KUALA LUMPUR, June 22 — The Home Ministry will flex its muscles ahead of the Bersih rally next month, announcing today that organisers of all three assemblies will be hauled up by Bukit Aman today.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein also confirmed today that the three — Bersih 2.0, Umno Youth and Perkasa — would not be granted permits for their planned gatherings on July 9.

“My statement today is that all three parties will not be granted permits to gather on that date. I am saying that categorically, all three of them will not get it.

“Secondly, I have already stated that immediate action must be taken on this matter and PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police) will call all parties involved because although we have said that we are not going to grant them permits, the statements from Perkasa, Umno Youth or Bersih, indicate that they plan to proceed,” he told reporters after attending a meeting in Parliament today.

The rally this July 9 is the brainchild of election watchdog Bersih, who plans to gather hundreds of thousands in a march to push for free and fair elections.

Perkasa has also launched its counter-protest and promised to join the July 9 march with at least 20 buses from each of the 10 peninsular Malaysian states, in addition to supporters from 164 other non-governmental organisations.

Despite acknowledging the government’s refusal to legalise the rallies, Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin has vowed to defy his predecessor in the wing, saying it is every Malaysian’s democratic right to assemble publicly.

Sekarang 9 haribulan Julai bukan berkenaan penganjurnya lagi.

As expected, Perkasa and UMNO Youth giving them the excuse to stop all three. In the guise of doing their job, they abuse them, what is new for BN? Its no different than the billions they steals in doing their job, for removing subsidies but not touch the IPP and toll-road operators, charging Anwar with sodomy, no justice for TBH, Sarbani, Aminulrasyid, Kugan, Khir Toyo getting away scott free, no one being punished for PKFZ, etc. etc..

Old trick of doing the job wrongly is better than not doing their job. Doing the job wrongly IS NOT doing their job.

    What else is new?

One more thing: The real danger is the pathetic action of Hishamuddin and everyone on BN side trying to stop this. They are still using SOP when EVEN they know its useless. They already know Bersih 2.0 is too big to stop but they are keeping their hand in the sand and ploughing on with the old and failing ways. They could arrest hundreds of people before July 9 and it still will go on..

The danger is not Bersih but rather the authorities and their agents will do something completely stupid.

    Kerismuddin, stop brandishing your keris!

The moment the police haul Ambiga to kamunting under the ISA,
1)you will get the whole world condemning Malaysia.
    2) Investment competitiveness will drop to rock bottom. Stock market will collapse.
    3) 1 million more will join the Jul 9 march.
    4) Malaysia will have its own Tahrir square.
    5) BN will fall.

Now, how much more stupid can the Home Minister get?

What Hisham is saying about Bukit Aman hauling up the organisers of Bersih,Umno youth And Perkasa is widely expected and is old news. The GOM has to come up with some sort of excuse to stop the Bersih rally.Whether the rally proceeds as plan is not relevant anymore. The GOM sitting on their hands doing nothing while Abrahim Ali went on with his rampage and gerrymandering has cause severe damage to their credibility. The ghost of Ibrahim Ali will be UMNO and BN’s biggest nightmare this coming election.
