Reply to Salleh – DAP neither sidelined nor do we dominate Pakatan Harapan, which is coalition of political equals based on the operational principle of consensus, unlike Barisan Nasional which is founded on UMNO hegemony

The Minister for Communications and Multimedia, Datuk Salleh Said Keruak was mystified by the Pakatan Harapan leadership council decision yesterday on the structure of Pakatan Harapan and asked about the absence of the DAP leaders in the top three positions in the Pakatan Harapan line-up.

He asked: “Was DAP sidelined or the line-up was deliberately done to make as if the coalition is dominated by the Malays?”

It is neither.

DAP is neither sidelined nor do we dominate Pakatan Harapan, which is coalition of political equals based on the operational principle of consensus, unlike Barisan Nasional which is founded on UMNO hegemony.

For quite some time, the main thrust of UMNO/BN propaganda of UMNO leaders, propagandists and cybertroopers was to purvey the lies, fake news and false information that DAP dominated Pakatan Harapan and that I am a “dictator of dictators”, exercising dictatorship not only in DAP but also in Pakatan Harapan; and that Malay leaders like Mohamad Sabu, Azmin Ali, Rafizi Ramli, Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Tan Sri Muhyiddin and Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad have sold their soul and were just my stooges and puppets.

This serves the UMNO grand strategy of a propaganda campaign of lies, fake news and false information to poison the Malay ground with the fear that if UMNO is defeated in the next general election, the Malays will suffer as the Chinese will grab the political power from the Malays.

These are all lies – for Malaysia can only start anew and find greatness if UMNO is defeated; and if UMNO is defeated, the Chinese will not grab the political power of the Malays as Malay political power in Malaysia is assured, with the Prime Minister from Pakatan Harapan a Malay and not a Chinese or non-Malay. Does Prime Minister Najib know that he is the”MO1” referred to in the US DOJ lawsuits to forfeit US$1.7 billion 1MDB-linked assets money-laundered through American banks?

I am quite impressed. Two page headline leads face-to-face on page 12 and page 13 in the New Straits Times (NST) – the page 12 headline lead “KIT SIANG’S RETIREMENT OFFER A ‘DIVERSION’” for a three-column report while page 13 headline lead “’KIT SIANG A HYPOCRITE’” for a four-column report.

I have never received such coverage by the self-proclaimed national mainstream newspaper before. Why have I suddenly become so important?

Pity, I am not one of NST fans.

Even greater pity that such prominent coverage comes at a time when the NST has degenerated from a newspaper into a lies-paper, with its formidable circulation in the region of 300,000 copies a day in the past shrinking to the pitiable figure of some 40,000 actually sold circulation today!

But the mission of NST, just like other media in the UMNO/BN stable, is not to report news but to disseminate lies, fake news and false information and there are many such lies, fake news and false information in the two mentioned NST reports today. Read the rest of this entry »

Alas – Kamarul Zaman is only a “downline” UMNO propagandist, and his admission that it is ridiculous for anyone to claim that “Lim Kit Siang is the DAP and DAP is Lim Kit Siang” will not stop the “upline” UMNO propagandists, cybertroopers and leaders from continuing such attacks

Kamrul Zaman Yusoff has done irreparable harm to the academic reputation of University Utara Malaysia (UUM) and I mourn for Malaysia’s university academic standards when people like him could become the director an university institute of political analysis.

Kamarul Zaman has only exhibited his academic mediocrity and sloppiness in his gem of lies and falsehoods in his latest FaceBook posting, repeating the garbage about a “DAP Christian agenda”, and claiming as proof two major “strategists” of such agenda, the DAP national organising secretary Anthony Loke and DAP national publicity chief Tony Pua.

But Kamarul Zaman did UUM and Malaysian universities’s academic reputation no favours when he committed the most rudimentary academic sin of being misled by Loke and Pua’s western names and not verifying that Loke and Pua are Christians in the first place. For Kamarul’s information, both Loke and Pua are not Christians. Where come the DAP’s “Christian agenda”? Read the rest of this entry »

‘Contest to label someone a racist is stupid’

TK Chua
Malaysiakini
26th May 2017

Depravity is a dangerous indulgence to fall into. It may cause us to lose our minds. We become stupid, not knowing we are.

