Mat Sabu’s return to Parliament – DAP to give full support

The news of the sudden death of Deputy Education Minister Datuk Razali Ismail just now is most shocking and I would like to convey to his family my deepest condolences for the loss of a sober-minded and even-handed Malaysian.

Razali had always impressed me with his rationality as he is a rare Umno MP who is not only well-read and very passionate about education and life-long learning but would have no truck with ultra sentiments and unparliamentary antics and outbursts.

There is going to be a major by-election with the vacancy arising from the death of Razali.

DAP will go all out to work for Mat Sabu’s return to Parliament, as the PAS National Vice President lost narrowly to Razali in the 2008 general election in the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary constituency by a razor-edge 628 votes.

Razali secured 32,562 votes, Sabu 31,934 votes while independent candidate Maimun Yusuf polled 685 votes.

independent candidate Maimun Yusuf polled 685 votes — this shows that 3-corner contests must never be allowed to happen again.

A very fitting present to Pak Lah who is being sacked on March 2009— the loss of the Kuala Trengganu Parliamentary seat. He will be lost for words

Every death is a sad event…to the love ones.
I don’t know..who that UMNO man was…..but all the same…..my sympathy to the love ones. May he rest in peace.
That brings us to the opportunity for another show down…to find out….how voters think.
Even if PAS lost…it is actually not so important…but if UMNO looses….then signs are getting clearer and clearer….voters want..change of government.

Yes we must all work extra hard to elect a Pakatan MP to take over the KT constituency. This is to “thank” AAB for his reign and to comemorate his sacking as PM. It is also to “welcome” Najis & to comemorate his misrule cum corrupt life.

Do keep in mind that Terengganu is the state of mother of all phantom voters. This is also the state where it constitutes more than 51% phantom voters of Bolehland(according to my survey la) bcoz of its oil. Frankly speaking, i dont have much confidence in this by-election unless Pakatan Rakyat can really do something to convince the voters there.

    Dear Tonberry,

Then please do explain why for example PKR can form a govt in Selangor if phantom voters are so widespread.

As for Mat Sabu, he is known for fiery speech peppered with unspeakable venom against UMNO politicians. Do remember he challenged Dr Mahathir to sack Anwar on homosexuality charge long before Dr Mahather just did that.

  12. #12 by cintanegara on Saturday, 29 November 2008 - 11:16 pm

Why Mat Sabu? Why not DAP itself? DAP claim Malaysian electorate had rejected racial politics and this is a good ground for DAP to prove that.

Otherwise, accept the fact and admit what Negarawan Ulung, Dr M had emphasized earlier that Malaysian politics have not been decoupled from racial sentiments and loyalties.

    Dear shamsul Anuar,
The extraordinary March08 GE was beyond everyone’s expectations, including you, your Umnoputra masters, PKR, PAS, MCA, Hindraf, businessmen, stockmarket punters, President Bush, your relatives& neighbours, my relatives & neighbours and me.

Can you explain in 1999, during Umno’s defeat to PAS in Terengganu, the voters turnout in every polling district was an average 70%, but in 2004 and 2008, the rate was as high as 85% in almost every district. In 2004, the average turnout rate was 90%. If you do not have the data, get it from Badan Perhubungan Umno Negeri Terengganu. Still if you cant get it, search from here:-
    http://thestar.com.my/election/results/04/04s.html

The whole Bolehland, only Terengganu, has the highest voters turnout rate, particularly after 1999.

I argue with facts & figures and i dont make up stories like cintanegara(former names – RealWorld, Kasim Amat bla bla [until i lost count how many handles he used])

“As for Mat Sabu, he is known for fiery speech peppered with unspeakable venom against UMNO politicians.” – Shamsul Anuar

That should be good for PR as long as the invective is within the bounds of Parliamentary conduct.
It’s no use pussyfooting about with UMNO/BN.
The nincompoops in that party deserve every bit of it!

What about the other part that shamshul anuar said in his posting yesterday at 23: 09.45 – “Do remember he challenged Dr Mahathir to sack Anwar on homosexuality charge long before Dr Mahather just did”?

PAS’ Mohamad Sabu in an interview in 1998, cited that Anwar would be much worse than Dr Mahathir if he had became Prime Minister.

    Has Mat Sabu recanted?

Otherwise what is the basis DAP is supporting him just because he lost narrowly to Razali Ismail or he’s likely PAS nominated candidate for by election?

Shamshul Anuar…..UMNO is not stupid to plant phantom voters everywhere. It is always areas where the chances are 50/50 and plant some phantom voters…to win.
If you are crook…will you rob at an area with so many voluntary workers watching you?
Once awhile…someone…..especially a Malaysian Chinese may guarantee UMNO …a win in Bukit Bintang….provided…loads of money is available to bribe the voters. Such are the MCA..MIC…Gerakan..stool pigeons of UMNO.
Phantom voters have been proven…existing…all favoring UMNO..in so many elections.
It is in the 12th elections..the small amount of phantom voters ..planted everywhere…expected to swing the votes again for UMNO did not works so well….as their own UMNO members ….largely…voted against them.. in every constituency.

“Shamshul Anuar…..UMNO is not stupid to plant phantom voters everywhere.”

Monsterball, you are wrong. UMNO is soooo stupid that they can do anything even in broad daylight. Ask Samshul about the Eurocopter deal, the Scorpene deal, the PKFTZ deal. If they can steal in broad daylight, what’s to stop them from padding the ballot boxes ? Even when they are caught, they still say “so what?” to your face. Ask Samshul.

At a by-election,the odds against the opposition is extremely high cos the whole lot of phantom voters at their disposal plus whatever in their war-chest will be thrown into just one single constituency unlike that of the general election whereby 222 constituencies are competing for such goodies by the various BN contestants.Khalid’s case is a typical example. In a by-election he lost but in the !2th GE he won both state plus federal!

Phantom or no phantom, let’s go all out to ensure PR/Mat Sabu’s victory. Mat Sabu is for all Malaysian; Malay, Chinese, Indian, Orang Asli, Kadazan, Dayak, etc., etc..

Mat Sabu is for : No corruption, No wastage of tax payers’ money, No arrogance.

  24. #24 by shamshul anuar on Sunday, 30 November 2008 - 10:57 pm

    Dear Jeffrey,

This is what Mohd Sabu said on Anwar , way back in 1998 before Dr Mahathir sacked him . He chided Anwar by saying “Anwar Al JUburi, Inikah orang yang akan memertabatkan bangsa Melayu”.

Please ask your PAS friend on his tape. I tried this on several of my PAS friends. This question never fail to result in them turning red faced.

I have no respect to a party that uses religion to gain support but turn back on the principle when it does not favour PAS . No PAS friends of mine is able to answer me why they support Anwar when they had previously challenging Dr Mahathir to sack him . Surely , they can recall this. Mohd Sabu, who earn a living by cursing UMNO, said that on his ceramah.

So did Karpal Singh. He also challenged DR Mahathir to sack Anwar on this charge.

  25. #25 by shamshul anuar on Sunday, 30 November 2008 - 11:01 pm

    DEar Tonberry,

I am surprise you did not get my message. Just because a political party lost in the election does not mean that there are phantom voters.

If there are phantom voters( as per what you said , planted by UMNO), then Selangor would not fell to PKR. THe main issue in Selangor is Hindraf lying about demolition of a temple( another surau demolished was not told).

Now if you care to go to the ground, you will know how Malays regret choosing PKR.
