Utusan Malaysia a daily reminder of the hollowness and hypocrisy of Najib’s 1Malaysia concept

Utusan Malaysia is a daily reminder of the hollowness and hypocrisy of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s 1Malaysia concept as the Umno newspaper continues to peddle lies and poison to incite strife and hatred in Malaysia’s plural society.

Najib’s 1Malaysia talks about embracing “our diversity of ethnicity, religions and beliefs and, by being inclusive, build mutual respect and acceptance into a solid foundation of trust and cohesiveness” but Utusan Malaysia is doing the very opposite every day with its staple of lies and falsehoods.

The 1Malaysia Government Transformation Programme Roadmap released in January last year advocated the promotion of “an all-inclusive 1Malaysia media” and warned of the danger of greater national divisions and disunity when “some writers abuse the greater freedom of expression now available to use terms and feelings that are racist or inflammatory in nature and tone”.

It said:

“While censorship is antithetical to democracy, there is a need to introduce, instill and internalize a commitment to journalistic professionalism, a sense of responsibility and self-restraint, with sensitivity to the divergent views and feelings of the diverse communities in Malaysia.”

Unfortunately, this “commitment to journalistic professionalism, a sense of responsibility and self-restraint, with sensitivity to the divergent views and feelings of the diverse communities in Malaysia” is completely absent in Utusan Malaysia, which have become even more irresponsible and unprofessional in the past year, peddling lies, falsehoods and poison to incite strife and hatred in our plural society.

A good example is the irresponsible editorial by Awang Selamat in Mingguan Malaysia yesterday repeating the lie that the DAP wants to abolish the Malay sultanate system to create a republic.

DAP had, whether on its own or as part of Pakatan Rakyat, or previously Barisan Alternative in 1999 and Gagasan Rakyat in 1990 policy pronouncements declared and reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the fundamental features of the Malaysian Constitution including the system of constitutional monarchy.

Utusan Malaysia is guilty of the height of journalistic irresponsibility and total lack of professionalism in peddling the lie and poison that DAP wants to abolish the system of Malay rulers to establish a republic. Even worse, Utusan Malaysia will be guilty of the worst crime of treason to the nation and people of Malaysia in trying to incite disunity, strife and hatred in our plural society.

Najib, Umno and Barisan Nasional leaders cannot continue to be indifferent to Utusan Malaysia’s open incitement of hatred and strife in our plural society, not only because it makes a total mockery of Najib’s 1Malaysia concept, but even more important, in undermining and destroying all efforts to create a united, cohesive, just, prosperous and competitive Malaysia that can take its rightful place in the global community.

many have open their eyes to see the differences, though most are just an observer. it is good for bn utusan to do so. the more they do, the better. let them stir the hornet’s nest. they never realize the rakyat are beginning to see a clearer picture of their wrong doings. soon, more people will be awakened! soon more malaysians will be united.

Read the articles by Awang Selamat and by Ridhuan Tee (the Malay wannabe) and you will soon realise that they have a warped idea of what Bolehland should be like – a one-man, one-vote system translated into pro-rata sharing of EVERYTHING based on goodies. They must have 70 pct of everything. When you point out that they have 90 pct of something, they would say that it is to correct the imbalance of the past. Every excuse is about correcting the imbalance of the past – education, health, banking and finance, utilities, etc etc.

That, in a nutshell, is the real meaning of 1Malaysia in the eyes of Utusan. What is yours is mine, and what is mine is mine.

Conversely, the pro-rata sharing concept based on race even gets extended to celebrations. Ridhuan Tee even had the nerve to suggest that celebrations by minority races be muted based on their proportion of the population. Maybe the idiot thinks that celebrations are calibrated by decibels – so if Muslims celebrate with 70 decibels, Christians should celebrate with only 10 decibels.

Whisper, folks, just whisper. Get rid of these clowns once and for all. There’s no difference between these clowns in parliament, and the monkeys in the zoo negara.

1Malaysia is nothing more than a multi-million ringgit re-branding exercise by Najib. So far the reputation of the 1Malaysia brand has gone down the drain, together with millions of the rakyat’s hard-earned money to the benefit of foreign consultants and UMNO cronies selling 1Malaysia paraphernalia. In other words, 1Malaysia is a rotten brand because UMNO continues to be corrupted and racist. Nothing has changed for the better, in fact the economy is stagnant, education standard is bad, corruption and crime is rife, we have an incompetent government and ministers, the police force and judiciary are in shambles. We can only pray and hope that UMNO/BN will be kicked out soon.

Ah Tee Kia, look, I think you are psycho pervert suffering for identity crisis. You know exactly who you are but you have too much hatred for being that person. So, you wanted to be a new person, but you can’t also. Others will never accept you. It is like a person born with two sex organs; you do not know which one to choose. You hate yourself, but to give up one is to hate the one that is still with you. It is dangerous, you need to be careful. Try talking to a psychotherapist. I am being helpful.

Najib merely wants to fish non-Malay votes through the 1Malaysia slogan.

Najib said during the UMNO GA that the person whose ethnic classification was not clear was Malay. So Ridhuan Tee thinks that by that remark, he is more Malay than maybe mamakthir. Has he become UMNO member?

That 1Malaysia would fail is a given. What is more important is Najib’s entire agenda at the moment. His plan basically is to win big enough in the next GE so that he can make hard changes such as removing subsidies to pay for his spending program.

Its clear that BN-PR is going into a very bruising period of fighting. Things are going to get out of hand, tempers flare and accusations thrown. In view of that, there is no way Najib can win big enough to make the changes he need. In other words, his failure and fall is already eventual.

The issue is how quick to make his failure and fall. That is the real issue. The truth is he does not have what it takes to even execute his plans. The blow up over Christmas at St John’s is not aberation – its symptomatic of how he runs things – his plans get messy because what he does is basically devious machining that just gets out of control naturally. Its no way to run anything and it will always fall apart – just like 1Malaysia – its too complicated and too hypcritical. It was doomed from the start.

So, the real way to get Najib’s plan to fall apart is to force him to complicate his plans even more. The more devious he becomes, the quicker he will fall apart because he is just not good enough to go very far..
