for allowances, and salaries and perks as Ministers. It allowed UMNO to continue with NEP. That was Ling Liong Sik’s days as President of MCA. If MCA could not demand , then it is no bodyguard.

PM AAB declared the extension of NEP into 2020 without a review when Ong Ka Ting has become President. We expect MCA to demand a review, and to do what was suggest above. Failing that MCA should have left BN. By remaining in BN when AAB declared the extension of NEP in 2006, 35 years after its inception, and 15 years after NEP should have ended, it shows that MCA needed BN and not the other way around. Chinese do not need MCA if they have to suffer NEP. So MCA did not serve as a bodyguard for Chinese community in the conventional sense. MCA guarded Chinese community to the gallows. MCA leaders needed BN to satisfy their greed.

Yet Ong Ka Ting accused DAP leaders for being greedy in serving both in state and parliament. They do their job well, and should be accordingly compensated. It is MCA leaders that sell the Chinese community for their personal gain. They are not only greedy, they sin.

Allow me to share a Personal Experience….

As part of the management team of Malaysian Chinese Manufacturing Company, we recently experienced the true “MCA for its people” policy.

In June 2007, Ministry of Finance release a circular to all government department and agencies that they should purchase the products we manufacture from the only Bumiputra manufacturer of this product by way of direct negotiation. (Reasoning state in the letter in actual words… dasar kerajaan menyokong pengilang bumiputra berdaya maju – don’t ask me the logic behind this! I’m clueless as to how non competition can make people competitive, not to mention the waste of tax payers money government buying at higher price without tendering)

We, together with a handful of manufacturers, wrote of this injustice against Non Bumiputra company to MCA,the Star, the NST and DAP. MCA, verbally insisted that that was the government policy and can do nothing about it. The Star and NST never published our letters. Only DAP lead by Lim Guan Eng took initiative of our call, calling a press conference with the Chinese dailies (published the next day). After alot of complaints and noise made, a letter of retraction of the circular was made again by the Ministry of Finance. Thanks to DAP and LGE and the Chinese press, such injustice did not prevailed long.

This goes to show how much the MCA are really looking after the Chinese rights. When I read recently on how OKT speaks on MCA being the true voice of the Chinese, I laugh my head off, followed by a shrug of worry how many Malaysian Chinese buys his crap.

MCA and MIC is a cameo of the BN. At least UMNO really take care of the Malays….

While Malay voters have been split between UMNO against PAS and PKR, it has always been the conservative Chinese and Indian that voted BN to achieve the 2/3 majority, especially the older generations – (Scared got roits and disharmony).

    Let this not happen again….

If you observe the quality of MCA leaders down the years, they are getting more and more BALL-LESS, eunuch-like, no substance to contribute to any one. All they care is their pockets. In the days of Lee San Chun, at least he dared to threaten to resign when the party was cornered. Now, both the MCA and Gerakan would cry for forgiveness even before AAB say any thing! Worse than this his SIL would decide on his behalf. Who is this guy? Not even in the Gomen. Since they are a butch of ENUNCHs, what difference would it make, whether they are in the GOMEN or not? It wouldn’t affect anyone who had been affected or not affected after all these years!

They will never say something on ‘national policy or system’ as it may offend their bosses in the UMNO. Do they dare to propose the Royal Commission Inquiry into the ‘correct, correct, correct’ case? If DAP, PKR and Pas won the election, how are they going to share power???? this is how they should share :-

    Malay – 55% (Pas & PKR)

    Chinese – 30% (DAP & PKR)

    Indian – 15% (DAP & PKR)

This share percentage inclusive of everything from MNC shares Ownership, Civil Servants ratio, Projects allocation, wealth sharing,
Petrol Station Ownership, Petronas staff and management staff ratio, Land ownership, Quota for University entrant, Ministers Ratio and Doctors in Govt Hospital ratios and etc.

Thats what we called SHARING POWER and LIVING IN HARMONY among different races.

IF Pas wants to set up Islamic State, they can do it if the residents in the state wants it, so that Majority Malay State can choose whether they want to live in a islamic state or not. And we chinese
will respect it as like wise we would liked the malays to respect our religion too.

With this type of sharing power arrangement, we all can live in harmony !!!! and Prosperous Together !!!.

I put more percentage to Indian as they suffer the most for the past 50 year and as a chinese myself, I believed that with the 30% Ownership, we will be able to support ourself.

  161. #161 by TrueMalaysian8888 on Friday, 29 February 2008 - 8:36 pm

    Continue…

And to the Majority Malays, the 55% will be benefiting most of them instead of present situation where Ministers and their cronies take up the 99% and enriching themselves while the ordinary Malays did not get their share!!..

I am fighting a losing battle. Many Chinese voters are just complacent. “Sama saja, undi DAP or BN, sama saja. You have to undi the person, not the party.”

