Cat out of the bag – UMNO’s quartet of lies on 4Rs, Race, Religion, Rulers and Riots the centerpiece of its strategy on dirtiest general history in its increasingly desperate bid to hold on to federal power in 13GE

The cat is out of the bag – UMNO has a quartet of lies on 4Rs on Race, Religion, Malay Rulers and Riots (May 13 threats) to attack DAP and Pakatan Rakyat as the centrepiece of its strategy for the dirtiest general election in history in its increasingly desperate bid to hold on to federal power in Putrajaya in the 13 General Election.

For the past three years, UMNO propagandists through their owned and controlled mainstream media as well as social media and Internet, have been playing the first 3R cards of Race, Religion and Malay Rulers to defame and demonise DAP as anti- Malay, anti-Islam and anti-Malay Rulers but clearly to little effect in this age of information when these are all lies and falsehoods.

Since our formation 46 years ago in 1966, DAP has committed itself to be a political party for all Malaysians irrespective of race, religion or region.

In the first general election contested by DAP in 1969, we fielded Malay candidates and two Malay candidates were successfully elected as State Assemblymen – one from Perak and the other from Negri Sembilan. We have also Malay Members of Parliament, most notably former CUEPACS President Ahmad Nor who was elected MP for Bayan Baru in Penang.

This is also why DAP achieved the distinction of being the first political party to become a Pan-Malaysian party, having branches and operating politically not only in all the states in Peninsular Malaysia but also in Sabah and Sarawak.

This is why UMNO’s 3R cards against the DAP for being anti-Malay, anti-Islam and anti-Malay Rulers have neither credibility nor traction.

DAP’s support for the system of constitutional monarchy cannot be challenged or doubted for the Common Policy Framework of Pakatan Rakyat clearly and unequivocally committed the three component parties, viz DAP, PKR and PAS to respect, support and uphold the fundamental features of the constitution – including the provisions on Islam as the religion of the Federation of Malaysia and the system of Malay Rulers.

This was also what I stated in Parliament in my first speech in the Dewan Rakyat in February 1971.

Is it because UMNO leaders and propagandists have realised that their 3R cards against the DAP are not achieving the desired political effects that they have come out with the fourth R card of threatening unrest and riots if UMNO and Barisan Nasional lose federal power in the next general election, which is the subtle message of the reference to May 13, 1969 tragedy.

I am still waiting for response from the Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, and the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to my offer at the DAP ceramah at Inaman on Friday night that the Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat co-operate to ensure that there is no repeat of the May 13 tragedy in the next general election.

If Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat sincerely pledge to co-operate to ensure that there would no repeat of May 13 tragedy in the next general election, it is unthinkable that there could be a repeat of May 13.

Why is the silence from Muhyiddin and Najib if they really do not want any repeat of May 13?

At the DAP ceramah at Kota Belud, I proposed the formation of a National Committee with representatives from all political parties, religions and important NGOs with the common objective to ensure that there would be no repeat of May 13. Let us see how Muhyiddin and Najib, as well as UMNO and BN, would respond to this refined proposal to ensure no repetition of May 13.

LKS’s argument (subsequently backed by PR) – that PR would do everything in their capacity to prevent any trouble on the streets after the polls and avoid a repeat of the bloody racial clashes of May 13 1969 regardless whether PR wins or loses- is an intelligent counter response to BN’s propaganda link of May 13 clashes to a PR’s victory (or loss). The trouble is that every sensible and timely response to BN’s propaganda comes from LKS, an Opposition leader of Chinese descent. Why is it that PKR leaders including Anwar and PAS’s leaders are so slow or quiet to respond to BN’s provocation? Just like this point about “UMNO has a quartet of lies on 4Rs on Race, Religion, Malay Rulers and Riots (May 13 threats) to attack DAP and Pakatan Rakyat as the centrepiece of its strategy” Again it comes from LKS that gives the impression that the main driver of Opposition with ideas and verve is from DAP and a leader of Chinese descent a person of Chinese descent which makes the simple minded become easy fodder of BN’s propaganda that opposition is dominated by Chinese based party! Don’t PKR’s or PAS’s top leaders have any contribution to respond to the BN’s propaganda? Or no talent to do it?

In my estimation, BN will not give up power willingly when it loses at the polls. The people (of all races) will react, and BN will then have the opportunity (with help from the press that they control) to play up any untoward incidents as if they are racial in nature when actually they are not. People, please be aware and not be fooled when this happen (and I pray it doesn’t as all will lose out).
Let’s show that we are matured citizens, and not be manipulated by any parties. Remember, our struggle is for a just and forward looking society for all Malaysians and our future generations.

The playing by BN of “3R cards of Race, Religion and Malay Rulers to defame and demonise DAP as anti- Malay, anti-Islam and anti-Malay Rulers” is best rebutted by its other coalition partners (PKR & PAS) and their leaders than just LKS and DAP who are viewed as making a self serving statement for its own party’s cause. The problem with PR is that the consistent credible intellectual response to every propaganda and fallacy of argument from the ruling coalition seems to depend only on resource and one man – the redoubtable LKS, and no one else to share this burden! What is PR to do if he is not there to do it?

