The 916 obsession – 54 BN MPs have Anwar to thank for the last-minute free junket to Taiwan

The last-minute free junket to Taiwan for 54 MPs is shaping up to be the greatest political farce in the nation’s 51-year history – all because of the “916 obsession” of the Umno/Barisan Nasional leadership.

UMNO/Barisan Nasional leaders have put up a bold public front dismissing the possibility of any change of government come Sept. 16, dismissing the “916” speculation as political gimmick and “day-dream”, although in their heart of hearts, it has become a “living nightmare” to the Umno/BN leadership.

This is because Umno/BN leadership are acutely and painfully aware that six months after the March 8 general election, more and more BN MPs are convinced that the Prime Minister and the Barisan Nasional leadership have completely lost their way as illustrated by the latest Ahmad Ismail furore and have neither the vision nor political will to relate and become relevant to the revolution of new hopes and expectations of post-political tsunami Malaysia.

As compared to six months ago, there are even fewer BN MPs who are prepared to defend the policies and programmes of the Prime Minister and the BN leadership, as they have lost all hope and confidence in the their ability to manage a major turnaround of political support of the people.

Although they are still BN MPs in name, they have lost allegiance to BN.

This is the real reason why there is a quiet desperation and panic about the “916” speculation among the top Umno/BN leadership and the reason for the last-minute decision to organise a junket dragooning BN MPs to Taiwan to foil Anwar’s “916” plan.

That the credibility gap of BN leaders has plumbed new depths can be gauged from the fact that nobody believes a single thing which BN leaders, whether the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, the Chairman or Deputy Chairman of the Barisan Nasional Backbenchers Club (BBC) is saying about the last-minute junket for the 54 BN MPs – when they are treated like modern-day bond-slaves, losing all personal liberty and freedom until Sept. 16 is “safely” over and past!

For instance, the BBC Deputy Chairman Datuk Bung Mohtar Radin (Kinabatangan) told the Star today that the “overseas study trip” was planned three months ago but Taiwan was chosen two days ago “as Taiwan confirmed it was able to conduct our study tour”.

The BBC Chairman Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing had a different story, as he had said that “Initially, we wanted to go to China but as we did not have enough time to process our visas, we decided on Taiwan instead.”

Clearly, what Tiong, Radin and even Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Datuk Seri Najib Razak have said about the last-minute BN MPs junket to Taiwan are just “lies, lies and lies” not to be believed at all.

The simple truth is that the 54 BN MPs have Anwar to thank for the last-minute free junket to Taiwan – all because of the “916” obsession and fear of the Umno/BN leaders.

I understand that the UMNO and BN leadership only have confidence in the allegiance of some 60 per cent of the 76 BN backbenchers – which leaves the possible action of the rest of the 40 per cent or over 30 BN MPs to anybody’s guess.

Lately, with talk of individual BN MPs leaving BN expanding to entire component parties like Gerakan and even MCA leaving the coalition because of recrudescence of cronyism, corruption, extremism and racism, the uncertainty and instability of Barisan Nasional’s hold on federal power will become even more acute after “916” and the return of the BN junketeers from Taiwan.

    1) Hopefully, these 50 cuckoos who flew their nest will not be available for Pakatan to persuade them to fly over.

    2) Hopefully, these 50 cheapskates will be satisfied with this all-expense paid junket and blatant misuse of public funds poorly disguised as a study trip. ///

As I said in the other post (make that 54 birds now), this trip has the potential to trip up those who did not go. One outcome of this sudden free junket to the land of immigrants and pendatangs is that the PM will know who are the ones who chose not to go. Whatever plausible reasons that may be given for the no-show, the absentees will have a huge question mark over their heads. Are these absentees potential grasshoppers, frogs or kangaroos? Will those who did not go on the trip without good reasons be unceremoniously dropped after a decent interval?

    Uncle Lim,

U are wrong-lah. PM already said he is not worried about 16 Sept so there should be no connection.

He also said the Parliament is not to be dissolved and he is not about to re-marry.