The businessman are worse: Undi BN for business.

I really don’t know how to present it anymore. If we continue to have corruption, dead-body snatching, crimes increasing, don’t blame BN. Blame ourselves for being so complacent.

///They (MCA), too, have to kowtow and plead for some bread crumbs just like MIC. They are equally powerless.///–Samy Vellu

Samy Vellu shows by making that statement that he is in fact better than MCA leaders, who pretend that they were serving the Chinese community. Having 28 years in the government, and he must have been convinced that the situation would only get worse when MIC and MCA served as wall flower to UMNO for them to do what they please, Samy Vellu should now be brave to leave MIC, and contest his seat in Sungai Siput as Independent. He will at least save his name, even at this late hour.

There is no way UMNO would be willing to share the country equally with all Malaysians. 50 years have seen two and a half generations getting ready to compete with any imaginary adversaries, when there were none. When 20 years, a generation was ample to change the capacity of any family, the other thirty years offer them opportunity to exist as parasites, and worse, the time to produce more parasites to burden the society, if being parasites was the sole objective in taking advantage of the special position. After all, competition has to be carried out in the real environment. If it was the intention to live up to real competition, then, the actual competition should have started in 1972, 15 years after Article 153 and Independence.

Of course the ordinary UMNO members would like to take the route of no work more pay if they can. The UMNO leaders have found that in making their members dependent on the organization, they would be there forever, and positions in party can be handed down from father to son, like royal household with connection to government tills. Yes, the honour of the Malays general public is utilised to keep them in power; when they say Malays still require help, it is clear to all that UMNO leaders are smart, and in addition to taking care of themselves, they have to be responsible to the weak, and the Malays public are always weak, as far as they are concerned. To the UMNO leaders , those Malays with PhDs are also weak, and that is why you find over 90% university lecturers are Malays when the ratio should have been 60 per cent, following the racial proportion in the country when it is believed that all races are equally intelligent. The high percentage of Malays university lecturers says only that Malays are preferred over non-Malays, and that is needed because they are weak, and require special assistance. Obviously when a larger proportion of the lecturers are from a single race, it can be concluded that the weakest among the PhD are accepted into the teaching staff. Should we wonder why the Universities in Malaysia are losing out to others in the world, by the year. Yes, we can pretend we are the best, and carry on dreaming.

MCA is powerless to make the country attain its potential. MCA officials have not the intention to do so. The people in power in MCA are only interested to make use of their position in the party or government to enrich their family. Just count the number of the new candidates who are the children of the past MCA politicians. The fathers could not serve the community, and they have trained their children to continue with exploiting the political rights of the Chinese in the country. Why can’t the Chinese vote to see what can happen if MCA is wiped out rather than waiting for the rights to be taken away, bit by bit, in keeping MCA in play.

The Chinese know full well that UMNO has been tightening the rope around Chinese necks, year after year. Over time, we would face the situation worse than the slaves in America. The American slaves were getting a change of live for the better while we attained independence in 1957, and we had racial equality save for the few provisions under Article 153. We are now slowly forced into slavery status, travelling in reverse direction to the blacks in USA.

There is still so-called parliamentary democracy when we can still vote, though the weights are unequal. We know UMNO to be the devil, and yet we fear the unknown by voting the devil we know. We are brainwashed to believe that PAS is a bigger devil. Let us set the bigger devil to fight off the known devil, and if we have to experience the worst, let it come down early. PAS are manned by god-fearing religious people. Let PAS teach UMNO what true Islam means. It cannot be dead body snatching to gain religious merit!

To continue voting for BN is to vote for fatality, dying slowly. So when we face PAS against BN, it is PAS that we vote, never mind if MCA, or Gerakan is standing on UMNO behalf.

    Hey guys,

I came across this very inspriring story in chinese.cari.com

    http://chinese3.cari.com.my/myforum/viewthread.php?tid=1126537&extra=page%3D1

Here’s the english version. good food for thought. Please pass on to all your friends…..

    ———————————————————————

Long time ago, God put two flocks of sheep on grassland: one group at north and one group at south. God also gave them two types of native predator: Lion and wolf.

God told the sheep: “If you choose wolf, I shall give you one, and it’s allowed to bite you at its will. If you choose lion, I shall give you two, and you are allowed to choose anyone from the two of them to stay on the grassland, and you can replace it at any time.”

So, the question is: If you are one of the sheep, what will you choose? A wolf or two lions?

It’s easy to make your choice, right? Remember your choice, and continue with our story.

The sheep at the south thought that lions are more fiercely than wolf, so they picked a wolf.

The sheep at the north thought that although lions are more fiercely than wolf, but they have the option to choose, so they took two lions.

