Muhyiddin’s speech at UMNO General Assembly “the mother of all lies, falsehoods and racism”

The speech by Deputy Prime Minister and UMNO Deputy President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin at the UMNO General Assembly last night to UMNO Youth, Wanita and Putri wings is the “mother of all lies, falsehoods and racism”.

It qualifies as the worst and most irresponsible speech ever delivered by a Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy UMNO President and I challenge any UMNO leader to cite any speech made by any Deputy Prime Minister and UMNO Deputy President at previous UMNO General Assemblies which is worse, more racist and tell more lies than Muhyiddin’s rants last night.

Muhyhiddin accusations against the DAP as anti-Islam and anti-Malay are false, baseless and pure unadulterated lies.

DAP is a fully patriotic Malaysian party wholly committed to the betterment of all races, whether Malays, Chinese, Indians, Kadazans or Ibans and all religious, whether Islam, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikkhism or Taoism.

What is most despicable are Muhyiddin’s irresponsible, incendiary and seditious allegations, as for instance, that the DAP’s agenda is to form a republic, with the rhetorical question founded on the lie:

“If not, do they dare to suggest the prime minister’s position be selected based solely on elections and without being chosen by the Yang di Pertuan Agong? What is the meaning of this?”

For the record, DAP had never proposed that “the Prime Minister’s position be selected based solely on elections and without being chosen by the Yang di Pertuan Agong”.

What new lie and mischief is the Deputy Prime Minister and UMNO Deputy President up to now and I challenge Muhyiddin to substantiate his dastardly falsehood that the DAP wants to set up a republic.

Right from the beginning, the DAP had declared in Parliament in my first speech 40 years ago in Parliament on Feb. 23, 1971 that DAP fully supported the system of constitutional monarchy and that we “do not and have not questioned the sovereignty of Rulers”.

In making the most irresponsible and racist speech ever made by a Deputy Prime Minister and UMNO Deputy President, Muhyiddin has lived up to his declaration that he is Malay first and Malaysian second – totally at variance with the 1Malaysia transformation programme of the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak in wanting to create a Malaysia where all Malaysians perceive themselves as Malaysians first and their race, religion, region and socio-economic status second.

As it is rightly said, a leopard cannot change its spots.

You know what is really bad? The speech is full of lies and I should be mad BUT instead, the weird thing is, I found it really really BORING and worst, I think the delegates did too..

The issue really is not that we all don’t agree he is lying. The issue really is our nation is so divided we can’t even agree on something as basic as lying in public life is unacceptable.

The challenge therefore is to proof that lying is in the end a bad practise – i.e., only by the collapse of UMNO/BN can that really happen. Its practically medieval to remind our nation and those delagates what they do is no different than what the Nazis and Communists do and not very long later, they collapsed. It so close this year, its eerie..

  2. #2 by Godfather on Wednesday, 30 November 2011 - 12:10 pm

Now, what do we expect the delegates to debate ? The NFC fiasco ? The overpriced APCs and patrol boats ? Or the fact that so many UMNO ministers were conned by Ling on PKFZ ? Or the Auditor-General’s report ?

There must be a theme to deflect attention from all the actual abuses, and what better bogeyman to bring to the centre of attention than DAP ?

  3. #3 by Godfather on Wednesday, 30 November 2011 - 12:13 pm

The good sign is that they are desperate. Really desperate because the debates are now on the abuses, on corruption, through the internet. Even the kampung folks know what is happening with KLIA2 – three to four layers of subcontractors to jack up the price to over RM 4 billion. Who suffers ?

  4. #4 by Godfather on Wednesday, 30 November 2011 - 12:15 pm

So many of my Malay friends are upset with the cow for condos fiasco. They are upset that a chain of restaurants get their beef at a 20 pct discount and still charge full prices in their menus. Will this be debated ? I don’t think so, since the excuse now is “Bukan Gua Bikin”. NFA. Case closed.

When there is nothing left in a party that is bankrupted of ideas the only way to go is to lie and to lie all the way. Looks like a sure sign of its imminent demise.