Anyway, I am seriously worried with Kementerian Pertanian’s resource issue. Despite many unemployed graduates, and during time of floods, they have to borrow 50 wakil rakyats to study plants and planting in the agriculture centre of the world, Taiwan.

I wonder how are they going to divide up. 1 MP study banana, another study beetle nut, another to study penternakan babi (I heard they have it in Taiwan too!), another to study their sawah padi, another study Pinang See Shi (wink wink those who in the know)….

How are they going to compile the notes? By the way, are all the WR qualified in agriculture studies? Anybody from Universiti Pertanian?

When they come back, what new plants can we expect? Rice? Banana? Chen Sui Bien Fruit? Teresa Teng Nuts? I am so excited to see new vegetables and fruits in our wet markets.

Did they say when they can harvest the new fruits?

Please ask AAB and NR to swear (like what NR did previously) on the holy book that this Taiwan escapade of BN MPs has nothing to do with 916.

Since when did Malaysia begin to appreciate the education system and agriculture of Taiwan? Are Taiwan university degrees recognised by PSD? Are graduates from Taiwan universities employed by PSD?

Trapping Guide For Malaysian MPs On Study Tour In Taiwan
    =============================================
BN has exiled about 50 MPs on a study tour of Taiwan to learn about agriculture and high tech production techniques. This guide outline how KPR can trap these MPs while in Taiwan.. There is no reason why the Study Tour cannot be hijacked for a more noble cause.

    1. Obtain the itinerary.
    (a) Get a copy from a friendly MP. Do it discretely or you will put him/her in trouble, or
    (b) Get a copy from a friendly reporter or
    (c) Get a copy from Malaysia Friendship and Trade Center. (This is diplomatic speak for Malaysian Embassy in Taiwan) or
    (d) Call the travel agents in Taipeh, Kaohsiung, and Taishiung

    2. Recruit the staffs of the hotels where the YBs are staying. Get them to report on their activities.

    3. Detain a few YBs accidentally to find out who are the minders. Use the toilet door cannot be opened or cab driver lost his direction trick.

    4. Find out the transport companies providing the buses to move the YBs. Replace the bus drivers and attendants with your agents. Have some experts present. No reason why the YBs cannot learn something useful while traveling. Sprinkle some macho handsome young men and some tall, slim buxomy young women among the attendants. There male and female BN YBs. I am sure there will some interesting tete-a-tete with the YBs. Get the YBs engaged. Teach them the jumping steps.

Play subliminal messages on you know what, on the Bus PA systems. The YBs
will be well conditioned when they arrive home. Hey, it worked in James Bond
    MoonRaker movie.

    5. Some of the YBs have their golf sets. Stake out th 19th hole at the courses they will be playing. I am sure you will get some good recording. Make sure it is better than Chua Soi Lek’s VCD quality.

    6. Some of the YB’s will be tired after the daily activities. They will go for a good massage. Insert your own masseuse into the joint. A relaxed YB will be at your mercy. Hey, this scene worked in James Bond movie.

    7. Get yourself invited to the Malaysia Friendship and Trade Center reception for the YBs. There is sure to be one as the YBs are important people. Wisma Putra will not dare to skip this.

Play the role of an important agriculturist in Taiwan. Insist the YBs visit your latest state of the art, fully computerized, self powering, green “farm” and “factory”. Tell them any sh*#%t you want. They do not know anything different.

Rent a farm and factory. Manned them with macho handsome young men and some tall, slim buxomy young women. The YBs wont know what hit them.
Teach them the tarian lompat. Heck, you can keep them in the farm until they ready to go home.

Turn those who cannot do the tarian lompat into manure.

The Taiwanese government better watch out. Half a century ago, the communist hijacked the island and set up an exiled nationalist government (ROC) in Taiwan. It brought so much hardships to the local people under the dictatorship of Chiang Kai Shek, much like the BN government where there was also no freedom. Did Abdullah send these MPs to Taiwan in order to hijack Taiwan in setting up an exiled Malaysian government there? It is kind of a joke, but what else can I think of about the purpose of this trip?

