Rise of PP voters as pioneers of Bangsa Malaysia generation shaming Umno, MCA, Gerakan, MIC leaders for their race politics

The Permatang Pauh by-election and Anwar Ibrahim’s victory is a historic milestone in Malaysian nation-building and political development for three reasons.

It is firstly a ringing endorsement of the March 8 “political tsunami” where Malaysians transcended race, religion and political affiliation to vote as one people to demand an end to the decades of Barisan Nasional misrule, abuses of power, corruption and human rights violations.

It demonstrates that the 12th general election results which saw the establishment of five Pakatan Rakyat state governments and the end of the unbroken two-thirds parliamentary majority of the Barisan Nasional represented the deep-seated aspirations of Malaysians and not a fluke shot or fleeting phenomenon.

Secondly, it is an unmistakable verdict on behalf of 27 million Malaysians at their disappointment with the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, the Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, the Cabinet and the Barisan Nasional component parties at their failure in the past six months after the March 8 general election to end the deepening crisis of confidence and restore public trust and faith in the government as well as a censure of Abdullah’s failure to honour his renewed pledges to implement wide-ranging reforms, especially the police, the judiciary and on anti-corruption.

Thirdly, the rise of Permatang Pauh voters as the pioneers of the Bangsa Malaysia generation rejecting and putting to shame Umno, MCA, Gerakan and MIC Ministers and leaders for their dirty, immoral and racist politics in the 10-day by-election campaign.

Until yesterday, there was nothing for Malaysians to celebrate in the forthcoming 51st National Day on August 31.

Now there is cause for the celebration of the 51st National Day as the people of Permatang Pauh have given the nation and the world hope and confidence that there is a future for a united, harmonious, progressive and prosperous Malaysian nation when the majority of the Malay, Chinese and Indians voters in Permatang Pauh united as one people to support Anwar Ibrahim in the cause of a new Malaysia and to reject the racist and communal campaigning of Umno.

In the by-election, Najib had masterminded not only the dirtiest but also the most immoral, divisive and racist election campaign in my personal experience, particularly in the chauvinist and communal Umno line that the Malays would be oppressed by the DAP if Anwar Ibrahim is elected as MP for the constituency.

This is a lie and it is most shameful, dishonest and unMalaysian for any Umno leader to resort to such falsehoods.

But what is equally shocking is the eerie silence and acquiescence of MCA, Gerakan and MIC Ministers and leaders who campaigned in Permatang Pauh but who dared not protest with Najib or Abdullah to demand an immediate end to such racist campaigning – proving right the post-March 8 criticisms of some MCA and Gerakan leaders that the role of MCA and Gerakan were nothing more than being political “serfs” and “beggars” to UMNO.

Abdullah, Najib as well as Umno, MCA, Gerakan and MIC leaders have not learnt the lessons of the March 8 “political tsunami”.

Will they learn the lessons of the August 26 Permatang Pauh “mini political tsunami” or will they continue to be in terminal denial, aggravating the national political and economic crisis of confidence in Malaysia?

It’s not that they did not learn YB, it is pure selfish interest of these BN leaders to protect themselves against one man who is capable of taking them head on.

yeah … when you look at those comments on MT, then you will know that many Malays have very very bad preception towards BeEnd.

No matter how you block , it will just come out from some other sites.

it now not just racial politics. Many Malaysian are matured enough to know that. It more about CAT advocated by DAP, Justice and social by PKR, morality ( for Islam ) by PAS.
All these factors goes against the practices by BeEnd somehow. If BeEnd can come out of their AIDS disease, they may still survive. Else, coming next GE, they will be eventually obliterated.

It is real foolish to block the Malaysian Today blog, as you really cann’t blog the internet. It will resurface from all over the world.

Also note that why there is demand on this blog simply there must certain real issues that have attracted the reader and the public. Never think those people who go to the blog are blind and stupid. They just can simply be fool by the bog if there are no substance on the blog news and postings.

On the other why the authorities are so afraid of Malaysia Today blog? They have try to get RPK and they did but they have no case against him so what is the issue then? The root is BN should clean up their house instead and wash all the shits that they have, that the best way to shut down MAlaysia Today.

You should not pin point the BN’s wrong doing and review their weaknesses, just let them continuing making more mistakes, let them exposed more of their silly wrong doing, and let them get from bad to worst and to worst. After AI won the Permatang Pauh, most of the BN’s MPs are very very very worry now, wondering who are the 30 BN’s MPs going to tilt over the fence onto PR side, and they might want to do the same. If they don’t, they are going to have nightmares as long as when they go to sleep. PR well done, stay focus and give the hell to BN and give us the NEW MALAYSIA.