  6. #6 by Jeffrey on Wednesday, 30 November 2011 - 12:45 pm

On 26th Nov The Star/NST (Mainstream papers) reported what the DPM Muhyiddin Yassin said – that is, Umno leaders and delegates could express their views in safeguarding the interests of Malays openly but must also be mindful of other races. “There is nothing for us to hide as we have to be transparent even though it will touch on Malay interests and their future. But we also must understand that the role of Umno, especially in the Government, is important as we are the main party in the Barisan Nasional…That is why when the delegates voice their views, they must take into account not only the question of safeguarding and protecting the interests of the Malays, but also the interests of the other races.” Now that is for the delegates. Not himself. He is not a delegate. The motto is: Don’t do what I told you not to do but don’t do what I do! Whats wrong with that?

This year they dare not raised the Kris and kiss it.

So they have no choice but pick DAP.

Whiles lies are lies but it is dangerous as when lies are tell thousand times and again and again it become truth.

This is how they will play the game.

Same go for those who pick up the BAr Council march and turn it as its seem Bar Council march was anti government and anti Malay. This was dangerous but it also seem that was the best issue that can be manipulate to turn the ties in their favour.

  8. #8 by Jeffrey on Wednesday, 30 November 2011 - 1:18 pm

I wish to comment a little on the side issue of using as pretext other pro govt groups to protest to stifle and end all anti govt protests. This appears to be a cunning strategy. First they would not say they do not allow a protest march by Bar Council or (say Bersih). To do so will compromise their “democratic” credentials. They say “yes you can march” in accord with constitutional guaranteed freedom of assembly – buttressed by the Peaceful Assembly Act. Belakang, they are happy to encourage, or at least acquiesce with other pro govt groups evincing an intent to engage in a protest march against the first (for convenience, described as anti establishment group. Then they tell you – you can’t silence the pro govt group from protesting- hey they too have democratic right to assembly just like the anti establishment group. However because of the likelihood of breach of peace/security when two groups of opposing agenda march, authorities then have the excuse in the name of public order and security to stop both marches and assemblies. In the end no anti establishment march is possible because there’s always a pro govt group, no matter how small, could be organised to oppose the first group and by this method stop it from marching rendering the right to freedom of assembly nugatory with the blame of undemocratic stoppage being cleverly shifted from the Govt to the pro Govt protestors and with the latter excused on grounds that they too have the right to public demonstrate.

The umno mentality. This we must understand. Then their actions will become clear. See umno is nothing but a pack of lies. The mother of all lies of course is that – using liongsik’s expression – fish head, that forked “W” tongue fish head. They dont mean what they say and they dont say what they mean. Always bluffing. Always deceiving. Always cheating. This is their culture. Their way. As a matter of fact they are very badly influenced by this mentality. So bad that they are now not able to discern reality from falsehood. Truth from lies. When jib screams “reform” it means “restrict” – that sort of thing. So likewise when DAP says “no to republic” umno very naturally read that as “no to agung”. Of course they failed to notice one crucial difference. Umno’s rhetorical lies almost always became bare within a short time. Look at the time span between the declaration (i.e. lie) to abolish the ISA etc and now when the Assembly Act is enacted – very brief indeed. There are many more examples where jib said one thing and does another at split second later. But DAP is different. DAP’s “no to republic” stand has been consistent for as long as I know – decades already, ever since merdeka I believe.

And just one more issue. Muhideen has got one side of his face toasted in the oven. That could be his reason for spewing all sorts of nonsense and lies.

///KUALA LUMPUR: Wanita Umno chief Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil lambasted the opposition, singling out PKR Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin for asking her to resign over the cow and condo issue.

She said Zuraida should ask PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail to resign over the controversies surrounding Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Slightly straying away from her prepared opening speech at the Wanita general assembly, Shahrizat said:

“Just because my husband is the chairman of the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC), she asked me to resign. I have nothing to do with it. I am not guilty, yet she wants me to go.///–The Star Online

It is just because NFC Chairman was the husband of Sharizat, Wanita Chief of UMNO, that he was awarded the NFC project, and this fact cannot be denied. So the NFC was awarded to the husband of Sharizat rather than to Sharizat herself because Ministers are not supposed to be in business. That was just a matter of technicality. Sharizat said that she is not guilty, but her husband might be, because her husband was directly involved.