///If Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat sincerely pledge to co-operate to ensure that there would no repeat of May 13 tragedy in the next general election, it is unthinkable that there could be a repeat of May 13.///- YB LKS

OK, if (hypothetically) such a pledge is not forthcoming and (touchwood -hypothetically again) if there’s a repeat of May 13, what then, is there a PR’s contingency plans if any?

If May 13 does repeat after GE13, then the fault is on Umno/BN which refuses to co-operate with Pakatan Rakyat. Umno/BN must not then put the blame on Pakatan Rakyat.

Both PM and DPM kept quiet. What is PR going to do about it? Also keep quiet?

The Fifth ‘R’ strategy is ‘Right’ while the Sixth ‘R’ is ‘Repeat’.

UMNO is always ‘Right’ and the Opposition is always ‘Wrong’ and they will continue to Repeat, Repeat, Repeat, Repeat this until some groups become brainwashed.

I think PR (DAP, PR and PAS) should initiate an “Aku Janji” – to ensure no repeat of May 13 and submit memorandum to Tuanku for safekeeping….let’s see what is Umno/BN’s response…if they are sincere and setia kepada Raja Dan Negara (and Rakyat).

UMNO and BN are destined for the sulfur and brimstone in hell after GE 13.

No, I don’t think GOD is going to forgive them. They have committed too may unpardonable sins. And the chickens will come home to roost in GE 13.

Based on TheMalaysian Insider’s report 22nd July under caption “BN says would acept polls loss, fears Pakatan won’t”, UMNO secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor urged PR leaders to stand by their promise not to instigate a repeat of the bloody racial clashes of May 13 1969. This the top PR leaders would be able to do. In the first place it is hard to conceive how PR leaders could instigate such a thing when the power to clamp such intentions and avert it vests with the ruling political coalition, more specifically those at the apex of UMNO. So far only UMNO’s Kota Belud MP Abdul Rahman Dahlan, Pasir Salak MP Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman and Cameron Highlands MP MIC vice-president SK Devamany were reported of have agreed that all parties should respect polls results without instigating disturbances. With respect, they are not however the upper echelons of the ruling party which have not given such explicit assurances. Kota Belud MP Abdul Rahman’s argument that BN had conceded 5 states in last GE has not the traction as it was then under administration of Abdullah Badawi! In this context LKS’s question posed here, “Why is the silence from Muhyiddin and Najib if they really do not want any repeat of May 13?” is relevant.

Why not we let UN know about this threat by this corrupted regime? All of us can let the whole world know the intention by this evil regime.

Don’t know whether I agree with this. I still think the centerpiece of UMNO’s strategy is ‘cheat, buy and lie’..The 4R is only one third of the component and I don’t know if its even the most important because its now ever possible to counter..

In my book, the main stumbling block is still going to be the first component – the one that Najib fear the most in Bersih – cheat. All evidence point to massive fraud – there are plenty of room to commit fraud compared to what has been done in many other dysfunctional states like Pakistan, Zimbabwe, etc that UMNO has not even touched prior to this and very much capable of doing..

Bersih is a major success but by no means victorious..There is simply too many unknown in the electoral rolls. You can’t beat what you can’t measure..

Because Kit is the most experienced, wisest and most intelligent of any politicians in this country.

Read his books, understand his thoughts and you will agree with me that even Anwar cannot measure up to him is making witty and pointed rebuttals to UMNO’s ridiculous and bizarre statements.

Jib & sidekicks and that wannabe moo & his sidekicks have all lost their compasses and rudders. So now they are merely going round and round in circle in the middle of the ocean. If they paddled any harder a whirlpool may well appear to suck them to the bottom of the sea. Actually, I think that is exactly what they are doing. And of course, a whirlpool has formed and they dont seem to realise it!

It is unbecoming of the government to create tension and anxiety among the people through scaremongering.

The more they behave desperate to win…the more Malaysians will know how very selfish they are.
And selfish politicians cannot be sincere.
Besides that ….they keep trying hard to fool Malaysians with all sorts of stunts.
The Police are slow in solving murder cases…but very fast to arrest anyone against the government.
Come to corruptions…the role of MACC is to protect UMNO b and not protecting Malaysians billions stolen.
I read somewhere..around RM280 billions disappeared into thin air from late 70s up to now.
It does not need a rocket scientist to understand why UMNO b is desperate to hold on to power,

“When Malay voters look like they might lose interest in UMNO, you give them a whiff of ‘May 13’ to activate their memories and fears.” said DPM.
UMNO b crooks can say anything…police chief will not act.

  18. #18 by monsterball on Monday, 23 July 2012 - 11:19 am

Malaysians are not afraid or impressed by DPM’s treats and hints.
That’s the classic example how UMNO b tends to win….planting fears into the hearts of Malaysians and keep promoting they are the protector of ONE RACE.
They do not have the majority support of Malaysian Muslims anymore.
The 12th GE has changed the mindsets of Malaysians completely.
The race and religion dirty politics will never work again….no matter how much provocations and insults they keep throwing out.
Why can’t they shut up and have the 13th GE to settle all things??

In a true democracy or using jibby jargon TD, a minister would hv to resign for making totally irresponsible statements like that. In jib’s BD (best democracy) and now LBD (lagi best democracy an upgraded version of BD) ministers can say anything with complete impunity. They can even show the keris and pledge to turn umnoputra into the supreme race in the world.