There is another way of saying the same thing: “Those whom God wishes to destroy, He first drives them mad.”

How can they ever rationalise a contest to label someone is a racist? Is this not what the ‘Lim Kit Siang is racist’ writing contest is all about? Read the rest of this entry »

While Malaysians condemn the bombings and killings in Manchester, Mindanao and Jakarta, we must not allow the country to slide towards greater intolerance and extremism because of racial and religious politics of lies, hate and fear

Malaysians condemn the bombings and killings in Manchester, Mindanao and Jakarta but we must learn the lessons of these tragedies and horrors – we must not allow Malaysia to slide towards greater intolerance and extremism because of the racial and religious politics of lies, hate and fear.

Yesterday, Selangor DAP central committee member Edry Faizal Eddy Yusof lodged a police report over the death threats made against him on a hate-and-damn-DAP Facebook page.

As Edry said yesterday, differences in opinion are part of a healthy democracy, but not when it leads to extremists conjuring falsehoods and threatening a person’s safety. Read the rest of this entry »

UMNO/BN leaders and strategists expect UMNO, MCA, Gerakan and MIC to lose more seats in 14GE and this is why they are cranking up their campaign of lies, hate and fear, especially the triple lie-hate-fear tactics that if UMNO loses, the Malays will lose political power

The 14th General Election is getting closer and we can detect certain panic in UMNO/BN leadership quarters.

This is because some UMNO/BN leaders and strategists expect UMNO, MCA, Gerakan and MIC to lose more parliamentary seats in the 14th General Election, which is why they are cranking up their campaign of lies, hatred and fear, especially the triple lie-hate-fear tactics that if UMNO loses, the Malays will lose political power in the country.

This is a downright lie, for whatever happens in the 14th General Election, whether UMNO/BN is defeated by the Pakatan Harapan of PKR, Amanah, Pribumi Bersatu and DAP, the Malays will not lose political power in the country, for the following four reasons: Read the rest of this entry »

Malaysian PM Najib Razak accuses media of ‘fake news’, doubts corruption reports

Lindsay Murdoch
The Sydney Morning Herald
APRIL 20 2017

Bangkok: For two years Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak has shrugged off revelations by foreign journalists that almost $1 billion turned up in his personal bank accounts amid one of the world’s biggest ever financial scandals.

Now Mr Najib, preparing to call early elections, has accused journalists of fabricating fake news about Malaysia.

“This tide of fake and false news threatens of turn the truth into a purely subjective matter, with little relation to the actual facts,” he told an Asian media awards event in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday evening.

In a country where the mainstream media is tightly controlled by the government and small independent media outlets are under constant threat of closure and legal action, Mr Najib also claimed that free speech is “thriving”, pointing to what he called regular criticism of the government, ministers and officials in the local media.

But with freedom, he said, comes responsibility. He quoted the then Manchester Guardian’s long-time editor CP Scott who famously declared that “comment is free, but facts are sacred”. Read the rest of this entry »

New Straits Times admitting that it has transformed itself from a “newspaper” into a “lies-paper”

It must be a new phenomenon in the world of Malaysian journalism – New Straits Times admitting that it has transformed itself from a “news-paper” into a “lies-paper”, without any compunction or sense of journalistic responsibility by claiming that it was only reporting on the “lies” by others in its pages and columns.

It is significant that the New Straits Times response to my speech at the Johor DAP State Leaders Retreat at Kukup, Johor on Saturday about UMNO/BN mainstream media unabashedly transforming themselves from newspapers to “lies-papers” made no attempt to deny that they were publishing “lies” instead of news, except to claim that they were publishing the “lies” spread by others.

Will the New Straits Times similarly oblige DAP and Pakatan Harapan leaders and print whatever “lies” concocted by them about the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, UMNO and Barisan Nasional in the NST pages and columns?