The wolf started eating the sheep once it entered the herd at the south. The wolf was smaller and it had smaller appetite. One sheep is enough to appease its hunger for days. So the sheep only were hunted once a few days.

The sheep at the north chose a lion and leave another one with God. The lion started eating sheep once it entered the herd at the north. The lion was more fiercely than the wolf and it had much larger appetite. It needed to eat a sheep each day to keep its stomach full. So the sheep is hunted everyday, and they were very afraid.

They asked God to replace the lion. But the lion that stayed with the God has not been eaten anything and it was very hungry. It pounced on the sheep and bite like crazy. The sheep had to run for their life everyday until they didn’t have time to eat.

The sheep at the south were grateful that they made the right choice, and they laughed at the sheep at the north for being stupid and chose the wrong predator.

The sheep at the north repented for their choice. They complained to God, and asked God to change their native predator to a wolf. But God said: “No. Once the native predator was chosen, it cannot be changed anymore. You must live with it forever. Your only option is to choose between the two lions.” The sheep at the north have to keep rotating the two lions.

But both lions were the same. Both of them showed no mercy. No matter how they rotate the lions, their situation was always much more miserable than the sheep at the south. At last, they stop rotating. They kept a lion full all the time while letting another one suffered in hunger. They only replaced the lions when the suffering lion was dying.

After a long time of hunger, the suffering lion realized that: Even they are much stronger than the sheep, but its fate is controlled by the sheep. The sheep can send him back to
God anytime, and let him suffer and die in hunger.

So it treated the sheep very nice, it only ate the dead and the old sheep and it wouldn’t eat the healthy sheep. The sheep felt very surprise and happy. Some of the younger sheep even suggested letting the suffering lion to stay forever. But one of the elder reminded them: “The lion treats us good because it is afraid that we’ll send it back to the God. If we let another lion die, we’ll left with no choice and the suffering lion will return to its nature and starts hunting us again.” The sheep agreed with the elder. To prevent another lion starve to death, they replaced it after a few weeks.

And the lion also realized that its fate is controlled by the sheep. In order to stay longer on the grassland, the lion tried its best to please the sheep. Another lion felt so sad that it had to suffer hunger again.

After experiencing such a hard time, the sheep at the north finally can enjoy themselves.

At the mean time, the situation of the sheep at the south became worse and worse because the wolf had no competitor and the sheep couldn’t replace it. It started to act wildly. It had to kill ten sheep everyday. It didn’t eat sheep anymore. It only drank their blood. The sheep were not allowed to make a sound because they would be killed by the wolf if they do so.

In the end, the sheep at the south could only bemoan: “We should choose the lions in the first place……”

    End of story.

So, what do you get from this story?

We can only surrender if we don’t have the right to choose and decide (like the sheep at the south). But the democracy system gives us an opportunity to exercise our power to choose and decide our destiny (like the sheep at the north).

But in our country, many people don’t realize that they have the power to do so. They keep feeding the same lion with their flesh and blood while letting another one starve to death. As a result, the lion grows stronger and its appetite becomes larger. It starts to think itself as King doesn’t care for the sheep as long as it’s happy. And it hopes that this situation will last forever.

So, I hope that after reading this story, you’ll realize that you have the power to choose. You have to show the lions who’s the boss!! And the best time to do it is in the coming General Election!! Replace the fat and greedy lion!!!

Our Constitution provides only one class of citizenship and all citizens are equal before the law. The presence of Article 153 does not alter the fact as it is meant only to protect the Malays from being ’squeezed’ by other races at the time of independence by allowing the reservation of reasonable quotas on certain sections of national life. This is a special position and “NOT” special privileges or any “SPECIAL RIGHTS” of the Malays as claimed. This special clause was put in precisely because of the backward educational and financial positions of Malays at the time of Independence and this position was also to be reviewed in 15 years time (1972) as a gentlemen’s agreement amongst our founding fathers. However , this Constitution was hijacked and decorated through decades of hegemony by UMNO political power for decades of misrule of which you, your MCA,MIC,Gerakan,SUPP has played a part in it of no small measure. Are this not enough to brand you OKT and your cahoots in MCA as a traitor to the chinese race for collaborating with UMNO to hoodwinks and lie the mother of all lies to all chinese? Yet, you turn around to say the oppositions are liars! OKT you are a disgrace to the chinese community but a good turn around for the Barisan Rakyat. We won’t thank you but [deleted]!

I think history has given the non Malays enough opportunities to walk tall in this country, but the MCA and subsequently the Gerakan, the so-called leaders of the Chinese community has continued to squander them one after another, from the Malay Union, Merdeka, Singapore in Malaysia to 1969 election and its aftermath. Now it is 2008, what else are we still waiting for; for the whole cycle to repeat all over again? It is time for us to realise that the present political, constitutional and power arrangements in the country can no longer work. We must change everything, no matter how painful it takes. It is enough; there is no need to hear the baloney from the spineless souls of MCA and Gerakan again and again. It is beyond any doubt their preoccupation in Government is to collect perks for themselves.