“Anwar Ibrahim – Malaysia’s most influential son”
    ===================================
A country engulfed in 51 years of suspicion and distrust among the races. A country where one race proclaimed itself Supreme and the others as Inferiors. A county heading towards perdition and oblivion. A country being plundered.

Just then came the ‘Saviour’, Anwar Ibrahim to do the undoable – to unify the races into one people.

History is replete with examples how one man could altar the course of a nation or redeem it from destruction.

Malaysia needed just that one man who would be accepted by all as the ‘Unifier’ to could bring all the races to accept one another as brothers of The Malaysian Race.

“India anak aku, Cina anak aku, Melayu, Khadazan, Iban anak aku”, he thundered as he spoke to them. And the people applauded in agreement.

They believe him and the people of Permatang Pauh locked their arms and marched forth to the polling stations on August 26 2008 as one people to chose that one man who could save this divided nation.

No, they did not vote for an MP. They voted for the nation. They voted for their children’s future. They voted against an Evil regime!

Anwar has removed the racial blinkers, shackles and chains of the oppressed.

And they have entrusted their entire future and their children’s future in the hands of Anwar Ibrahim.

And now I call upon all Malaysians who love this country to back him all the way. Set aside your personal agendas, ideologies, preferences, differences and work for the common good of the nation.

    And we shall prevail!

Look at MCA and Gerakan, they were supposed to be a little smarter than UMNO in BN, but now they appeared as stupid as UMNO. They also endorsed sodomy for the campaign, in addition to racism. It has been their only tool for the past few decades without any real idea. They will be buried together with UMNO.

The voice within UMNO stating that they have put in every resources (most money wasted) and dirtiest tactics, yet the outcome was worse than before, and the number of Arif Shah total counts was less than the UMNO members! UMNO has been rejected by the people.

The ruling of five states really ensured the people that Pakatan Rakyat can be the federal government without doubt. I am waiting for these great gentleman/women to appear in the government to lead Malaysia.

Subject: IS MALAYSIA HEADING THE WAY of INDONESIA

Indonesia is one of the world’s richest countries in terms of natural resources.

God has blessed Indonesiawith gold, uranium, copper, oil, timber, beaches, seas and other wealth. The land is fertile with abundant rain. Stick a twig into the ground and it grows into a tree.

Yet Indonesians sleep in the streets.

Food is expensive. The average Indonesian eats some rice, tempe, tauhu and may be some vegetables for breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday.

An average Nasi Padang meal for four persons in a single star Indonesian restaurant can cost RM60(160,000 Rupiah). This is way beyond the income of the average Joko or Ketut in Indonesia.

Why is this so ? The answer is because the ruling elites in Indonesiado not care about the people. They have pillaged the country.

They craft policies that only serve to keep the elites in power and wealthly. The same thing is happening in M’sia.

There are also millions of Indonesians who go to school and university but do not learn skills that can help them survive in the real world. They are very poor in European languages like English or Dutch. All their education is in Indonesian. So they cannot keep up with the latest developments and technologies. They cannot compete. They remain poor.

The children of the elites are sent overseas for their education. An average Indonesian university graduate cannot bring world class skills to his employers. He or she therefore earns a pittance. This is happening in Malaysia. Bumiputra university graduates only strike it rich if they get Government jobs where they do not do much work but earn a good salary with a pension. In the private sector they may not get a job or earn only a pittance.

That is why 100,000 graduates remain unemployed in Malaysia.

Bumiputra university graduates are turning up for interviews as taxi drivers and shop assistants. What about those who flunk out after SPM ? They become Mat Rempits (Motorcycle Racers). Last Saturday I saw another Mat Rempit get killed at the road races in Shah Alam (near Section 7).

In Malaysia, just like in Indonesia, food is getting very expensive. But the wages and salaries of the people, especially the Malays, is not keeping up with the increase in prices. Instead of developing the competitive ability of the people, the Government has been using the failed NEP to provide subsidies and dish out money on a plate.

Everything is subsidised, even cooking oil, flour, rice, sugar, fuel, etc.

The Government has been providing these subsidies so that the people will keep voting for the ruling party. So it has never been to the Government’s advantage to make the Malays independent. A Malay who is independent of the Government may not vote for the BN. It is therefore better to keep feeding with subsidies.. So, for the past 50 years, everything has been subsidised.

