That should have been the decision in the last GE but the people of Malaysia were easily swayed by the “sweet talk” given by BN. That’s why we are now suffering the consequences.

We’ve a mentally retarded govt. All they know is race based politics, they thrive on it just like bacteria thrive on living matter. How many of the UMNO leaders are truely academic ? They’ve pushed their way forcefully to the Universities via NEP., and then ,all we get is GOONS for leaders. They no nothing but harp on trivial issues . The breathe race politics (RP ) , they eat RP , drink RP ,sleep RP , and wake to RP each day , and Know of nothing else,
And what else , they then try bribing the minorities when election is around the corner , Thaipusam holiday, jobs in the govt. sector for indians and more funding for Chinese schools.,? Are we a bunch of Morons?
We’re are all Malaysians, to hell with the racial categories., help whoever is in need , irrespective of race creed or colour. The country needs good leaders to survive in this competetive world. If indeed the priority is to help the Malays so be it, but do it correctly , spend money on educating them , extra classes , tuition funding , so that they become intelligent and we can have a fair competion and the end result ‘ll be good intelligent leaders (irrespective of race), by spoonfeeding them , more misery is created , like what we’re currently facing.
Don’t rule by dividing and subdividing., it wud only bring ruin, that’s what the British wanted , and I think they have succeded.
50yrs is enough , vote these goons out, we need a 2nd independence for the true survival of this country. There is alot of catching up with the rest of the world. The present govt makes me want to puke.

In this election, we have all the parties concentrating on the non-Malay votes to deny 2/3 majority. Even with condition as ripe as it is, the opposition still need the stars to be aligned to get it done.
The original founders of this country envisioned this country where it was hoped that each race through dialogue and compromise build a consensus. It never intended for one group to have complete domination. It was deemed that each group had its strengths and weakness and that dialogue and interchange of opinions and ideas was the way forward.
Instead we have one race domination politically while the other races are ransomed and without defense politically only economically.
Our system was suppose to have a reasonable amount of checks and balance. The executive and legislative was not independent but was not meant to be one and the same. Even less was envisioned was the loss of independence of our judiiciary AND the election commission, creations of our constitution. The truth is the last thing envisioned was that the legislative independence is so critical.
People must realize how far we have been led afar from the original intent of our founding fathers and that it was never intended that their votes be so critical as it is today. The role of the vote is ever more critical as we see the farce that is revealed before our eyes of the Lingam-tape and the election machining..

I don’t understand other than preventing BN from amending the Constitution without support from the Opposition, what more does it do or can it do to check the continued maladministration of the country? The Cabinet will be a BN Cabinet. The government will be a BN led government. The Deputy Prime Minister will be from UMNO. The Prime Minister will continue to listen to the voices in his head telling him to appoint Zaki Tun Azmi as CJ etc etc.
It is going to be business as usual. The public inquiry into the alleged “fixing of senior judicial appointments” will have its outcome fixed like everything else. The Altuntaya murder case will see all three accused go free. It is not the kind of change Barack Obama would like to see for the United States. It is not the kind of change we’d like to see for Malaysia.
Where do we go from here?

I always wish there would be a change. At least a near balance between the ruling and opposition parties, so that there is a counter check between the two.
I always there is democracy to the extent like what an ordinary american is enjoying.
I always wish it’s public’s right to have a Q & A session with the political figures running the country
I always wish there will be impeachment or punishment on the political figures what has not just let down the public, but it seems our politicians till now are still very gentlemen with no wrongdoings at all.
And I am still wishing………….till now after 50 years of independance.
Mr LKS……I really wish my vote for you will bring to succeed of change and make Malaysia a better place for us all.

I totally in what’s mentioned in this site.The only worries I have is actually how many ppl are reading what ‘s been written here.1000’s 0r 2000’s ppl?? Is it enough to swing the votes.
With the mass media been control by the BN , the oppositions must carry this infomations to as many as posible not only via internet but conventional ways.
With the “angpows ” to all the chinese schools i think some of the voters are the BN is the govt for them already.
With such ‘titbits amt’ some are already so overjoy. If only they stop building and upgrading surau they can build hundreds of chinese and indian schools.Think about it…fren.
With no time left …concentrate on getting all this vote swinging facts across fast….damp fast please.

It is getting harder & harder to deny BN 2/3 majority. The EC has introduced more & more new constituencies over the decades.
Just look – are these new constituencies born in areas more favourable to DAP/PKR? I don’t think so……. most areas are BN areas.