Who gave OKT ( or MCA ) the dog license ( to bodek UMNO ) to represent the Chinese?

Why didn’t the Chinese give MCA the Chinese Lion fangs instead? At the very least, OKT can ‘bite’ when it is warranted of him to do so ( remember the Krismuddin issue? ) unless he has no balls.

We Chinese are partly to blame for the 50 years of our misery. We have our rights, our Constitutions, but our MCA representatives didn’t make full use of them (fangs).

If you can read between the line and read his mind, he made this comment out of fear and nothing else. DAP had definitely given them a double blow for putting some credible candidates to stand in both parliament and state seats. I think Terasa Kok is one. Out of agony and fear to ridicule DAP. Why didn’t he ridicule somebody from UMNO who is seen always sleeping and yet holding on to three posts.

I heard from some people, the opposition dont bring development and prosperity, security and whatever in your area. and your area has been in opposition hands for umpteen years.

I say my friend, you must have been listening or reading the nation’s media for too long, 50 years across.
Overtime lies can be made to become truth and worst no contest is allowed nor criticism.

REad robinsoe island story in your primary skool rationalise if left alone with nobody to speak to, you will soon lose your mother tongue and also become mentally sick
With nobody to celebrate the traditions and customs you had before then you begin to improvise and create your own version of those traditions and customs.
Also ask the babas, a real life descendants of the Great Ming era outside of China.
Also the indo servant can communicate better to your child than the parents? alienation from young is sorry case.

Umpteen years, the people complained about unfairness and disrespect from the ruling gomen, but on deaf years or prevented from doing so either directly or indirectly.
So how to do get the message across, you dont you can never because your development plans and opinions will be eliminated by takut kalah and green eye people at the first round.
If suceessfool , the book will be thrown at you, every word and statement in the byelaws must be complied and suddenly you find how come they are so eager to do so, where is the motivation?

So What do you have to say about what opposition has done for you and your area for umpteen years.
For umpteen years you have become patient, matured, knowledgeable, wise, intelligent, organised, united, innovative, creative, stronger, determined to have days like GE2008. In your area is the same you cannot break the bye laws and whatever laws. If it is better it is because you people made it happen , you have help yourself and you need no God either to do that.

The newspaper tell lies otherwise license no more, editor sacked, correspondent lock up and harassed, threaten.
Why is this so, because you have benefitted from their plans in the short term, over long termed –see after 20 years, who really lost but luckily there is the internet , we know many great malaysians who made world recognitions in the developed world. Thsoe are the results of opposition plans, produce great malaysians and bring money back to the nation.

I vote for change and forward change
I vote for assimilation into the global community

    I vote for DAP

A good election year for the opposition, things look good and voters this time around is going to change the wind. More opposition members will be voted into state and Parliament and a well check and balance team against the ruling coalition party.
    Until to date, forecast from the sentiment of voters around the country stands as;

    Kelantan- PAS will win Majority,
Terengganu- PAS will have a narrow Majority,
    Perlis- PAS is 50/50 chance,
    Kedah- PAS increase seats,
Penang- DAP increase seats and giving Barisan a tough fight.
Perak- DAP will sweep Ipoh Timur, Batu Gajah,Gopeng,Kampar,Bruas,Taiping. Ipoh barat is keenly fought and the party needs to work harder this time. They will also be more representation at state level,
Selangor- More opposition seats but still unknown yet,
Wilayah Persekutuan- DAP will retain thier seats but watch out for Lembah Pantai,Segambut and Bandar Tun Razak, opposition 50/50 of winning.
Other State will see surprise seats taken over by opposition but relatively still unknown of the nos.
The Barisan Nasional is party full of lies and unwanted arrogant top people who just think for themselves and taking opportunity of the Rakyat to increase their personal gains on every Project undertaken.

They do not have mercy on the Rakyat but cheat them by giving false impression. We are sure of our strong opposition leaders to check on them or even form the goverment.

I have been following our general election since 1974 then PEKEMAS and DAP.
The most impressive of the DAP is during 1982 election,
where DAP candidates won almost in every state capital and also the first opposition party to win in Sarawak(Kuching and Sibu), and 1990 election short of forming Penang state goverment and the defeat of Dr. Lim Chong eu.

I have also attended a number of ceramahs in Ipoh,Kl and other state and a large crowds attend.

This time the year of the opposition and long live the ROCKET!