Of course not and this will be the correct decision for journalists must be guided by the canons of journalism, the most fundamental of which is that a newspaper should not degenerate into a “lies-paper”! Read the rest of this entry »

The 14th general elections is going to be dirtiest in nation’s history when UMNO/BN mainstream media have unabashedly transformed themselves from newspapers into “lies-papers”

The 14th General elections is going to be dirtiest in the nation’s history when UMNO/BN owned or controlled mainstream media have unabashedly transformed themselves from newspapers into “lies-papers”.

In the past four months, UMNO/BN mainstream media like Utusan Malaysia, New Straits Times, Berita Harian and Star have become “lies-papers” as part of the UMNO/BN campaign to demonise Pakatan Harapan leaders and myself, where I am described as a devil, puaka, even jembalang; that I am anti-Malay, anti-Islam; cause of May 13, 1969 riots; a communist; a stooge of foreign powers; that I dominate Pakatan Harapan and made other leaders like Tun Mahathir, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Datuk Seri Azmin Ali and Mohamad Sabu as my stooges and puppets – all sorts of evil under the Malaysian sun!

This is not because I have suddenly become No. 1 national security risk, or the greatest threat to UMNO/BN government, but simply because UMNO leaders and propagandists are in a panic mood as they have realised that there is a possibility that they have lost the support of the majority of Malay voters in the country. UMNO/BN mainstream media like Utusan Malaysia, New Straits Times, Berita Harian and Star should stop their demeaning role as “lies-papers” and return to their traditional and time-honoured role as newspapers

In the past four months, we see the transformation of UMNO/BN mainstream media like Utusan Malaysia, New Straits Times, Berita Harian and Star from newspapers into “lies-papers” as part of the UMNO/BN campaign to demonise Pakatan Harapan leaders and myself, where I am described as a devil, puaka, even jembalang; that I am anti-Malay, anti-Islam; cause of May 13, 1969 riots; a communist; a stooge of foreign powers; that I dominate Pakatan Harapan and made other leaders like Tun Mahathir, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Datuk Seri Azmin Ali and Mohamad Sabu as my stooges and puppets – all evils possible under the Malaysian sun!

But we can also notice something most unusual – that the intensification and escalation of the demonisation campaign of Pakatan Harapan leaders and myself, blatantly turning UMNO/BN newspapers into “lies-papers” through lies, fake news and false information, have not given the UMNO/BN leaders solace or relief, for they are beginning to realise that their worst escalation of demonisation campaign against Pakatan Harapan leaders and myself are not getting the traction or credibility to restore UMNO fortunes in the Malay ground.

This is one reason for the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s latest political and strategic decision to make Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein as Minister for Special Functions in the Prime Minister’s Department, in addition to his portfolio as Defence Minister – clearly placing Hishammuddin as the No. 2 most powerful man in the Najib administration over and above the Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi.

Clearly, Najib is more fearful that UMNO would be defeated in the 14th General Election than in the 13th General Election in 2013 – and the reason why the demonisation campaign against Pakatan Harapan leaders and myself have reached ludicrous proportion. Read the rest of this entry »

How many times have Najib met Jho Low, where and when, after the 13th General Election and did the Prime Minister meet Jho Low during his last official visit to China?

I am intrigued by the high-powered and well-orchestrated UMNO/BN demonization campaign against me in the past three months, which appeared to be reaching a climax in the past week.

But I detect something unusual in this UMNO/BN demonization campaign, using a rojak of lies, fake news and false information through UMNO/BN owned and controlled “mainstream media” and the social media to demonise me as a devil, an hantu, puaka or even jembalang; that I am anti-Malay, anti-Islam; that I was the cause of the May 13 racial riots in 1969; that I am a communist; a stooge of Singapore PAP, etc, etc.

Normally, a propaganda campaign starts with light-weight personalities reaching a crescendo with the participation of increasingly heavy-weight figures. But here we see the reverse taking place.

The demonization campaign of the BN Director of Strategic Communications against me started with heavy-artillery salvos from principal UMNO leaders and Ministers but it is in danger of petering out, as seen by deployment of the UMNO Youth deputy chief, Senator Khairul Azman Harun in the UMNO/BN media, New Straits Times and Utusan Malaysia today.