So it is clear that by being a Wanita Chief of UMNO, the family gained a 250 million Ringgit project from the government. Now the project is a mess according to the Auditor report. It is a disgrace to the party, and so UMNO members should ask Sharizat to resign. As for other Malaysians, we have one more glaring example of corruption and proof that the government uses government funds to enrich people in the party, UMNO. The money is given out to sort out party problems such as to ask some UMNO warlords to step down. It is true that corrupt party officials are bad for the country. But the party concerned should use its own funds to solve such problems. It is corruption to use government funds to settle party problems.

DAP can prove that the accusation is false by restructuring their present leadership…

Let’s take a look at the party’s leadership (http://dapmalaysia.org/newenglish/au_l_n.htm)…out of 31 SENIOR positions., only 2 given to the Malays….. What does it imply?????

If DAP is truly sincere as a multi racial party, they should allocate more seats for their Malay members (based on ethnic composition) and appoint Tunku Aziz and Ahmad Ton to lead the party….DAP can also prove with certainty that Muhiyidin is totally wrong by replacing Penang CM with a Malay candidate….

Otherwise, it is just like a Cakap-cakap kosong….

    What Muhyiddin said to UMNOGA.

///KUALA LUMPUR: Umno is the only solution to the Oppositions’ shortcomings, said Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Umno deputy president said the party’s moderate approach suited the country best and was all that was needed by the people.///–Muhyiddin

If UMNO can be called moderate, we can say that prostitutes are virgins.

///He said as the backbone of Barisan Nasional, Umno has proven its commitment to the rakyat, regardless of race, through the power-sharing concept.///–Muhyiddin

It is the thought of equating the right to govern as obtaining power to be shared by the component parties that makes this country the most corrupted in Asia, if not in the world. People of all races in the country are equal citizens. It is because a certain political party chose to ensure that the people could be bought to vote based on race and religion that it made it strive on racism in the implementation of government policies.

///”The introduction of the New Economic Policy is a testimony to this because, despite the heavy criticism, it remains fact that the spillover of the policy was greatly shared by all races.///–Muhyiddin

That statement alone is proof of racism. Clearly spillovers cannot be the first choice of anybody. Why should that first choice be given to Malays only, and non-Malays had to be contented with spillovers? Clearly non-Malays too would prefer to be the targeted beneficiaries rather than be the group waiting for spillovers. NEP is unfair to non-Malays who could only hope for spillovers, and now the DPM says that non-Malays should not hope for more.

///”We will preserve the political landscape reality of a multi-racial country to ensure stability, peace and harmony.///–Muhyiddin

Muhyiddin shows that he is not happy that this country is multi-racial and he is tolerating it and he was willing to pursue racial polarization to the extent that it borders on the brink of losing stability, peace and harmony. It is never in Muhyiddin’s mind that Malaysians are equal citizens and that together we share the same destiny. Muhyiddin wanted Malays to have a different destiny so long as there is no outright war in the country.

///”We don’t sow the seed of hatred or humiliate other religions. We are not racist like the DAP,” he said when opening the Wanita, Youth and Puteri Umno assemblies here Tuesday night.///–Muhyiddin

It is good to hear the assurance about religious tolerance. But it that true? If DAP is racist, then UMNO certainly cannot be in the same group, because UMNO thinks that non-Malays should be happy only with the spillovers whereas DAP wants Malaysians to have equal rights, and enjoy equal opportunity, to the extent that discriminations should not be institutionalized like UMNO has done. UMNO discriminates with NEP when it promised that it would end after 20 years. But NEP stays on. It will only end with UMNO.

///Muhyiddin lashed out at the Opposition parties, which he said worked overtime to spread lies and did not spare anyone, even Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

“Their intentions are nothing more than to fan the sentiment of hatred among the people towards Umno leadership and to wrest political power,” he said.///–Muhyiddin

Lies end with the person who can think. So lies will be known. But facts do not go away easily.

///Muhyiddin said the DAP’s victory in Penang and its domination of the Selangor Government had apparently given the party license to show its chauvinism.