    Waterfrontcoolie,
Yes, it is the middle class that concerns me too. They are the ones who think the world is at their feet. Typically snobbish but hardly take notice of what is going on in the country. They are the ones that could be easily persuaded and influenced by the campaign tactics in the mass media. To win them over, it is best that the oppositions from now on speak on specifics, something that the rakyat can easily relate to.

The oppositions must highlight specific issues and press for explanation or clarification from the BN parties, particularly UMNO, of all the specific misdeeds, abuses, manipulations, mismanagement, and corruption that happened during the last 20 years.

Yes talk less of corruption in general, talk more of specific case – like the submarine purchase payoff.

Talk less of religious bigotry in general, talk more of specific cases where citizens suffered as a result of such bigotry.

Talk less of mismanagement, talk more of specific case of how cost over-run in PKFTZ can reach such a proportion.

Talk less of ineffective policies, talk more of how government national automobile policy has caused the taxpayers and denied consumers of better and cheaper cars.

Talk less of the incompetence of government, talk more of how the government squandered billions and left our public transportation in shamble and as a result caused misery to the public.

Specifics are always easier to understand and relate to than concepts and generalities.

Like what Limkamput said, bring out the actual issues of corruption to the average ppl during the ceramahs. Tell the ‘average Malaysians’ those news which BN tries to block out!! Ask MCA and Gerakan, What is their commitment against Corruption? [ though I doubt they dare to talk about it. they are all involved one way or another!!!] Compare the costs of those ‘PIRATIZATION’ PROJECTS, HOW THE AVERAGE MALAYSIANS HAVE TO BEAR THE COSTS OF ALL THESE CHEATINGS AND SWINDLING!! for the next few generations!
Translate those BILLIONS into concrete projects which they can understand, the number of schools that could have been built just by the combined cost of PKFZ and the unsailable naval ships!!
Many Malaysians could fathom those Billions. For that matter, I think those BN leaders could not figure the number zeroes too, but they just pocket what they could squeeze out of the system! So long as they control the media.
So we can say the majority of the so-called ‘educated’ Malaysians are as smart as the graduates of the American Community colleges [ the same BN is sprouting all over the districts in the country!] All these Community colleges will fail; no doubt about it!; but who cares, the BN contractors have already collected their money! If these ‘mid’ class Malaysians still think they have got time to experiment’ with these suckers, don’t moan, just suck your thumbs for the next 5 years if you wouldn’t want to CHANGE NOW!! As the KING made it popular over 30 years ago’ IT’S NOW OR NEVER!!
It is so obvious that BN ceramahs have no more subject matter!!

    QuestionMan,
I think you better use your head a bit before asking silly questions.
    1. Can you prove that those who left DAP are due to Kit Siang? It is certainly more likely for opposition parties to encounter people “coming and going” for a simple reason that one needs conviction and commitment to stay in the opposition party. There are opportunists in BN and there are certainly opportunists in opposition parties including DAP.
    2. Can you prove that Guan Eng’s position in DAP is due to Kit Siang’s manoeuvring? What evidence have you got to prove that Guan Eng, on his own accord, can not assume the position he is holding now. By the way, as the secretary general of DAP, he had the distinction of having to go to Kamunting and Kajang prison. I suggest you check your facts first before insulting him. For all I know, you may be the BN dog here.
    3. What evidence have you got to prove that those without independent Chinese school education can not fight for the cause of Chinese education? I think your thinking is like a cave man.

    LimKamPut

Pls don’t call me the BN dog. I dislike what BN did in my town and this country as whole. I did not vote for BN for the seat of my town in the last election.

Having doubt in LGE does not mean that I support BN.

Only KS and those involved know what happened – whether is like what LimKamPut says, or there are also other reasons. the general public like me is not in a position to answer, but that does not mean we cannot ask. If these people left DAP for the reason stated by LimKamPut, never mind these people go. If losing people for the reasons that can be avoided, and DAP can avoid that in future, then the rocket can fly higher. We knew LGE sacrificed and went to Kamunting but just like him, some others experienced it in the 1990’s. but if you have others leaving and LGE rising, is it wrong to ask? why cannot ask? there are people I met having the same doubt like I have despite we do not dispute LKS hard work since the first day he put himself into politics. If LKS can clear this doubt I am sure more votes will be coming for the rocket. so pls take this as something that LKS can turn it around as something positive for him rather than having question marks around. Not all people follow the detail developments in rocket as detail as LimKamPut does – so we will have questions. If I can get the answer, I can then understand LKS more. If LimKamPut has the infor, just share it, but why the hell calling me the BN dog?

On the matter of Chinese SRJK (C) and Chinese secondary schools – yes LimKamPut is right, the non-Chinese ed can also fight for it. but you cannot deny that doubts will be there from the Chiense ed voters when they face a non-Chinese ed candidate. so like it or not, you can still call these group as “cave men” – it is a barrier LKS has to overcome. but if you react by saying “you cave man!” to the voters – it will not help LKS to overcome this barrier.