But now with 27million people in the country of which more than half are Malays, subsidies are getting more expensive. There is also much much more thievery and wastage by the elites in Malaysia .

But there is no bottomless ‘well’ full of money.

    Everything has its limits.

The money will soon run out. Without the subsidies for cooking oil, sugar, flour and petrol, how are the people, especially the Malays, going to survive ? Already university graduates cannot find jobs or compete in the private sector. What happens when the oil money runs out ? What happens when (not if, but when) the Government cannot simply spend billions of oil money to sustain its voting base any longer? That is when we may see people sleeping in the streets, just like in Indonesia . If that happens this country will go up in flames. We will all be consumed.

In Indonesia , the Government has not mobilised its hundreds of millions of people (over
250 million Indonesians) with the competitive skills to grow enough food for themselves. Hence food is expensive. They do not even have simple survival skills like coming to work on time, organising themselves to do simple tasks, maintaining good hygiene and cleanliness and so on. They are poorly read and not informed about many things that are going on around the world. Their Government has failed in all these aspects. Hence the average Indonesian remains poor.

The same thing has happened in Malaysia . Our young people, especially the Malays, do not possess basic survival skills. We are not talking about competitive skills but just basic survival skills. The Government is not serious about giving them useful competitive skills either.

The Mat Rempits are being glorified by the politicians as saviours of the nation (Mat Cemerlang). Correction. they are drug users, gang rapists, snatch thieves and street fighters.

When an efficient Policewoman called Nooriyah Anvar was appointed Chief of Traffic Police she went after the Mat Rempits with a vengeance. Does anyone remember her ? She confiscated their bikes on the spot. But soon the Mat Rempits called their political muscle and Nooriyah Anvar was kicked out. To date she holds the record of being the shortest serving Traffic Police Chief in Malaysia . She has been replaced by Senior Asst Comm (II) Datuk Hamza Taib.

So the Government is not serious about improving the position of the Malays..

It serves the Barisan Nasional Government to keep the Malays down and out. Then the Malays can go to the Government for crumbs. This way the ruling elites get to keep the whole loaf to themselves. Go and visit Indonesia . This is what is happening over there. It is happening over here too.
Does Malaysia have a problem ? yes the Malays are not happy, the Chinese are not happy and the Indians are not happy.

They spoke out at the March 2008 polls and hope things will change for the better, now they have some oppositions who promised change.

The Malays are being duped by their corrupted leaders by using the religion, the Chinese and Indians are being marginalised by the ruling elites.

Let us all Malaysians wake up and fight the corrupt system for the benefit of everyone. Let us all unite and stand together and change the system for once and for all.

We are not Malays, Chinese or Indians, we are Malaysians.

Malaysians May End Up Sleeping in the Street. We desperately need Pakatan Rakyat to save our beloved nation ….now!

It is not surprising that 50 years of pent-up dissatisfaction ends up with a tsunami; like the actual sea tsunami that is caused by a build up of energy somewhere in the sea and it hits the nearest beaches. It will happen and it happened yesterday. Tomorrow Datuk Anwar will swear in as a member of the Parliament and he has to continue on his political journey which was abruptly ended some few years back. He has to fulfill his destiny, same like all of us who have our own destinies too. If Barisan Nasional has not learned a thing, then the people should come to their conclusions regarding what sort of a party BN is. If our judicial system needs to be repaired, then the general Malaysian population is the judge for the time being and a better judge too.

“I personally feel these type of politicians have no principles and they should not be part of the Pakatan Rakyat”

I assumme PR would take in only capable and clean former BN MPs into its fold.I certainly would want to see capable leaders from BN to serve in PR’s Goverment. Jumping parties for the sake of the rakyat sincerely, why not?right? We voted them for party or for us,the rakyat???

There are many capable leaders from current and former BN such as Muhiyddin , Chew Mei Fen , Lim Ah Lek , Mukhriz , Zaid , Lim Boo Chang , Dr Toh , ex-MIC VP Subra , Ng Yen Yen , Michael Chong , Yong Teck Lee etc..

Ahluck, you don’t seem to understand what the issue is with ketuanan Melayu.

It is the BN’s policy of Making The Malay Person the superior over other races! The Sultan shall always be our tuan for he is the Sultan. Period. The rich man who pays the bill is the tuan of the people who are invited to his dinner party. There are superior men over you everywhere in the world.

We are against the fraud of Malay interest for the sake that he is a Malay. I hope you can see the nuance of ketuanan Malaya. A Malay menial worker cannot be your tuan for example – but BN policy is that this person’s interest overide your legitimate rights because he is Malay and you are not.