  16. #16 by cheng on on Tuesday, 9 September 2008 - 2:19 pm

Sorry, Pulau_sibu, the communist did not set up an exiled nationalist govt in Taiwan, it was Kuomintang, it was in 1949

  17. #17 by chinymin on Tuesday, 9 September 2008 - 2:26 pm

All MPs to Taiwan better be serious about the study tour. You are required to sumit detailed reports on what you have learned just like any other study tour. Then Government will implement the new technologies as appropriate to improve yields and productivity.
    We look forward to that.

    Questions:

    1. Why is this education cum visit trip such a rush that they don’t have enough time to process visas to go to China? I’ve applied for a visa to visit China before, it only took me a few days, and I’m an ordinary citizen/immigrant/pendatang. MPs would normally get special treatment, hence even faster. What is so urgent that the trip cannot be postponed for a few days? Because 916 is too close for comfort?

    2. If their initial plan was to go to China, and only at the last minute that they did not have enough time to apply for the visa, how did Taiwan manage to organise an entire education cum visit programme within a matter of a few DAYS to accommodate more than 50 MPs within a matter of days? It would have taken them weeks!… if it was really a study cum visit trip…

    3. If it’s just a study trip on high-tech agricultural production, why do they need 54 MPs to attend? Shouldn’t it be only a team from the Ministry of Agriculture attending to such a course? And shouldn’t it be a team that is sufficiently well-versed with agriculture techniques that attend, and not any tom dick and harry, for example someone from the Ministry of Transport? Why 54 MPs, why?

Why why tell me why? Wait, I think I know the answer…

Whatever they may say, it will not wipe out the impression in people’s mind of them “running away” – perhaps with their tails stiff and straight in great anxiety, panic and fear.

Going on a study trip to Taiwan is not a perfect solution to pre-empt “916” BN MP defection. Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing could have applied to the Taiwan authorities for political asylum or refugee status for the 54 BN MPs, so that they need not come back to Malaysia!

A highly commendable government expenditure on this distinguished agricultural study group applying itself to find out which hens lay eggs and whether 60 per cent of the 76 hens would lay by 9/16– which leaves the possible action of the rest of the 40 per cent or over 30 hens undecided because if they fall over their bluff it would really be their down fall.

However, I beleive the rakyat is also disappointed with the insensitivity of this b_m “Batok TKS”, the so called chairman of the “A_rsebenchers Club” who organised this “study trip”. I find it highly offensive that this b_m has not taken into account that it is the month of Ramadan and most of our Umno Muslim members of parliament are supposed to be fasting. This is an appropriate time for them to contemplate and reflect on their deeds, not go gallivanting overseas.
I do not know whether this b_m realises that Sept 16 is Malaysia Day, when Sabah and Sarawak joined the Federation. Is this a valid reason for b_m like you to be with your fellow rakyat in East Malaysia to commemorate this event instead of being a tour leader in Taiwan?
From your actions, it seems that you subscribe to the BN notion that Malaysia Day is not important at all. If that is the case, please move to West Malaysia. East Malaysia rakyat do not want a stupid idiotic apportunistic b_m like you.

  34. #34 by gofortruth on Tuesday, 9 September 2008 - 3:58 pm

A correctly minded government would have opted for sending ministers and professional personnels from our Agricultural ministry to go for such study in batches and during different times of the year. They can assimilate far better than MPs and can quickly put to use what they have learned and yield positive results for our country. Furthermore these personnels are of more permanent nature as compare to MPs, MPs may lose the next election or there may be a change of government altogether.

So blindly sending MPs for such study is like “playing music to cows” and you DON’T send 54 MPs to study the same thing!!!!!What a waste of money!

I’m so SHOCKED to see Barisan National can actually behave so childishly and they have been ruling the country for half a century. This is the legacy of TDM. He planted the tree for 22 years and today we are seeing the quality of the fruits.