LimKamPut keeps on saying that “what evidence do you have”….come on, if I have the evidence, I did

  214. #214 by QuestionMan on Sunday, 2 March 2008 - 3:50 am

    More message to LimKamPut,

I admit that I am NOT a 100% rocket supporter as you are, but as I said earlier – I do NOT support what BN did in my town in particular, and in the country as whole.

Nobody is perfect and nobody understands everybody in detail. If I can ask questions on what BN did, I can also ask questions on what rocket did. If you have people like me asking you questions about rocket’s things, how do you react can affect the outcome on whether you can turn these people around to be on your side, or you scare them away. Some of those who ask you questions may be from BN, then you can do whatever you want to say to them….but some may be those “cave-men” coming out from the caves seeking answers. If you shout at them, the “cave men” will be frightened and don’t want to deal with you anymore. Then, you lost the opportunity to have more supports, and the “cave men” lost the opportunity to seeking answers from you on more matters.

It is your choice on how do you want to support LKS.

  219. #219 by limkamput on Sunday, 2 March 2008 - 1:33 pm

    QuestionMan,
Whatever you said is fair enough and I apologize for my outburst. You have the right to ask those questions, but I think the timing sucks which prompted me to think that you may be a BN intruder. We only have a few days left before election. You should have asked those question way before the election or after election but certainly not at this critical juncture. You are indirectly reinforcing doubts in the minds of many voters who may want to vote for DAP and other opposition parties.

Besides, what I hate most among Malaysians is that we are always attaching personalities to party – like who join the party and who leave the party. Politics is about ideal, principle and commitment to a cause. We support a party based on its principle which in the case of DAP is Malaysians First or Malaysian Malaysia. If without this ideal, frankly it does not matter whether LGE or LKS is there or otherwise. Those who have left the party, be there Wee CK, Lee LT, Liew KW, Keh KH must ask themselves whether they still stand of Malaysian Malaysia. If they are not, then it is good riddance. That is why I was rather unsympathetic to FPK of BG when she announced her decision not to contest earlier.

I am sorry if have misconstrued you. I just feel your questions came at the most inappropriate time.

As for Papi dog, there is no doubt that he a BN dog and a pervert sexist on the prowl. Ask Jong, she will tell more about this moron.

    QuestioinMan,
One more point. We like to have lots of doubts on opposition parties, particularly on their sincerity and ability to govern or even to be an effective opposition. But have we given the DAP a single day of opportunity to do anything substantive? For 42 years DAP has never been given a single day to rule a state, not to mention at the federal level. For 42 years we have never given the DAP even a sufficient number of seats to play its role as an effective opposition. And yet we have continued to raise doubts of their sincerity and ability. Sometimes, rightly or wrong, I feel that we are victims of indoctrination by MCA and Gerakan.

    And especially to Questionman,

After reading some of Limkamputs’s postings, I think his messages make a lot of sense.

For one ,I agree with him that what the party stand for is the big picture and who comes in and goes out of the party are actually smaller issues.

People come and go for many reasons, and it is not easy to stay long in the opposition with little or no rewards being offered.

People also go because of personality clashes,it is inevitable anywhere.

There can be only one Supremo in any party at any one time so that one can lead decisively rather than having “2 tigers residing on 1 hill” as the Chinese saying goes.

If you have “2 tigers”,the party will be engaged in so much infighting that it is so weakened that it will not be able fight the real battles outside the party.

Imagine if you have 5 Tigers in the party ?

Warlordism will prevail and there will be anarchy within the party.

Imagine China in the early 1900 before 1949.Chaos in China because of so many warlords trying to be Supremo, fighting with one another.

    Dear Sheriff Singh and others,

Do not waste time making projections.

Just get all your relatives and friends to come out and vote for the RAKYAT.Do not stop talking to people from now till polling day.

Just go all out.Stop at nothing.

    Its Now or Never.

    I do not fear.Fear not.

    Just do it.

    Fear nobody except GOD!

Treat this election as the fight between Good and Evil.

It is a fight between Light and Darkness

And Light shall always eventually triumph.

But for that to happen,we must always take that first step.

God helps those who help themselves

“One more point. We like to have lots of doubts on opposition parties,…..have we given the DAP a single day of opportunity to do anything substantive? For 42 years we have never given… And yet we have continued to raise doubts of their sincerity and ability. … I feel that we are victims of indoctrination by MCA and Gerakan.” Limkamput aka Lebai Kamal bin Put

    Who is “we”??? LOL

  225. #225 by limkamput on Sunday, 2 March 2008 - 11:31 pm

    Papi dog
We here include all, except a donkey which is you, yes you. Only donkey will make such a comment. In fact it is not a comment at all, it is just a donkey braying. The same pathetic donkey that made a pass on Jong. Come on donkey, you must at least know your station in life. Nobody will accept you because you are just a donkey, no standard.