It is quite laughable to see Utusan Malaysia employing a special logo in this demonization campaign against me, with images of myself, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Tun Dr. Mahathir, Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Mohd Sabu and the wordings in a red-boxed caption “ASALKAN BUKAN PAKATAN KIT SIANG”, but somehow, the demonization campaign is unable to enlist personalities of heavier political weight to join in but have to make do with persons of lesser political weight like a UMNO Youth deputy leader.

Why Abdul Rahman Dahlan evades the question why he is not fighting his own battle and instead, run crying to “MO1” for SOS to direct other UMNO Ministers and leaders to come to his rescue?

The self-styled Barisan Nasional Director of Strategic Communications (in actual fact, BN Director of Strategic Lies), Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan should not evade my question to him yesterday why he is not fighting his own battle and instead, run crying to “MO1” for SOS to direct other UMNO Ministers and leaders to come to his rescue?

When I told Abdul Rahman yesterday to stand on his own two feet to fight his own battle, and not to depend on other UMNO leaders to come to his aid, at least five UMNO leaders – four UMNO Ministers and one UMNO Deputy Minister – had already been enlisted into Abdul Rahman’s demonization campaign against me.

They were the Minister for Rural and Regional Development, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, the Minister for Education, Datuk Mahdzir Khalid, the Minister for Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism, Datuk Hamzah Zainudin, Minister for Communications and Multimedia, Datuk Seri Mohd Salleh Said Keruak and the Deputy Transport Minister, Datuk Ab Aziz Kaprawi.

By today, this “Support Abdul Rahman’s Demonisation of Lim Kit Siang” has expanded to include the Minister for Housing and Local Government, Datuk Nor Omar and the Wanita UMNO chief, Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, whose statements appeared in the UMNO/BN mainstream media and I expect more UMNO/BN Ministers and leaders to join in the demonization campaign at the behest of “MO1”. Fight your own battle Abdul Rahman, why you have to run SOS to “MO1” to direct other UMNO Ministers and Deputy Ministers to come to your rescue?

Let me tell the Barisan Nasional Director of Strategic Communications, Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan: Fight your own battle, why have you to run SOS to “MO1” to direct other UMNO Ministers and Deputy Ministers to come to your rescue?

Suddenly, in the last 24 hours, four UMNO Ministers and one UMNO Deputy Ministers have come to the rescue of Abdul Rahman, shoring support for the BN Director of Strategic Communications and opening fire on me as part of the latest UMNO/BN demonization campaign. Read the rest of this entry »

Malaysians must Save Malaysia, which lost it way in failing to be an exemplary economic and political success in the last six decades, to reset nation-building directions and policies

My political life started in Batu Pahat, from my political interests in my school days in Batu Pahat High School.

My class of the Year 1959 in Batu Pahat High School had been quite active and outstanding, as it produced six doctors including a surgeon (Dr. Chong Guan Chock, Dr. Chan Soh Ha, Dr. Hee Tien Lai, Dr. Chia Sze Foong and Dr. Ow Yang Chee Wah), two engineers, two lawyers, two architects, two journalists, two university academicians, an accountant, a quantity surveyor, a town planner, a timber grader, a dozen educationists and teachers as well as others.

It produced three Members of Parliament who became a Minister (Datuk Mustapha Mohamad), a Deputy Speaker (Dr. Hee Tien Lai) and a Parliamentary Opposition leader.

I did not get involved in politics until 51 years ago, and I can still remember seeking the views of classmates at the end of 1965, and they thought that it was quite crazy for me to give up a comfortable and secure job as a journalist for the unknown challenges and terrain of direct political involvement.

The last 51 years had not been a holiday or a “bed of roses”, but a tough political journey and even a “crown of thorns”. Read the rest of this entry »

My third lesson for Abdul Rahman Dahlan – 邪不胜正 (Evil cannot triumph over good)

Today is April 1 or April Fools’ Day. As part of April Fools pranks, some newspapers report fake stories to fool the readers.