With so many attention gripping happenings occurring in the country at this very moment, one needs to multi-task to keep tab of every single one. The happenings are all headline grabbing material and are keeping the citizens at the edge of their seats.

Perhaps one needs to make a list of the happenings according to priority, impact, chronological order, subject matter ( political, economic, trade, social, legal, parliamentary, religious, human rights, environmental, personality, etc. ) and location.

The faint hearted really have to watch out for their heart, mind and soul; while the uninitiated would probably find it difficult to keep track of all of them to see their relevance and impact to the country and people.

Important history is in the making in Malaysia. This is indeed an evolutionary, revolutionary, and watershed moment which would transform the country. A new Malaysia is emerging out of the “confusion”, and it may take some time for it to take shape.

The academia, society watchers and researches, analysts of Malaysia, top-notch journalists and writers would do well to follow the events which are unfolding and impacting on a plural society which had been the melting pot of a diverse community brought together by historical events and forces.

It would do well for starters to read up on Malaysia’s historical background in order to be able to make sense of the happenings.

    Good luck.

It’s wonderful/dreadful what a pyschological date can do to those instilled with fears and insecurities.
one of it was May13, it was broken on 308 and now 916.
then it would be 1010, 2020 …. just hilarious.

A lot of people are commenting that Anwar can still take over the government after the MPs return from their trip. Perhaps most of us have forgotten that KJ challenge Anwar to retire from politics if 916 didn’t materialize or something to the effect. However I’m not sure if Anwar accepted his challenge or not.

So the change must be on 916 for Anwar to retain his credibility. Later than that then BN would have scored a moral victory. Just like in PP, if Anwar have won with 12,000 majority then BN would have scored a moral victory. Thank God, Anwar’s majority in PP is 15,000++.

There are 1440 minutes in one day. Even if Anwar shout “Saya Berjaya” at 11:59 PM 16 Sept 2008, he still have keep his word.

Anwar Ibrahim has declared that he has enough lawmakers in the bag to cross over to the opposition Pakatan Rakyat coalition to form the new govenrment. He’d better get his numbers right otherwise he may just end up as the “clown prince” of Malaysian politics.

The maths is simple indeed. The King appoints whom he is confident has the majority support of the lawmakers in the lower house of parliament.

Currently, there are 222 Members of Parliament of which the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition holds a solid block of 140 seats and the remaining 82 go to the opposition. Thus although the BN has lost its two-thirds majority control of the lower house, it still has a comfortable majority of 28 MPs.

For the PR coalition led by Anwar to take over the reins of power, it must entice at least 30 to cross over to their bench. But that is not a good figure as at any time any of one them decides to crossover again (a double-cross in this case) it would result in a hung parliament. And Anwar can kiss goodbye to his ambition to be the new PM.

So he needs a good 40 or even 50 to crossover before the Agung can be sure that he has the confidence of the house to be PM.

Anwar has been saying with a straight face that he has the 30 required and his supporters say 40 would not be a problem. And 50 would not be impossible.

So where is he going to get his numbers? Sabah and Sarawak no doubt. But he still can’t be the PM. This is because if he relies mainly on the East Malaysia lawmakers to cross over, his new governent would then be a bumiputra majority one but not a Malay dominated one.

So for him to get his numbers right, he must go back and fish in the Umno pond. That’s a tough one. But maybe not so given the endless possibilities in permutations under the current circumstances. Who in Umno will cross over to Anwar’s side? Well, all those whose career paths have been stalemated of checkmated are potential candidates.

Besides the junket of the BNBBC, Bodowi (or should I call him Pandaiwi) decided to sent the Agung away, as reported by MT:
“So now they are also planning to send the Agong to Saudi Arabia to perform his Umrah. With the Agong out of the way, Anwar will not be able to present these letters to His Majesty”.
    Can anyone verify this?