  226. #226 by Come2Papa on Sunday, 2 March 2008 - 11:43 pm

You mean this is making a pass at Jong??

    Come2Papa Says:
    Yesterday at 01: 37.26

“Jong, you’re too old to be watching American Idol.”

    Muahahhaha..hahaha!

  227. #227 by Jong on Monday, 3 March 2008 - 1:33 am

You know what “come2papa”, you are a bleddy annoying moron! Do give some respect to YB Kit for giving us space meant for exchanges and intelligent discussion and not for you to pick on others. Shame on you!

Just go away and give us some peace. You should stop your nonsence having realised that your offending sexist comment was taken off by the moderator, or have you not?

  228. #228 by Come2Papa on Monday, 3 March 2008 - 2:18 am

now you see what i mean! the lady is mad because i said she’s too old! and you call that a “pass”

    muahaha..haha.

  229. #229 by Come2Papa on Monday, 3 March 2008 - 2:30 am

one jeniffer just another cyber space personality said to YB “I love you” and i wrote “i love you too” what’s is so sexist about that, huh?

jong, you got mad because i said you were “too old” to be watching “american idol”. i can understand that. but let’s not get carried away! you were ok up to that point! my apologies if i offended you with that “sexist” remark.

all of a sudden the word “sexist” has come to mean different things to different people. thanks to BN “bocor” MPs! for many they never heard of the word until it became popular when BN “bocor” MPs first introduced it to parliament.

“sexist” is an attitude not a vulgar word!

  230. #230 by Come2Papa on Monday, 3 March 2008 - 2:41 am

let me educate you guys a bit. here’s the meaning of the word “sexism”.

“sexism” means ” stereotyping or discrimination typically against women on the basis of sex.

note the word “typically” – a woman can also be sexist in her attitude towards men. it is not an offensive term.

there you go! hope you get a little education on the word. happy to oblige you in case you need help.

  231. #231 by limkamput on Monday, 3 March 2008 - 10:28 am

hello papi dog, we the human do not learn from donkey, got it? Donkeys don’t talk, they just bray and that is you, yes you. You don’t tell a lady “you are too old”. Only a donkey will bray such a thing! Nobody needs any help from a donkey. If we need anything from the donkeys, we just whip them. By the way, you could be an old fart.
It is not just Jong who got mad with you. Please read this: 1. mycroft Says to you: What a stupid and ignorant thing to say. 2. somaris Says this to you: Let me tell u this? Lim kit Siang do good thing for all the people. Tell me what u do for the people ? Please have some respect. Please GROW UP.
You see, I think most of the people here have a built-in sense of fair play and justice in them. When they see a perverted donkey on the prowl, they know. Yes, don’t get confused again, that perverted donkey is you, papi dog @ darkhorse, dracula, colonel, bodo godamn, diaperhead, blackeye.

i m not very good in politics, but all i know, this country need a healthy change, i dont mind if a brand new changes to be prove by another party other than bn for 5 years as a sign of competition, it seems there are heavy transparencies felt in this election,
most we can feel it abt money politics and religion takeover, i dont see any great benefit by continue empire with promises and thing still in transparencies,
the winning combination arise in BN just because of mixed party into one big umbrella, wherease i dont see any big changes happened after our ex PM step down, even he does a good job, he still set some rule unjustified, it might agree special previledge must be given to bumi, but i dont see any benefits granted by most bumi i know, all we want is a stable economy and peace, oh yeah, BN always threathen us with peace issue, sound like something gonna happen if BN lose, god bless us with this threaT

  234. #234 by limkamput on Monday, 3 March 2008 - 2:16 pm

MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting said : Any defeat of MCA and Gerakan candidates in the elections will weaken the political strength of the Chinese community in the country’s administration.

May be we should ask this papi dog, aka come2papi @ darkhorse to elaborate what strength the MCA has got now that will be further weakened. As the mah chai of OKT, I am sure this papi dog can elaborate and help to defense his boss.

As for me, MCA got strength left meh? I only know Soi Lek got some strength lah! But he also not contesting already.

  235. #235 by limkamput on Monday, 3 March 2008 - 2:20 pm

Tsu Koon says: Three Gerakan leaders Hock Nan, Chang Yeow and Kah Choon have been told to be “psychologically prepared” to succeed him as Penang Chief Minister.