“They never respect the Malay rulers’ institution, and humiliate the security forces and government officers, the majority of whom are Malays,” he said.///–Muhyiddin

This is fanning racial hatred against the opposition parties. He should list out instances to substantiate the charges.

///Muhyiddin said the DAP was actively getting more Malays to join them and enticed them with promises of the Mentris Besar or state exco posts.

“The Malays should not fall into the trap because their real intention is to just to use them (the Malays) for their own benefit. ///–Muhyiddin

Muhyiddin would one day claim that DAP does not have Malay leaders and at another time blame the Malays who join DAP as falling in DAP trap. Why should not Malays who do not belong to UMNOputras clan find another route to serve the country? How can DAP be accused of being racist when it is willing to offer positions to Malays to serve in making this country a better place for the citizens. Should Malays who happened to gain under NEP forever serve UMNOputras?

///”Malays who collaborate with the DAP are traitors,” he said.///–Muhyiddin

I hope Malay DAP members would sue Muhyiddin.

///Muhyiddin said PKR, which labelled itself as an ultra-liberal party with no moral basis in its struggle, had no agenda for the Malays and Islam.

“Otherwise, how could a person who is facing a serious credibility crisis be appointed to lead the party undemocratically.///–Muhyiddin

We do wonder whether UMNO leaders had been democratically elected ever since the UMNOBahru took over as if it was the original UMNO.

///”As for PAS, they are now becoming a yes man to the DAP because although the DAP leaders read several versus of the Al-Quran incorrectly, PAS still defended them.///– Muhyiddin

So the anger against PAS was because they did not take it upon its duties to correct mistakes quoting Quran. Can Muhyiddin do better than citing this lame excuse?

///”When PAS talks about the Islamic state, DAP leaders would be the first to criticise them and they just keep quiet,” he said.///– Muhyiddin

Civilized people only air their views. They do not fight on the streets.

///On the upcoming general election, Muhyiddin said Umno members must give their full support and confidence to the leadership in selecting their candidates.

He said they should accept the decision of the leadership and help the candidates to win the election.///–Muhyiddin

It shows how desperate UMNO is in trying to get Malays to vote for UMNO after having done all the wrongs which UMNO considers Malays should be grateful to them. But Malays who are true believer of the religion cannot agree with UMNO policies which are against the teachings of Islam.

Malays who worked hard to be where they are cannot live with the stigma that it was NEP which saved them. Malays also do not think that people outside the ethnic group should gain advantage over their indignity as the ethnic group which demands assistance ever since Independence. Penang Malays are unhappy with Mamaks giving bad name to the party.

Those who wanted status quo are some government servants who are convinced that they are not employable outside of government services. Other government servants would want UMNO to stay so that they could enrich themselves such as in the purchase of the telescope which is an obvious corruption issue but they got away with impunity.

UMNO is being supported by racists and people who want the corrupt practices to continue. Only when UMNO is thrown out of government can the country hope to progress.

How he ended up with his head in the oven and consequently, with a permanent toasted cheek is a great testimony of his mental capacity.

And also, he obviously does not realise the potency of the elite umnoputras – led by none other than dr mamak. You see dr mamak is a friend and foe rolled into one. What could be worse than that? He is a frenemy and very dangerous. Good luck muhideen for aligning yourself up with a frenemy. He will heat up the PM seat for you, I am sure, if you ever get there. And who couldnt see that dr mamak has ulterior aim of his own? So careful there you fool.

Besides, umno has turned the country into a real mess in all aspects. Just have a look at the yearly Auditor General’s report for details. I shant waste byte space here recounting them. Indications are, things will get messier in 2012 when the eurozone sinks into a second recession (now very much an inescapable reality), china’s growth slows down (india’s too) (already happening) and the struggling US could not turn its heavily debt laden economy around (this is quite apparent). Meanwhile umno twiddles on either completely oblivious or totally hoping that we the people would swallow their false assurances.

It is time for change. If anything, it will be for “a change of fortune”, as the cantonese say. Change will bring hope to everyone. Bring umno down in GE13.