Did it occur to anyone that perhaps a number of MPs went to Taiwan already knowing that they WOULD cross over. And since they had already made up their minds, why not take a paid vacation, armed with cameras and microphones to document every thing that happens in Taiwan. What would they have to document? You never know when someone, somewhere, somehow migth just let slip some information or maybe just to document what a waste of money the trip was.

Penang Gerakan Youth Chief Huan Cheng Guan has quit as Penang Barisan Nasional Youth chief with immediate effect.

Huan, 47, who is also Barisan Nasional Backbenchers Club (BBC) executive secretary, is currently in Taiwan, accompanying 41 other MPs on a week-long study trip.

Alamak, 47 years old and still a youth. Betul ke?

Long overdue to quit as a youth, let alone a youth chief.

Want to tayang principles, dare to quit Gerakan and BN or not? Or sayang to give up the free R&R and play-play in Taiwan?

Now is the right time for you to suggest to Menteri Pelajaran that we should recognise more universiti degree from both Taiwan and China since the BN cabinet also fancy these 2 country successness in technology.otherwise they wouldn’t sent 1/4 of the parliment to Taiwan and news paper said two days ago, that the deputy menteri pelajaran also suggest/will send 126 cikgus to China to learn something.. How come BN sent all these people to unregconised land??
May be this is instrumented by the MP of Kulim what Zulkifri of PKR.–Balik Cina, and BN need change then they said go to cina.otherwise no visas will be approved??

Ha, ha, persuaded! What a muka saving term!

How come MM is rejoining Umno when he is supposed to emigrate? A bit senile there. Any sign of neurological disorder like Alzheimer’s Disease, Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, or the like?

Twenty years ago, history lessons were all about how Malaysia achieved its independence and how the different races lived together in harmony. Ten years from now, our children will be reading about all the bigots and racist politicians in this country. Good legacy for Malaysia. Moving from third world to fourth world mentality.

From one mistake , BN done far too many wrongs ……
Well, that what they used to say, birds of the same feathers, follocks together. ……
To me, this is the first time in Malaysia history that gruling government have to run and hide from opposition attempt to overthrow them.
Rakyat must be more aware that we just cannot simply elect our MP anymore. All these clowns are merely sucking up our country wealth and taking care of themselves first. Sickening …
Whatever UMNO are doing now is a perfect sign of the dawning of a new day to Malaysian.
Whatever BN are doing only shows that because of monies and greed of power that make them ‘united’ .
Whatever The Done Master intended now are also great, we can nailed him to witness his downfalls ..one by one.
God only make sure that sinner pays……

The Done Master have no other choice but to get back into UMNO in the attempt to escape from any punishment that bound to hit him , should PR take over the government. He will used the Malays sendiments to create havoc and unpeace to this country in order to keep anyone that might bring him or his family members to court.
He is too smart and those ‘slavery’ Malays that supported him ..will do anything for him.
We just need to sit down and enjoy the show.

Tun M is such an old pain. So far as I can see, his pain is psychosomatic and chronic and the old man will go on whining till God knows when. As with many an old man, we should give this old man some pity, albeit very sparingly, but not so much of attention. As some doctors do with attention-deficit old folks, you just ignore them; somehow hopefully, their whining stops – and I hope this one will too!

Achtung! Achtung! Watch out, all MPs!

The next reconvened session in our parliament may become very very violent – not just verbal, but physical!

Taiwan’s parliament is notably known and notorious for fistfights; brawls; hair pulling; throwing of shoes, chairs, placards and boards; spraying water; wrestling violently; punching, kicking and gouging each other.

After their study tour in Taiwan, the BN MPs will be well trained in the above-mentioned tactics.

Whether they remain as the ruling MPs or opposition MPs in the next reconvened session in our parliament, they will not give PR MPs the time of the day and they will also put their new found skills into good practice!

    Achtung! Achtung!

Study Guide For BN MPs Agriculture Study Tour In Taiwan

    Topic 1 : Golf Tree

Many of you YBs play golf. I can see many of you comng to Taiwan with your golf sets.