See the desperation. Ini main tikam kah, Tsu Koon? You think we so stupid meh. Pretend all three candidates got the chance to be CM so that all the three them and their supporters will give their votes to Gerakan. High hope lah this time around, the party that gerak (move a bit) only and want to kan (you imagine lah what this is) and hence Gerakan. How to survive in this modern time! You got only one post lah, how to give to three fellows? Even that one post also UMNO decides lah, may be is this time Papi bin Paku. But we would prefer LGE lah.

  236. #236 by limkamput on Monday, 3 March 2008 - 2:23 pm

Lim Keng Yaik said: The people are being used by the DAP “father-and-son team” of Lim Kit Siang and Lim Guan Eng to further their personal and party interest.

Huh, you sar su ku ar? You gila scumbag you dare say LKS and LGE fighting for personal interest. The whole wide world knows you treat Gerakan like your personal property and even as a so-called advisor, you are still calling all the shots. You son can’t even speak properly lah, how come can he be a Gerakan candidate? Because of scum bag like you, this country has continued to go down the drain. LKS is equivalent to PAP’s LKY, got it? The sooner you “gerak only want to kan” people disappear, the better for ALL Malaysians.

  237. #237 by alberto on Monday, 3 March 2008 - 10:10 pm

    Koh Tsu Koon,
Go and become a senator and you still can become a minister. Good ridance to kai see CM and not effective CM

  238. #238 by Jong on Tuesday, 4 March 2008 - 12:09 am

Koh Tsu Koon knows it, he’s edgy about Gerakan/BN’s performance this coming GE. The BN has lost confidence that they’ll be able to form the next Penang State Govt. Also to announce the Chief Minister candidate before the result is out, will only turn out to be an embarrassing affair.

Furthermore, this spineless ampu-bodek had last month handed this “perogative” to UMNO President Abdullah Ahmad Badawai, remember? He is now too ‘malu’ to remind reporters who interviewed him, that he had already lost that perogative.

  239. #239 by Jong on Tuesday, 4 March 2008 - 12:11 am

Note: The perogative of the State Govt to choose its
    Chief Minister.

  240. #240 by limkamput on Tuesday, 4 March 2008 - 12:33 am

I have asked so many times to all the wannabe lawyers here, including the papi dog, what the state constitutions said with regard to appointment of CMs and MBs. No wannabe has come back to me so far. In the meantime, everybody says it is the sleepy PM’s prerogative. Every damn thing in the country is the prerogative of the Prime Minster. We may as well dissolve everything and let him rule alone.

  241. #241 by Jong on Tuesday, 4 March 2008 - 1:36 am

I watched Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on late night news an hour ago. My gosh, I just thought to myself is he “tengah masak” or “nyanyok” ?

He dared to claim that the 4 years under his leadership had been a success and he had solved every problem blah blah blah….!

About Penang, the people have had enough of BN and are fedup to the teeth, don’t even want to have anything to do with them anymore. It’s as good as gone for them!

  242. #242 by Jong on Tuesday, 4 March 2008 - 9:35 am

    limkamput,

I am not sure if the “perogative” is in the State’s constitution but definitely it had been the practice for the party that formed the state government to choose its own Chief Minister.

Gerakan had been doing that all along and they were horrified why Koh Tsu Koon willingly gave up that right to the UMNO President? What this acting Gerakan chieftian Koh Tsu Koon did has angered the people of Penang. It’s “unforgiving” and they want to punish him that he also looses his seat. Battle call!

  243. #243 by limkamput on Wednesday, 5 March 2008 - 12:16 am

Yes, Jong, this is the final push, we shall never give up and never doubt. In the next few days, more damaging accusation, threat and “fitnah” will be put up by BN dogs aimed at causing the maximum damage to the oppositions. We have to be prepared. It is definitely coming. The BN are experts in doing stuff like that. Remember what they did to Tengku Razaleigh by accusing him of becoming a Catholic when he was with Semangat 46? Yes, at the last hours they will be doing the ultimate surprise and by then they will probably shut down all communication so that oppositions may not be able to contain the damage. We must prepare our people physiologically for the last minute surprise. Tell our people to be steadfast, never waver and just vote for the oppositions. The present model and system of government no longer works. Just throw every one of them out. Yes every one of them if possible, come what may.

  244. #244 by kickbutt on Wednesday, 5 March 2008 - 2:33 am

    that’s really stupid limkamput!

  245. #245 by limkamput on Wednesday, 5 March 2008 - 3:19 pm

Who is more stupid, me or someone who named himself to be “kicked at the butt”? Yes people like you should be kicked right in the butt, papi dog. You are such a coward. It is really beyond my imagination you could actually scoop so low just to come after me. What have I done to you other than my feather is too bright for you. It is not really my fault you know. You just have to learn to accept reality; you are not as smart as me. So no matter how hard you tried, you can never out maneuver me, got it?

  246. #246 by undertaker988 on Friday, 7 March 2008 - 2:10 pm