Friend, a large number of educated Malays disavow this fraud. It is BN’s ploy of gaining the support of unqualified Malays who don’t deserve certain things to support UMNO for the special priviledges!

  24. #28 by yhsiew on Wednesday, 27 August 2008 - 10:37 pm

Anwar’s triumph in the PP by-election showed that the people of PP wanted practicalities, i.e. food on the table, a roof over their heads and a good education. They had no interest for sexual innuendos and no time to pry into private lives of leaders. Najib’s most immoral, divisive and racist election campaign was totally irrelevant to the people of PP. His campaign merely exposed what kind of leader he is!

MCA, Gerakan and MIC are only “office boys” of UMNO – how you expect an office boy to have a “say” in an organization?

    Cookie Monster / ahluck,
Do you seriously think the Malays would allow the Malay sultanate institution to be disbanded? As much as many Malays want to embrace the `Malaysian’ concept, any such talk would cause DAP and PR to loose the goodwill and support of many Malays. Besides, I strongly doubt PKR and PAS would support any such idea anyway as it is political suicide.

Here’s looking at the bright side.

Anwar will be sworn in Thursday. DNA Bill passes 2nd reading and a vote is called for it to pass in Parliament as an Act. BN fails to get the numbers to pass the Act. That’s a vote of no confidence :)

  28. #35 by For Malaysia on Wednesday, 27 August 2008 - 11:25 pm

Ahluck you need not worry about KeSultanan Melayu. How much have they affected us? It has always been “upon advise from the Prime Minister” thing before a royal consent is given. So what can you conclude here? Look at the process of Bill before it becomes a law of the land. After reading at the Lower House, it is passed to the Upper House. Upper House cannot amend. They can, however, “recommend” or “suggest” for some amendment to be made. Then it is passed to the YDPA for Royal Consent. After 30(60?) days, even if YDPA doesnt’ gives his consent, it automatically becomes Law. We don’t have to become republic. Our Monarch is that of Constitutional Monarchy unlike in some other countries. What we really need is for the three most powerful agencies be properly administered and monitored. The Police and the ACA should not be under the purview of the Home Ministry and the Prime Minister’s Office respectively. They should be put under a Select Committee comprising of the government, the opposition, the NGOs and other bodies deemed necessary. And the law-making process should also be put under a Select Committee too before it is passed to the YDPA for Royal Consent for a simple reason that if a law is proposed by the government side, then the proposed law will become law no matter how ridiculous or pompous it will be, because the majority will vote for it. That way I believe we, Malaysians, will be protected of our rights from ill treatment by the Police, ACA and any unfavourable laws.I am a Malay who has voted for change. But I still believe the Sultanate Institution should and must be maintained no matter who becomes the government.

Hello ! The Sandiwara in Permatang Pauh by election was over now // The result showed Dato Seri Anwar and the People Power WON !

All BN leaders and Arif went missing in actions to cover their shameful graceful defeat and speechless.

Tomorrow is a D-Day for DSAI to swear and takes his oath in Parliament and to act as an Opposition Leader.

Two main questions raised by all Bangsa Malaysians:-

    (A) Will DSAI keeps his words and promises to take over the Federal Government before September 16, 2008 ? BN is challenging DSAI and Pakatan Rakyat to proof it.

    (B) Will DSAI challenges and scrutinise the Budget 2009 and he questions Pak Lah since he is holding a Minister of Finance post? It is a Hot Topic on Friday Debate for the Budget 2009 to bring down the inflation and petrol / diesel prices.

Malaysians want concrete positive answers from DSAI coming weeks before D-DAY Sept 16 Reformasi ! Merdeka ! Merdeka ! Merdeka ! BE END RULES ARE OVER SOON !

It is time PAKATAN RAKYAT takes over.

MALAYSIANS OF ALL RACES RESPECT SULTANS IN MALAYSIA. PLEASE AVOID SENSITIVE ISSUES BY IRRESPONSIBLE BLOGGERS IN THIS LKS BLOG. THANKS !

    HIDUP BANGSA MALAYSIA.

The next logical move is the anticipated “jump” of the 30 odds MP (hopefully they are the good guys) to PR. My assessment is that it may bear fruit. Why? Because its the fast path to reforms for those who sincerely want reforms, whether in BN or PR. But being a sensitive issues for MPs in their present coalition, the plan has to be secretly executed, eventhough publicly announced. Thus far there is little leakage, except for SAPP MPs, which I believe is for testing the water purposes, just like the no confidence motion. I think the MPs who are ready to “jump” ship are waiting for the cue from DSAI. It has to be done in a lightning strike manner. Otherwise, it will definitely fail. So watch out guys for the next drama to unfold so that DSAI can make good his promise to bring down BN come 169.