Do you know, golf balls come from golf tree. The golf ball is from the fruit of the tree. The golf ball fruit is white in colour and it has a white dimpled surface. The fruit is very hard and not edible. The fruit is used in the game called golf. The name is taken from the tree.

The golf game was was first played in ancient china by the emperor. It later spread to central asia, and on to Europe. The golf tree grow in cool climate region, Sabah highland will be a good choice for growing the tree.

Since there are many YBs from Sabah and especially Bung Mokhtar Radin, . You may want to consider planting the golf ball tree in Sabah. It will help Sabah to generate income. At the same time, you can reduce the cost of importing expensive golf balls into

Rafidah said “Nobody should belittle Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s apology over the alleged racist remarks made by Bukit Bendera Umno division chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail, Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz said”.

To belittle means (my own understanding) baseless acts or conducts or criticism which result in the lowering a person’s real or perceived worth, value or status.

A little mathematics would perhaps be apt. If A’s public status is worth a perfect 100, and as a result of baseless criticisms by others A suffered a status drop to say 75 then he could be said to have been belittled for his public perceived worth has dropped by 25 points or 25% – a significant change.

Now, if B’s perceived public worth is say only 5 points and if he suffered a similar 25% depreciation then he would be worth 3.75. The drop is absolute terms is actually quite small compared to A (25 points vs 1.25 points).

The point is the absolute drop gets progressively smaller when one moves from a position of high value, worth or status to a position of low value, worth or status.

As an illustration, lets look at C who has say, 0.5 points of perceived public value. A 25% loss would see C shedding only 0.125 points. That means as a matter of natural progression we would soon approach the realm of negligibles and subsequently the sphere of the infinitesimal.

Now, what is najib’s perceived public worth? This is determined by your perception of him. With this little exercise perhaps we can evaluate in a more objective fashion the quantum of belittling he had been subject to.

Work it out at home. Discuss and compare with friends if you want.

TDM having resigned from UMNO is now said to be applying for UMNO membership. Would his application be approved at a branch level, and be accepted by the party? Has AAB any say on TDM’s application?

The UMNO Supreme Council should be the body that has the final authority on rejecting or accepting TDM if AAB has the courage to have this issue discussed. AAB now faces a dilemma.

If AAB supports TDM’s entry into UMNO, then other Supreme Council members need not have to indicate their preference. It implies that the Supreme Council including AAB have confidence in TDM. Since TDM has been criticising AAB for being unfit to be PM, and if other Supreme Council members support TDM’s entry into UMNO, they are in fact endorsing TDM’s statement that AAB is not qualified to be PM. Thus TDM is accepted to replace AAB as party president.

If AAB rejects TDM in the Supreme Council meeting, then he opens himself to a confidence vote. If more than half the members reject TDM, AAB is still the president with reduced authority, by the proportion that went against him. If AAB fails to get the majority vote, then he would have to leave now, rather than wait for the election result in December.

I suppose AAB will schedule the Supreme Council meeting after 916. The stake might be less meaningful.

It’s so amusing watching them in ‘pucat and panik’ and running helter skelter not knowing what else to do except to get all their ’49 suspect’ BN MPs herded out of the country to prevent them from crossing over to Pakatan Rakyat. The MPs gone for agricultural study tour with their “cangkul” of irons & drivers. We have MPs in Malaysia that has never seen grass being grown in Taiwan. It has to be well studied. We need over 40 MPs to be there just in case anyone missed out any details. It is not a simple study tour, so 12 days is needed. In fact 1 month id possible. After all, it’s Malaysian tax-$ or oil-$.

I do hope these are not the MPs that will join P-R actually. I think we can do without these MPs escaping to Taiwan. It’s shameful & what an embarassment. All there is to do now is that more than 40 UMNO/BN MPs leave or resign, join P-R. Call for by-elections. The people can then decide once & for all if they support the MP that has joined P-R or the new BN candidate in the by-election. This will send a clear message & end all the speculations as it is hurting the economy & investors confidence at the same time. People can tolerate or sacrifice short-term short-comings, but there is a limit.