This was what I thought when I saw the New Straits Times Page 10 headline and report: “KIT SIANG ‘PRETENDING TO BE ELECTED LEADER’” with a second headline “Only those who are blind and naïve cannot see that the DAP adviser is a dictator, says Hamzah”.

I realized that this was not a April Fools’ Day prank, however, when the other UMNO/BN owned and controlled mainstream media also carried the same story, making the top of Utusan Malayia Page 13 with the headline: “Kit Siang seorang dictator?” and the Berita Harian which devoted the whole of Page 9 to “Kit Siang pemimpin dictator: Hamzah”.

Clearly, this was deadly serious business – part of a massive propaganda psy-war against me! Read the rest of this entry »

My second lesson for Abdul Rahman Dahlan is the Confucian saying 名正才能言順 as he is not BN Director of Strategic Communications but BN Director of Strategic Lies

Today, I want to give Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan a second lesson, which is the Confucian saying 名正才能言順 as he is not BN Director of Strategic Communications but BN Director of Strategic Lies.

In a nutshell, the Confucian saying means that “The beginning of wisdom is to call things by their proper name.”

If for political mileage and survival, Abdul Rahman must mastermind a campaign of lies, fake news and false information against the Opposition, don’t couch them as euphemisms when they are downright falsehoods, like claiming that he is Director of Strategic Communication when he is nothing more than Director of Strategic Lies.

Abdul Rahman had been responsible for many “strategic lies” which include: Read the rest of this entry »

Rahman Dahlan reminds me of the Chinese saying 朽木不可雕 as he continues to score his own goal despite my earlier attempt to educate him – but he is unteachable as he is unlearnable!

Abdul Rahman Dahlan reminds me of the Chinese saying 朽木不可雕 as he continues to score his own goal despite my attempt to educate him.

For the past three days, I had tried to educate him what a BN Director of Strategic Communications should do and should not do.

For instance, I told him that he should not be sabotaging any efforts by DAP grassroots members and leaders who allegedly want a change of DAP party leadership and want me to retire from politics, as this is what he did when he publicly championed their cause – but all these allegations are of course a figment of his imagination!

Furthermore, I told Rahman that if he is right that I am such a failure in DAP, he should just quietly pray that I do not retire and continue to be active in DAP affairs to bring ruin and disaster to DAP which best serve the interests of UMNO/BN coalition.

But Rahman does not undertstand such simple logic and reasoning, which any intelligent student would be able to grasp immediately.

Why is Rahman scoring his own goal, in wanting me to retire from DAP when it should be to the UMNO/BN interests that I continue – as according to Rahman , I would be causing the DAP’s downfall as I am such a DAP failure!

In fact, he should be singing praises of me to entice me to continue to be active in DAP and banish all thought of retirement since I am such a failure in DAP and is of such great service to UMNO/BN!

Why is so Rahman so dim and blur about what is strategic for UMNO/BN, and what is not? Read the rest of this entry »

Rahman Dahlan should prove he is a patriot by asking Najib to resign as Prime Minister if Najib is not prepared to clear Malaysia of the curse, infamy and ignominy of being ridiculed world-wide as a global kleptocracy because of 1MDB money-laundering scandal

I am quite bemused by the latest antics of the Barisan Nasional Strategic Communications Director Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan, although I must thank him for finally resolving the question in my mind as to what are the job specifications of a BN Strategic Communications Director – which is clearly to create and amass “strategic lies” about the Opposition and to use them to attack the Opposition parties in the BN-UMNO owned or controlled mainstream mass media and the social media.

This is the reason for the outpouring, close to an avalanche, of demonization of myself in the last three months in the UMNO/Barisan owned or controlled mass media, like the New Straits Times, Utusan Malaysia, Berita Harian, Star, or TV3, when for the past half a century of my political activities, I was blacked out in these media, with clear directive given in one mainstream media that my photograph was never to be used.

Now I appear almost daily, if not in New Straits Times, then in Utusan, Berita Harian, Star or TV3, even with pictures – but there were no news, facts or truth, but downright lies, falsehood and fake news.