    ================================

ketuanan melayu is a concept that has weakened the competitive edge of the Malays as a whole.

it breeds corruption, and benefitted only a few.

it should be rejected, and replaced by a fairer policy for all Malaysian with citizenship papers to prove.

however, the Sultans are keepers of the Malay heritage and tradition.

the aim is to reject ketuanan melayu which is an umno concept, and not reject Malay heritage and tradition.

I suggest, don’t ever bring up such a topic on the monarchy, don’t even think about it. There must be a limit to what we can comment.

Some posed the ethical question of cross overs by BN MP’s. This is a polar world. There is evil there is goodness… even different degree of evils and goodness. This is reality and we have no choice but to accept it.

At the moment it would appear that cross overs would be the short cut to realisation of PKR’s objective of taking control of the government. To reject cross over on moral grounds would mean perhaps prolonging the sufferings of the reform minded Malaysians. Faced with this reality, we have to look at the relative degree of evil in these two choices.

What’s your choice folks? I have made up my mind… ;)

    Guys,

Zak_hahamad has had his fifteen minutes of fame and this blog is fast turning into exchanges between this ‘coconut head’ to borrow the term used by limkamput, and the rest – rather than opinions about the issues raised by YB Kit.

It is time you guys show some respect to the host of this blog!

It used to be Kasian Amat. But he is busy making arrangements to leave the country to go to Canada now that Anwar has won the election!

For Malaysia wrote: I am a Malay who has voted for change. But I still believe the Sultanate Institution should and must be maintained no matter who becomes the government. *****************

Not just you or the Malays, we all support the respect and continuation of the Sultanate – no question at that.

My personal view, and one that must be shared by all Malaysians, is the acceptance of the Sultanate without any attempt to modificaton, and if one is not happy with that I suggest that he migrate to another place.

That said, let us not forget that it was Mahathir that reduced the Agong to a mere puppet. It was Mahathir who showed disrespect for the sultans and the Malays could not undo this anormaly.

Malay characteristics of this country must not the undermined or diluted.

I am afraid that many still cannot see the nuance of a Malay characteristic Malaysia Is Not Racial Discrimination. Yet there is still racial divversity

China Has Chinese Characteristisc, India has Indian characteristics, and Malaysia Must Have Malay characteristics.

Yet there is room for personal cultural rights

Let’s celebrate this MERDEKA DAY. Malaysia will be different with DAP/PKR and PAS ruling this country. But 5 yras is too short for us, don’t easily get dissappointed if we can’t perform well within the next 5 years. DSAI can’t do everything within a short period. All members in PR must be patient and adjust/tune yourself to each other as careful as we can. We have many more years to go to finally achieve the REAL MALAYSIA. Is 10 yrs enough?

Pls change the future from “racial” (Malay, Chinese, Indian) to Muslim and Non Muslim only. DON’T count the races again. You want it to be malaysian? Ok, drop all the talk about race from today. Can?

KuLi let out the clarion call, and is waiting for a ground swell to come to his cause. However, it is not coming to him strongly as he expected, to give that decisive knock-out punch.

Therefore he must wait a little for the members to boil while he adds fire.

i think there is much fracture, and much self interest within umno, which makes it difficult for any one to gain the quantum support in a short time.

    Warm greeting Udergrad2:
Why BN is stalling is perhaps, they had just got another TKO!!
Those blinking cows may have to take time to recover.
Do not assume they have empty their ammunitions, think you’ll agree.

One other thing, Just ignore this Zak ‘thing’.
Sent him to a corner, let him think for himself
‘Quarantine?, Like what you do with unknown ‘viruses?’
He just craft for attention, thats all, lonely pest, poor thing.

Ikt-56, you sum it all up. My minds made up too.
The objective is still the same. Get the numbers first
and form a new Goment. The rest of issues can be address
‘Internally’ without the “trouble makers” around.

leave the royals. they’re symbolic and are links to the history of malaysia. as an entity, they do much better in the integrity department than sorry asss umno. tdm single handedly changed the face of malaysia and it is what it is today. rather than undoing it, it’s best for the next gen leaders to take that n run the best w/ it. bn as we know it today is an extension tdm and it’s taking the rakyat down the path to oblivion.