I remembered someone from UMNO blared that they don’t need Chinese votes in the coming election. With Hindraf, BN would have lost the 10% Indian votes (exception of course by Samy Vellu and gang). That means BN would have lost 40% of votes leaving just 60% to be shared by BN, DAP, PKR and others. So just how many percent of this 60% does BN think it will get. Mathematically, the coming GE will be a disaster for BN!!!

For those non-Malays who want to vote opposition but fear being denied development, I suggest to them it won’t.
The conventional wisdom is that the Malays will overwhelmingly vote for UMNO this election. But if history and Badawi’s strategy suggest that it may not and in fact likely not to be for the election after this.
Already you here there are cracks in UMNO. The situation in Perlis is now in public, Sabah has been brewing for a long time, now there is report of unhappiniess in Penang.
It occured to me that Badawi’s current strategy of trying to placate the warlords in his parties in UMNO is unworkable eventually. The warlords are political animals and Badawi action is always to walk away from the frictions resulting in much infighting. All it takes is a trigger like a slowdown in the economy, likely within the next 5 years, and UMNO in-fighting will cost in terms of electoral votes.
In the scenario of loss of support from the Malays, UMNO/BN have historically reach out to the non-Malay votes because the non-Malay votes are rational, not about turf.
So those who are looking for development, should really consider voting for opposition this time because those events, the infighting and an eventual economic slowdown is imminent. When that happens, the govt will turn on the tap and deliver those promises such as the Chinese schools faster than you can count them….

Again DAP’s battle cry as in the previous elevtions is simply to deny BN the 2/3 majority. Again and again in this blog, the great LKS have been trying his best to convince us all that the BN is corrupt, racists, mediocre and what not … but at the end of it a.. the DAP is just going to just deny BN their 2/3 majority. After all these years, I think that the DAP should be bold and brave enough to say that they are going to be the next government. Isn’t that what a political party should be aiming for that is to be the government? Come on DAP … be bold and declare that come this election.. Malaysia is going to have a new PM …. the present battle cry should be thrown out years ago !!!!

Given the decades old racial and religious biased policy,gerrymendering,high density urban constituency as compared to low density rural constituency,mindset of the rural folks,overwhelming control of radio,tv and other MSM,NEP etc,it is definitely very difficult for DAP to declare that they can form the next government let alone denying BN the 2/3 majority by itself without PKR +PAS.

agreed, to deny the majority of BN! Many ppl still remember some of the sarcastic UMNO members movement with their offensive speech (with no drastic disciplinary action taken to them), the way they want to please the malay voters, although GE candies or gimmicks comes out again for more SJK (C) or (T) to be established, although announcement of Thaipusam as holiday for Federal Territory, Apologise frm UMNO leaders to Indians for dismantle of Hindu Temple at Deepavali’s eve,…but we remember what they did over the past years, we never lost our memories, especially young ppl (age 21-35 yrs), not like many politicians always forget abt many things, such as the recent Judiciary issues, unveil the truth of many orresponsible ppl. “sounds like me, and looks like me”? very clever to protect ur ass, but u think the ppl here are all IQ below 50? we are not stupid, ok? Let’s see how is the Royal Commision to handle it. Bt the result sure only come out after election. For MCA, i knw u r trying hard, but u seems like no power at all, especially during UMNO members’ speech issues, UMNO leaders are not bothered! U see, what actions had been taken to those members? by voting to DAP does better effect and impact comparing to yours! we rather hv less inefficiency ppl in cabinet. The ministry of Cousumer affairs, u knw after u taking the position, we always have problems of shortage of flour, cooking oil, sugar, etc? failure of current leaders to unite all races, bias policies to help small grp of ppl with the excuse of helping bumi? over ctrl the medias, no proper channel for Rakyat to voice out their feelings, and many more..its too late to please Rakyat now, …at the same time, DAP and other opposition parties, pls be ready and prepared to rule the country one day in future, and now u seems like getting emotional votes for ppl who wants to change but no choice to choose opposition like spill over effect, u all only unite when near to election, but always could nt have a same objective towards consensus, we want any party will be ready to rule & lead the country anytime…more talented ppl and leaders are needed for opposition party! Those arrogant,racist and corrupt Umo politicians were so cocky in their speeches in the Parliament and also in their party assembly.Now near election they become hypocrites and shed crocodile tears to win votes from the other communities.Do not fall prey to such cheap tactics.They think the voters are ‘bodo’.Probably there are many voters out there in the rural areas who still can be fooled easily.But there are a lot of them too who have become smarter now . So use your votes to throw out the self serving,incapable and corrupted into the Strait of Malacca and South China Sea.