A recent egregious example of such lies, falsehoods and fake news is the allegation that Tun Mahathir and I had a secret meeting on Dec. 3 last year where a secret deal was struck that Mukhriz Mahathir would be the Prime Minister and I be the Deputy Prime Minister, when there was never such a meeting between Mahathir and myself on Dec. 3, and we had never discussed the subjects of Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister in our discussions so far.

The latest example of such BN “strategic lies” is that I had masterminded electoral fraud in the DAP party elections in 2012, which is a new twist to a tissue of lies which had been concocted and disseminated in BN/UMNO misinformation campaign in the past few years.

Abdul Rahman wants me to retire from politics for failing to topple Barisan Nasional in previous general elections and he said that I should “feel ashamed” towards DAP party members and should make way for other capable leaders.

It is Abdul Rahman who is a man of no shame, who does not realise that he is making a fool of himself, trying to shed “crocodile tears”.
If I am such a political failure in DAP, then Abdul Rahman should be praying fervently that I will remain instead of wanting to see me retire. What hypocrisy, cant and utter bunkum from the BN Strategic Communications Director! Read the rest of this entry »

Pieces falling into place – there is a high-powered and well-orchestrated campaign to break Pakatan Harapan by demonizing DAP and me, hoping at least to break my spirit and force my retirement from politics

Pieces are falling into place – there is a high-powered and well-orchestrated campaign to break Pakatan Harapan by demonizing DAP and me, hoping at least to break my spirit and force my retirement from politics.

The two pieces which finally convince me of such a high-powered and well-orchestrated campaign were the latest attack from the MCA Deputy President and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Wee Ka Siong replete with lies and falsehoods and the uncharacteristic salvo from UMNO MP for Balik Pulau and Deputy Health Minister accusing me of being untrustworthy and a person not to be believed.

Before this, there were blasts from the UMNO Information chief, Annuar Musa culminating in taking hate politics to new height in Malaysia, offering RM10,000, which was upped to RM50,000 within 24 hours, for the “best” essay or social media posting that I am anti-Malay and anti-Islam and the “missing person” banners and posters which were put up in the Gelang Patah parliamentary constituency.

I have never seen such an outpouring, close to an avalanche, of demonization of myself as in the last three months in the UMNO/Barisan owned or controlled mass media, like the New Straits Times, Utusan Malaysia, Berita Harian, Star, or TV3, when for the past half a century of my political activities, I was blacked out in these media, with clear directive given in one mainstream media that my photograph was never to be used.

Now I appear almost daily, if not in New Straits Times, then in Utusan, Berita Harian, Star or TV3, even with pictures – but there were no news, facts or truth, but downright lies, falsehood and fake news to demonise me, describing me as a devil, an hantu, puaka or even jembalang, as if I breathe fire or eat babies for breakfast; that I am anti-Malay, anti-Islam, that I was the cause of the May 13 racial riots in 1969 (exactly 48 years ago) although I was never in Kuala Lumpur during that period and was in fact in Kota Kinabalu on that tragic day of May 13, 1969; that I am a communist; a stooge of Singapore PAP.

An example of such fake news and false information, is the weekend claim by the BN Strategic Communication Director and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Abdul Rahman Dahlan that there are DAP grassroots members and even leaders who want a change of DAP party leadership and that I should retire from politics. Cabinet tomorrow should sponsor a RM100,000 essay or social media posting contest on “Is Najib a kleptocrat?” or “Is Malaysia a global kleptocracy?”?

Today, the UMNO Information Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa offererd RM10,000 for the best essay or social media posting which can prove that I am a “racist”.

He said that the social media posting or essay should be titled “LKS is a racist, anti-Islam and a dictator of 51 years, is it true?”.

He said that the reason for the UMNO Information Office essay or social media posting competititon was “to encourage people to carry out a research into allegations of Kit Siang being a racist, anti-Islam and a dictator”.

This is disgraceful, cheapskate and gutter politics.

Responsible and respectable politicians only make serious allegations against others when they have proofs and evidence, but Annuar Musa does the opposite and belongs to the dishonourable category who hurl allegations at others and then look for evidence to substantiate the allegations.