The country is right now more or less on auto-mode while BN desperately scramble to save their political power, cronies & bank accounts.

There is now circulating in email reasons why PM AAB will not take action against Datuk AI over the seditious remarks. P-R do not condone the ISA, but why BN has not taken any actions? It goes to show we are still in the 50s era. We have never come out of true Merdeka spirit. If Datuk AI is put in ISA, P-R can release him & let the AG indict him for other charges the true legal way, not the BN way. Let the true legal system take care of it.

Generally, I can say that the Chinese people are just disappointed. The Chinese leaders naturally have to react as they are politicians. It is no different to citing “Malay Unity” talks. It’s all about politics.

Let the next election judge the position of Datuk AI over his remarks. Stop politising it. Let him be. Most people know that UMNO has nothing else to say except racial remarks. That is what they are good at. Let them continue in that direction & let the people decide if they vote that kind of ideology. If not, it will be a natural death. That would be better. Otherwise, it’s like “war cries” at the moment. IF BN take back Penang for example, all this kind of talk will not happen coz mulut dah sumbat duit projek projek krony dari BN, esp the mega projects scrapped for now as Penang is under P-R state. If it was still under BN, we will see a different light & hear a different tune. This is unfortunately the bad political culture we have developed for the past 50 years.

But Datuk AI should remember that he also has 2 eyes, 2 ears, 1 mouth, 1 nose etc like any other Malaysian. Unless he has 4 legs I don’t know.

tan chi nam, you are welcome to your assumptions. Like you, I too have an interest in the colourful yet dirty Malaysian politics because no one wants to invest in an unstable country or a country that is likely to become unstable.

Loh, TDM’s admission to UMNO is purely strategic. He will have a one last ditch go at booting Bodowi out and will try to rehabilitate UMNO before it is truly dead and buried. He intends to support Razaleigh and Muhyidin for the top 2 posts; this in turn will change the dynamics of radicalism within the party and perhaps a more equitable approach to the race problems in the country.

I know that Pakatan would love to have Bodowi remain in power (as he will hand them an easy victory to Putrajaya), but I think the fluidity of the situation is such, that one should expect the unexpected.

Since the tearing of Dr Koh’s ( as the acting president of Gerakan and its representative in BN ) picture happened inside UMNO’s building and done by UMNO members, UMNO as the leading party of BN coalition has a moral duty to offer an official apology to Dr. Koh, Gerakan, BN and Malaysians as well.

This is to show solidarity and sincere accommodation within BN and to accord mutual respect to one another whenever any BN component parties are challenged and shown disregard.

If BN is to function well, all its component parties must make a united stand on issues which affect them collectively. Else why do you call it a “coalition”?

I hope that the powerful politicians do not still think that the people of Malaysia are stupid. Everyday somebody out there is praying for this nation. Regardless of whatever religions, we should pray so that we will be humble before God and men and preserve the peace. If not, racial riots will happen again. If this Datuk Ahmad Ismail man is bitter towards Datuk Koh Tsu Koon, both of them should physically fight each other instead of using the media as a weapon of war. At this time, the media should play an important role in keeping peace in Malaysia. True stories need to be told. So, reporters, journalists, editors whoever you are in the mass media, you all know that there is going to be a volcano eruption. Please have some control. Let the lava flows out from the mountain but don’t let the mountain explode.

“this in turn will change the dynamics of radicalism within the party and perhaps a more equitable approach to the race problems in the country.” -zak_hammaad Says

‘more equitable approach’ is probably not my choice of words for what Dr. M will bring. But i guess it is your perspective on the approach Dr. M had used all those years.

“change the dynamics of radicalism”. I completely agree that if Dr. M were to get his hands in radicalism in UMNO again the dynamics will surely change.

He is a cunning and brilliant strategist and no doubt he’ll be able manipulate and bully until he is once again able to set up his vision for Malaysia: with the races nicely divided and each race kept quietly working without any fuss like good little servants.

It would be a nightmare to return to the Dr. M days. For who knows when will be the next chance for the people of Malaysia to secure independance from the UMNOputra elites?

Both Burung Tiong and Cow Dung doesn’t know what the other is doing and saying!
Cow Dung said the trip was planned three months ago, yet Burung Tiong said they were short of time to apply for visa to China which was the first priority!
    What a big joke!

Those who choose to live in denial may eventually be forced to live in fear. Listen to the truths that lie within your hearts, and be not afraid to follow them wherever they may lead you.

We see that which we want to see; we shut our eyes to that which will upset our dreams. We refuse to speak the unspeakable and think the unthinkable and prefer to walk forward with blind determination while rationalizing to ourselves that all is good and will never change. We strike out against those who shake our castles in the sky and rail against those who prick our illusions.

The trip to Taiwan will never foil or shattered the rakyat’s dream.

Thanks to Ahmad, BN is now heading for hard crash.

YB, please take over the government asap and revitalize our economy… BN has lost focus as their goal pole is PKR, as mentioned by current PM recently ( i thought he was elected to take care of Malaysian welfare).

If TDM were to return to umno, then he has to start from the bottom, like any new member.

To climb up, then he has to come out with “Malay Dilemma II” and start a new “nep II” to take care of his grand children!

    Orang Asli,

Your assessment of the Chinese is totally wrong!

Chinese had gone through decades of discriminative policies….those who survived are now confident and stronger. But many had their lives and future ruined by these policies and bad leadership of the country.

Like the other non Malays, they are becoming more politically aware…..Malays in general are very active in politics.

If you not seen the photo on the tearing of Koh Tsu Koon’s pictures, take a look. These are very well staged poses. There were full of symbolisms. RPK may call it mad cow diesease, I dont think so. They were not mad . This photo ops were done to sent a message

    1. Picture backdrop was UMNO logo
    2. UMNO member in frenzy tearing Koh Tsu Koon picture
    3. UMNO members from a particular segment. I think this was purposely staged too.

These photos were purposely staged to produce the “Don’t vote UMNO, Don’t Vote MCA, Don’t vote Gerakan” effect.

Remember the ancient Chinese 36 stratagems. This is number 25.

Well, personally, I am planning to go China for a holiday end of this month. I planned my trip, like 2 months ago, yet I already got my visa approve!

I guess the UMNO & BN goons are much much more “stupid” than me lar…

I read in an internet news somewhere, (can’t remember the source) that the Taiwan authority deny that Anwar Ibrahim is flying to Taiwan within the next few days coz there were so far no visa application from him. If there is really a need to apply for visa to go Taiwan, why did the BN goons had time to apply for visa to go Taiwan but no time to apply for visa to China when the trip was planned 3 months back??

    Beats me!! (?!)

Come to think of it, you may be RIGHT.

I quote this news today from http://www.themalaysianinsider.com :

    Ahmad Ismail says :

…You can blame the Sin Chew Jit Poh reporter for manipulating the issue but who blew up the whole thing? It was Datuk Dr Teng Hock Nan followed by Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon who played the issue for more than seven-eight days.

“But I know, Tsu Koon has a party election coming up, so give him a chance to cari makan (earn a living).

“I also congratulate Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon. He won this game, today is his day. Umno Bukit Bendera wishes to express our deepest gratitude for the 18 years that he has worked with us and for the unique way he has repaid the goodwill of Umno, Muslims and Malays.

I would like to remind Malays in Bukit Bendera and all of Malaysia not to forget that if you support Gerakan, they will repay your goodwill in a very unique way, whether they are running under BN or not,” he quipped. …

You see, when Ahmad Ismail said that “…if you support Gerakan, they will repay your goodwill in a very unique way…”, I am sure he is not stupid to know that if he ask people not to support Gerakan, it would mean asking people not to support UMNO & BN as well.

If it is a slip of his tongue for saying that, then I think he IS REALLY stupid.

Anyway, I am VERY HAPPY with the way things are going on in UMNO & BN… woohooo!! It makes my DAY!!
